Wow. I forgot all about that. I'd assume I'd have everything at 9.9, but I recall it used to nitpick certain setups or configurations.

still exists in win 10 this is my laptop in sig
 
WEI still exist in Windows, and Windows still runs it, but it's available by CMD only now by default. I believe the disk portion is used to determine if SuperFetch and Optimization should be enabled or not (detects SSD or HDD).

My primary hard disk is an Intel 750 PCIe MLC NVMe drive. I'm questioning the validity of that score.

list the other hardware since you dont use a sig...i guessing you have intel/nvidia rig...the other numbers dont mean much otherwise. Knowone thinks this tests means much...its just cool how the hardware/scores have changed since it stated with win7 or was it vista? I wonder what kind of score high end xeon/threadrippers with large amounts of ram.....of course the numbers are just numbers;)
 
why do you need a 3rd party tool or CMD to run this?...seems like it's already built into Windows 10 so why not just have it available like in Windows 7

Because they did not want everything to be about their numbers you know these numbers mean almost nothing other than shows how you fare at the low end
 
my 8 year old i7 980X still gets a 9.2 CPU score :D ...my hard drive is only 5.9 because I'm using my backup WD Black HDD drive...I have an 860 EVO installed on my main system

Yeah, found the Windows Experience Index by accident when installing Ultimate Windows Tweaker to turn off a bunch of Windows 10 garbage when I first started using the "upgraded" OS. Thought it died with Windows 7. Same old numbers that mean very little--other than why bother to update components very often--they've been quite good for a long time--curious what Intel's latest and greatest W-3175X would score? Probably a 9.8 on processor lol.
