My Kryonaut results (not good)

I paid $20 bucks from amazon for a tube after reading some reviews along with a new Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B

Finally got both in my hands for testing out and figure why not share my results. love'em or hate'em.

Additionally I am using a Cougar Vortex 120mm PWM Fan instead of the included Kaze fan (about 3c better and stock fan after testing)

My setup is a 4790k @ 4.6GHz all core (1.233v) and stress tester is prime 95 28.7. Ambient is 21.9c

Peak Temps:
TG Kryonaut: 94c
IC Diamond 7: 89c

TG says there is no cure time but I gave a day anyways and even re-applied a second application with same results. All test were done by the "pea" method and the kryonaut had a good spread each time.

IC Diamond 7 was given the same amount of cure time and is a old tube I got from Microcenter a couple of years ago. Application was the same "pea" method as mentioned above.

Could you post pics of the Kryonaut syringe and packaging etc? I remember there was a rash of counterfeits a while back. Every time I've bought from TG I've gotten it from Performance-PCs and it comes in a branded resealable bag, with the syringe and a rubber spatula applicator (or 2?) included

These pics are the worst but the best my phone will give me.

Thanks for looking!

Looking at my amazon order it was sold by MemoryC and the order was placed on November 28, 2018
. Previously to ordering this back in November I ordered some Conductonaut from MemoryC on newegg to delid this cpu which turned out good.

Looks legit to me. Weird. I'm using Hydronaut on my personal rig, and use Prolimatech PK-3 on our cooler test bench, and both have handily beaten IC when I've used it previously. I'd be tempted to send an email to TG and say WTF

Thanks. Sounds like a good idea.

I do see a note on there webpage...

"Kryonaut uses a special structure, which halts the drying out process at temperatures of up to 80 celsius."

This to me sounds like i'm outside of its temp range and should be using a more extreme cooler?!

Edit:

well looking down further on the specs of the page you can see it says temperature -250c/+350c so that kinda shots my above theory out the door.

I had the same problem . like 8-10c higher temp then the cheap stuff i had. I sent it back and got the cooler master nano stuff. about 10c lower temp..

Big difference in thermal conductivity:
Kryonaut = 12.5 W/mk
IC Diamond = 22 W/mk
IC Diamond "7 carat" = 40 W/mk

Kryonaut is mostly popular by people that don't want to use Grizzly's Conductonaut, and because it has neither a cure time nor a short duration before reapplication (often lasting years)

edit::: Also it works very well in sub ambient cooling and extreme cooling.

But, the cost is high on Amazon because it's mostly resellers, that tube should be closer to $14 normally.
