Here Is the New Hellboy Trailer

Lest we forget, Perlman is knocking on 70 years of age. I don't know how spry his Hellboy would be now.

We didn't need a reboot and needed them to make a 3rd to finish an epic trilogy with Ron. Even without Ron this movie feels way off! I'll probably wait to rent which is a shame because I really like the first two...

Mike Mignola I think I have the first series of Hellboy comics released.

Trailer has the feel of the originals. Why didn't they just continue it instead of rebooting.

I can usually disassociate; I must because it's a given that the political leanings of most in Hollywood are opposite of my own. However, some actors are so in-your-face vile about what they say that I cannot disregard it. Michael Shannon is one such. I used to enjoy his work until he began actively wishing death on those who voted for Trump. Talk like that leaves me unable to suspend my disbelief when I see these people on screen. In Shannon's case, all I can think of when I see him is how I'd like to pound his face in.

I looked up some of the things Perlman said after reading this thread; he's angry and strong in his opinions and obviously hates Trump with a passion, but I didn't find anything which puts me into boycott mode, unless I missed something.

I figure to each his own. Everyone has a right to their opinions. Just because I may not like what someone has to say does not take away from their right to express it. I would rather live in a world where people are free to express their opinion than one where you are afraid to do so.

I also figure going to a movie is not an endorsement for any opinion someone makes while in the course of doing their job. I mean, really, if you look around at the products you own, and think about all the people who have different opinions, from yours, who had a hand in getting that product to you. Seems a bit disingenuous to boycott a movie because one actor has a different opinion than your (collectively) own.

reading is fundamental. But go ahead and think he hurt my feelings if it makes you feel better.

So is comprehension. Thanks for answering my question. Also "Someones" usually doesn't point to a specific person, mainly you.

Hellboy looks bad and not it in a good way. This looks like another desperate attempt at a reboot.

I like Pearlman and he is great as Hellboy but the real loss is Guillermo Del Toro as the director. The first movie was just ok, but was a commercial success which then allowed Guillermo to have full reins on the second installment. The second movie IMHO is a masterpiece as far as action, adventure movies.

Ok I’m sorry, but I did take that to be directed at me. To explain, He’s basically insulted trump voters as subhuman, and anyone who advocates for the 2nd amendment as evil. I can tolerate a lot of ignorance and intolerance from the limousines liberal in Hollywood. When they resort to the radical left tactics of shaming their opponents with baseless accusations and abhorrent labels, I feel that crosses the line. They’ve gone from holding an opinion, to someone who then becomes, for lack of a better explanation, my enemy. My choice of recourse is to not support their projects. Replied on phone so forgive spelling/grammar

So.Tired.Of.Reboots.

Seriously. Every reboot ever is a slap in the face of anyone with an attention span of more than 5 minutes. Continue the story, build on the previous movies, build a world and new characters that we love or hate.... but for f*ck's sake STOP REPEATING YOURSELF WITH REBOOTS!

When your industry is more of an aristocracy than a meritocracy, you're gonna have to reboot shit because nobody is willing to hire people with good ideas. They'd rather hire someone's incompetent kid because their mom or dad is someone important.

He's mad because Ron Perlman says mean things about Trump (and his supporters) on Twitter.

Sounds like both of you need thicker skin, like most of the west these days.

It's not about thicker skin it's about the fact that we're in a capitalist society where entertainment companies are competing for time across mediums. I don't need to watch a movie, I can play game. I don't need to play a game, I can read a book. So shit actors can squeal all they want on social media, which in the end, is just them kissing ass to get a role (a la Shannon) but they forget there are often times consequences for their actions (a la BFV).

And I don't know what you're getting at with "like most of the west these days". If you think there was a magical time when people all loved eachother no matter what, you're ignorant of history. I'm not out marching with a pussy hat or throwing molotov cocktails. I'm just saying "hey I have too many choices to watch some idiot I dislike for 2 hours". If that offends you, maybe you're the one that needs thicker skin.

Most all of my family supports Trump and my brother hates him but they have their opinions and i have mine. (I don't really care either way about Trump or Hillary actually) As for RP, i liked him as Hellboy and wouldn't mind seeing him at it again. (Or Selma Blair as i thought she was hot in the first HB, but then again i like that type of women lol) :wideyed:

Pretty sure every guy likes that type of woman (young, thin, pretty). Not exactly weird kink.

Struck a nerve there. I don't give a shit what some ass hat (even celebrity) says or does, barring egregious offenses like the subway guy. If the product or movie is good, I'll consume it, if it's not, I'll avoid it.

You've added shit actors to the list, when you started with actors that say or do things outside of their acting that you don't agree with, particularly with politics. (Read the post you responded to) Robert DeNero was a fantastic actor, I'm not going to avoid his movies because he's acting like a douche these days.

Do your job, do it well, be the best. If you avoid something spectacular because some guy or girl in the product said something you don't like, yeah, you need thicker skin.

Oh. I wasn't aware of what he said. Eh, its to be expected from any actor in Hollywood now days. They have "Reputations" to uphold. Anyone not bashing on the President or the political topic of the week is blacklisted and given the old "You'll never work in this town again" postcard. Which is funny because they basically in the end become what they rally against.

But I do enjoy the free tickets to the freakshow.

I was going to say something about the original Hellboy movie and the original Hellboy comics, but then I realized it was not relevant to this thread. I apologize.

Now, to bring it back on topic ... Trump would make a great Hellboy! THERE'S A MOVIE I'D STAND IN LINE FOR!

[Elizabeth Sherman] "HellTrump, we're being overrun by skeletal liberals! HURRY!"

[HellTrump] (Thumb-typing onto Twitter) "Anubis tries to destroy me. TOTAL FAIL. Dead liberal army would not even be here if Dr. Korrigan had requested funding for a wall outside Gates of Hell."

P.S. He should keep his hair like it is. Some sideburns, maybe only grind the horns down to the last foot or so, extreme tan-in-a-bottle, and he's good.

When they replace Jackman (since he’s done) as Wolverine people are really gonna lose their shit.

I always thought he was too tall for the role - they need to find a short, heavily muscled Frenchman for the role to satisfy me.

they couldn't fund a real Hellboy 3, but they made a reboot?
The story is Del Toro wanted a buttload of money to fund an epic Hellboy 3 and finish up the trilogy, but because the previous movies underperformed the studios balked at funding it.

However the studio figured the franchise still had moneymaking potential, so they abandoned Del Toro's series and rebooted it with a lower budget.

Ron Pearlman can suck it. Liberal asshat! Fine he holds his opinions, but when he resorts to baseless name calling/mud slinging towards other's with differing opinions; these hollywood nitwits get put on my BAN list. I may watch this one now.

You don't watch much then, do you?

God damn librals!!!

New Hellboy looks more like Hellboy from the comics.
Not bad IMO.
Physically I think Harbour is bigger then Perlman, So I think he suits

I'll definitely be going to see it

I think that is the crux of the argument. Hollywood feels like they can say or do whatever they want without consequence because they're the only game in town when it comes to movies. Unfortunately for them there are videogames, books, anime, etc... I canceled my Netflix and it doesn't bother me at all. I can put in more time on POE, Monster Hunter, Insurgency. I am reading a great book series called "Galaxy's Edge", I caught up on 3 new anime series this year. So somehow I managed to fill my free time without watching a single George Clooney or Matt Damon movie.

Pearlman did a good job of bringing the original comic to live action. I think the new guy will take it a step further . It's a win win.
