BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is pleased to announce that TALES OF VESPERIA™: Definitive Edition will be available for the first time in Europe on January 11th, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Switch™ and PC. It will also be available in North America on the same date.

Thought it was still coming this year but it seems there not going get there :( .

Just need Lost Odyssey on Switch and I can throw away my old 360 console.

I'd really like it if they released their library on PC. Blue Dragon isn't the greatest, but being able to Code Engine some of the grinding out, might help with the pacing.

Some excited person explaining the short history about Tales of Vesperia and some insight on some of the game features to look forward to.

Excited it a bit of an understatement, but he's not wrong about how good Vesperia is, it is also my favorite game in the series. Yuri is definitely my favorite Tales protagonist and the game does have a really well rounded cast that feel like they all belong. It was always a pity that Namco shot themselves in the foot by making the initial release a 360 exclusive and then never releasing the improved PS3 version later on. The plot has some issues, but I do like how they tell it and the way the character's evolve.

If this does well I really hope they do a remake or remaster of Abyss. A new remaster of Symphonia, not based on the craptastic PS2 version, would be appreciated too.

FTFY.

Symphonia is the FF7 of the Tales series. A great game, but gets a lot of inflated hype due to it being most people's first game in the franchise. I like Symphonia, a lot, but Vesperia does everything better. Better characters, better writing, better plot, better locations, better battle system. Symphonia is not even my second favorite Tales game, that goes to Abyss. One of these days I need to replay Destiny and Eternia (Destiny 2 in the US) to figure out if they still hold up or not.

I haven't played Eternia yet (on my *very* long list of RPGs to get to). Destiny...does not hold up. Phantasia does. (Note the PSX release of Phantaisa came out AFTER Destiny).

Got it in the mail today, been playing it. It is okay just got past the woods healed the tree.
Little slow at this part of the game.

That Gattuso boss is really hard to beat. When you are just killing trash so easily. I had to level from 16 to 18 using the last save clearing the area I was limited to trying to kill the boss. Did that a couple of times when you load from save the monsters come back ;) .

I'm hitting a brick wall where I can not issue battle orders: leave it to me.
I can not press D pad down button and LEFT without triggering overlimit...

**Never mind figured it out
It seems you can give orders just that they all ignore it.
Well one thing works is that moving everyone on top of each other solved the problem.

Playing the Switch version. Seems like Bamco did a really good job with that version. Everything feels smooth and seems to run well. Battles are 60fps and you can't tell that its running at 30 out of battle except in the overworld. The overworld is smooth and probably running at a solid 30, but its an area where the lesser framerate is more apparent.

The new Yuri voice actor is good, but it is super jarring when it goes from a scene with him to a skit or another scene with Troy Baker doing Yuri. Bamco took the worst possible option here. They either should have freaking called Troy Baker and seen if he'd be willing to negotiate on price or just redubbed the entire bloody game with the new voice actor. This half-assed in-between step really hurts what is otherwise a pretty solid localization for the game.

Did not bother me since I never played Tales of Vesperia before, did came to the conclusion that I like Lloyd a lot better :) .
