Apple Confirms Some iPad Pros Ship Slightly Bent, but Says It's Normal

If I were to buy one (unlikely) and if I were to open it to find it bent, it would be back at the place of purchase within minutes regardless of their quality and precision standards.

Do you want to experience true straight, do you?!

Slightly bent is the new straight.

I wonder why won't apple just ship bricks in their packages at this point and call it normal, their fans would defend them anyway.

I had a laundry list of reasons to not buy the 2018 iPad Pro redesign already, and this is just adding another item to the list rather than convincing me otherwise.

I'm pretty sure the old Titanium PowerBook G4 is more resilient to bends and dents than anything they've made this decade; just go easy on the screen hinges, they're infamous for breaking.

User: "Hey, this ipad is bent... can you replace it under warranty?"
Apple: "Get Bent"

It may meet your "quality" standards Apple but it sure doesn't meet mine. Pretty pathetic...of course when they introduce bendable screens, they can re-use the frames of all these iPads they don't sell...

And THIS sort of chintzy-ness, is exactly why Apple....sucks, and has for a fairly long time now.

I think this is officially the last year I buy Apple products. Their heads are lodged too far up their nether regions to be recovered now. Good riddance.

Agreed. If that photo on the OP isn't a fish eye lens or doctored I'd return that thing 30 seconds after opening the box.

And who pays $1800 for an iPad? Seriously I'm having a mental shutdown over that one.

The most incredible thing is how simple it would be to avoid this.. a little spline here an there.. or if you want to get fancy concave edges ( that might be more complicated than expoxying some splines) .. You can also give some shape to the back as opposed to splines, nothing new with aluminum..... But hey, Apple.

I feel like there is a virus in the air that is turning us in to YES SIR robots. We at [H] are more direct but man I think its only a matter of time a fanboy says this is normal to support their purchase and define their love for apple. lol.

I’ve been an Apple fan for as long as I can remember, but the incredible arrogance they’ve been displaying the last few years is seriously pushing me away. This kind of thing is simply unacceptable.

When I met my wife, I warned her that it was normal for it to be slightly bent. But, It worked as advertised so she kept it (and me).

Do be careful though. I'd hate you to go through the hands of Zack.

Returning to the topic. This is actually a real hazard. I am not looking forward to iPad starting fires.

The ipad curve? A bit like those curved TV's and monitors where you get a better viewing perpective.

Why am I not surprised? Apple has been known to pour on the excuses for design flaws.
And if this were to happen with a product from Microsoft, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Google...those same crApple shills would be fueling up their flamethrowers.

Oh it is not an excuse. You just have not attained the wisdom needed to understand Apple. When you have becomed enlightened, then all will be clear. Apple supporters are all in the know and have become aware. It is too far to reach for us mere mortals. Ownership equals attainment of higher ideals which are incomprehensible to outsiders.

Please seek your nearest Apple store and attain enlightment.

Pfft, I could do marketing for Apple. :)

How does this shit even make it past the design phase?

do 12 year olds think it looks cool? check.. can it turn on? check.. does it play candy crush? check.. ok lets slap a 1000% profit price tag on it and send it to market.. apple in a nutshell.

and what bsmithy said, lol.

Yeah, you definitely could!

Apple - Enlightening to the Core!

Intel - umm, why don't you have a seat over there.

You're referring to the exact same thing that Apple's executive and marketing divisions are comprised of.

Really surprised I haven't seen this so far in this fiasco so, here, I created something... different. :D

Customer: "But this car you're selling doesn't have a steering wheel !!!"
Seller: "oh, that's normal. You just pull on these two ropes to steer."

Arrogance

It's what American Business folks are know for these days (not all but perhaps many)

You get stupid enough to pay $1800 for a tablet only to take it out of box and see that! Holy hell, if they refused to replace it, I would lose my shit! Hit the Apple rep right upside the head with it! That thing is bent and not just a little. Glad I don't buy Apple products, now you have to open the box in the store to make sure the bent item is seen coming out of the sealed box.
