HardForum user Snooble just found a 6GB Gigabyte RTX 2060 listed at Canada Computers and Electronics. Other than some basic warranty information and a $529 CAD price tag, there are no details or specifications for the card yet, but the "GV-N2060GAMING OC-6GD" SKU does match one of the dozens of Gigabyte SKUs spotted in the Eurasian Economic Commission's web portal.

The RTX 2060 is rumored to launch on January 7th, with retail availability beginning on the 15th. Other leaks suggest that it's based on the same die as the RTX 2070, with 1920 CUDA cores and 48 ROPs, and and that performance should be on par with the GTX 1070 TI. Nvidia's CEO is scheduled unveil "amazing new technology innovation" at CES on January 6, and they have several other events planned for later dates, so if this listing holds any weight, it shouldn't be too long before we get an official confirmation.

$529?? I was planning to get a 6 GB model of this card, but at that price, I might as well grab a 2070 for a few more bucks. At this point, it might be better for the less financially blessed like myself to just buy a new 10xx card...

Edit: Is the price in USD or CAD? If CAD, then it's a bit easier to stomach an ~400 USD price tag. Considering most rumors show that the base model will be 349 USD, though, I'd wouldn't be surprised to see 529 USD for the 6 GB model.

Ffs please tell me the card wont cost this much. I was planning on buying a 2050 or whatever the cheapest 20 series card comes out with the new generation nvenc encoding. For those that don't know it's capable of really good quality matching about what a ryzen 2700x can for streaming games. Was expecting a card to be in the 150 to 250 dollar range though.

The whole RTX series is stupidly expensive. Thing is, they still sell, regardless, leaving those of us who don't want to spend as much money in the dust. It took me 8 months to afford my 970 after it launched. I've saved about as much towards a new card, but the price to performance ratios just aren't there anymore.

I'm also waiting on team red to respond. I'm not avidly team red or green. I tend to lean towards green, but if red comes out with something at a much better price point with similar performance, I'll be one of the first to jump ship. I even jumped off team blue to build my wife's computer because blue is just getting to expensive for our tastes.

So these are predicted to ba around the same speed/slightly faster as a 1070/8G. Why go with a 6G ram card when you can get 8G 1070s used on ebay for $250ish?

I'm waiting on NAVI..

I thought the performance was supposed to be closer/= to the 1070 Ti?

this thing is suppose to be on par with a 1070ti, but with less memory. In the past, price/performance would trickle down. So instead of getting a 1070ti performance at, say $250, we see.. the same performance for the same cost as last gen card (if rumor on performance is true). Meanwhile you can find 1070ti cards for $350(in my opinion still inflated and should be more like $300 now), and vega 64 (reference) for $399 or so.
Really hope those AMD rumors are true and they drop the hammer on all these inflated prices. People are basically paying a nv luxury tax on rtx and... even a 2070 it is pretty useless.

It's CAD, not USD.
I realize this and it's still like 400 usd give or take. That's a lot for a mid range card... . And besides the 2080ti all the 10 series cards can be had for cheaper and offer about the same performance, though there are some things the new cards have such as better nvenc encoder and rtx capabilities.

I know the margins aren't as enticing, but the December Steam Hardware Survey indicates 30% (!) share total between the 1050, 1050 Ti, and 1060.

Does Nvidia want to become the Apple of GPUs?

Probably. Unless AMD forces their hand with similar performing, low price cards, there isn't much incentive to offer a low margin product.

AMD hasn't released a similar performing card @ a much lower price since Lisa Su took over. Her new approach seems to be offering a barely competitive GPU at the same price. So I doubt we will see AMD saving us anytime soon.

Remember when Nvidia's FX cards underperformed and were completely overpriced?

I don't know. For the last 2 months, AMD has had a hands down *better* card than NV at the $150 price point and still no one is buying them.

The mind-share war is over. NV already is the "Apple" of GPUs.

Good luck with that price! AMD is going to eat Nvidia's lunch in regards to pricing.

A 6gb card in 2019 is downright insulting even if it is $400 US.

More like she has the sense to see that Ryzen was on the right track and keeping resources focused on that was a better long-term strategy than trying to knee-jerk fix Vega.

I'd say insulting especially for $400. That's high end card territory. I've seen new 1070s go for under $300 and they have 8 GB. Hell if this card is around 1070 ti performance then the 1070 ti is the better buy.

That's because the steam hardware survey oversamples laptops.

Not intentionally, but due to the nature of its lack of configuration distinction. The biggest shifts occur in August and September when mom and dad buy devices for back to school.

I could of course be wrong but I have seen this rrported elsewhere.

And Nvidia continues to ignore the $229-279 market....

They do realize that's a HUGE portion of us right??

Well the RTX 2060 looks like it should cost around $250. Slightly better than a GTX 1070 with 2GB less RAM over 2 years later at roughly the same price point? Yikes.

It got my current 980 Ti in September for $220.

They're asking for literally twice as much $ for the same performance. (+ ray-tracing that won't be worth a d*mn, even at 1080p)

I bought my 2, 1070s right before the mining craze started....(what, 2 years ago?) for $250/$270). A year later I followed up with a GTX 1080 for $270.

I really can't see paying over $300 for a video card. I do have a g-sync monitor though, but SLI + Gsync/high refreh is just borked.

On Shadow of War with SLI ON + Gsync/Vsync off, if my monitor is set above 85hz (Acer XB271HU IPS) I lose ~ 30% of my performance on the built in benchmark. WTF? Nvidia needs to fix this, like yesterday.

520 seems reasonable for what amounts to borderline low range card. The fuck happened to this market

I hope so.

But I also worry that nVidia won't budge on their pricing right away, and AMD would then choose to over-price their next-gen offerings just below (or even initially just above; a la Bulldozer launch price vs Intel i7-2600K) nVidia's artificially inflated price points, instead of pricing them in line with past lineups and forcing nVidia to lower their pricing.

After years of being on the [H] I finally made a post that made the front page! Yeah boy!

Canada Computers is always priced way high by the way, I imagine in the real world we will see prices in the $425-475 range (CAD) for these cards. I can see sale prices for $300 (+/- $50) quite easily.

If AMD is smart at all, they're going to annihilate Nvidia/Intel this year on price/performance....

I think AMD will be smart about it with their prices. Right now NVidia is pricing at the max range people are willing to pay for performance. The mining boom caused this mess and NVidia still believes that they are sitting in the middle of a profit madhouse while the rest of reality noticed that things have changed.

I believe AMD is poised to rock the GPU world, I think that they are going to release 1070Ti killers at a fraction of the 1070Ti price point and they'll be announcing a card to rival the 2080 (well, the Vega 64 currently does this but without the ray tracing).

In all honesty what I see happening is the new Ryzen chips having onboard graphics that kill the 1050/1060 lineup which would leave them a huge head start where nobody else is. This would leave them sitting pretty in the lower and middle range budget desktops and laptops. Moreso if they could figure out how to Crossfire their chip with a GPU in a laptop.

Sell product at a huge markup mainly because of the name brand? Heck yeah, what company doesn't?

That's because CC doesn't have any competition. With NCIX gone, who's left? Memory Express only operates in Central and Western Canada. They don't have any stores east of Manitoba.
