Hi All,

Gonna be making a purchase soon on the above cards:

Radeon VII in mGPU (Crossfire, if it is supported)
Nvidia 2080 in SLI (EVGA)
Nvidia 2080 ti (Single Card for now)

Opinions?

Seeing as your sig rig is all-AMD, I would go for the Radeon VII...

Dunno about the Crossfire...

According to techradar no crossfire at this stage for the Radeon 7

I'd wait until the 7th, it's only a few days away and see reviews before making up your mind. It's what i'm going to do.

I saw it here but like any information, take it with a grain of salt since it didn't mention who said it the writer.

Yeah that is what i had read. It looks like 3rd party info. My apologies for saying it was from AMD. Maybe Kyle, you could reach out to AMD for an update.

Once again my apologies for saying that the Radeon 7 doesn't officially support Crossfire.

I to saw the techradar article a few days back. I will take the "no crossfire support " with a big pile of salt. In my mind, I can't see AMD just cutting off crossfire support for games that still take advantage of two GPUs. I know they dropped the "Crossfire" brand a few years back (https://www.pcworld.com/article/322...brand-as-multi-gpu-gets-more-complicated.html) but they still supprt multi-gpu in their drivers.

I'll know on the 7th...

I always go for the fastest single card that I can afford at the time, which appears would be a RTX 2080 Ti in your case.

The 2080Ti is sweet. I must be lucky because I've had no issues. One runs nearly 24x7 for deep learning tasks, the other intermittently for the same, and occasionally for gaming. Maybe 10 hours of gaming on it so far (and several times that with deep learning) and no space invaders action.

Well, I am back to team green after 9 years. Disappointed with the reviews of the AMD VII so far. So I just plunked down $1600 for a pair of 2080's.

Radeon VII disappoints...
barely 1080Ti performance at 2160p and RTX 2070 performance at 1080p

The rumor is it works better with AMD cpus and apparently, it really really likes the TR series. I'm skeptical, but we'll see.

Also if you add washers to the heatsink screws contact is much better and it will drop the junction temp by 10C.

Either way, my card has arrived so I'll be benching it alongside my 1080ti on my 1950x system. I'll report back.

Ill give ya 300 for one of those peace of shit Radeon Vega frontier edition 16gb cards;)...I think you should have went with a single card 2080ti but i guess your going to be doing hard core cuda that can use both?

Def not a piece of shit. :-P Check you msg inbox. I still do some editing with Adobe, so the cuda cores will come in very nicely. But my computer is def more gaming oriented because I don't use it for work anymore all that often.

always loved the frontier edition cards.....only thing better is water cooled models. they should hold certain value from kinda a collector standpoint cause like the vega7 there just a small amount being made. I be really happy when they get better at using the opencl compute side of the cards like cuda
