"Halo Infinite" Developer Has No Interest in a Battle Royale Mode

Over the summer, 343 Studios claimed that the next Halo title, Halo Infinite, would not have any kind of Battle Royale mode. While the popularity of BR titles such as Fortnite continues to surge, 343 reiterated that sentiment in a livestream this week providing insight on how the Halo Infinite Announce Trailer was produced. Infinite is supposed to be an apology to old-school Halo fans that takes the series back to its roots, and it appears the studio hasn’t lost sight of that.

Speaking during a recent 343 Industries-hosted Mixer stream, leads Jeff Easterling and James Bachici were at one point asked about a battle-royale mode in the upcoming Halo game, a quesiton they've likely been getting pounded by since the game was announced earlier this year. To this, Easterling replied: "I'll tell you right now, the only BR we're really interested in is Battle Rifle." For those that don't know: Battle Rifle is one of the more iconic weapons in the series.

i would have said good, but to be frank, Halo got one of the best setups for battle royal game, if done correctly, but still good though, nough with this genre, more rpg, adventure plz

Hopefully they bring back a well done firefight mode as well. Like ODST style with good maps.

Funny enough, Halo2 and 3 had huge maps and King of the Hill game modes with scattered weapons and vehicles to pick up and limited lives... So...

Also used to have Local multiplayer. Now everyone no longer bothers, its a shame because now if my friends and I want to play we all have to bring our consoles and a monitor to whoever is hosting.

People really get upset about additional game modes? Probably should get rid of deathmatch (or FFA for you new kids) since all it is is a copy of doom and every other multiplayer game
