^^ Really not an issue on private servers... admins just permaban assholes. I could care less if the pub servers remain the zoo they are.
 
Then you'll have idiots complaining about being "kicked for no reason" or complaining to Origin support that something's wrong with their game. It seems like videogame designers have collectively decided that its easier to just assume every player is 9 years old when making their design choices.

Its a dilemma that DICE has tried to deal with before, there never ends up a perfect solution. On BF3 you had hardcore servers but then to deal with TK'ing a lot of servers had a plugin that let people !vote on kicking someone that TK'd them. These always turned into chatbox spamming circlejerks, eventually it was less headache to just play non-hardcore.

The best way to handle this is to make TKs not count as a death. That tends to piss people off. It is also the main reason why trolls TK. Some people don't care much about their score, but at least half of players do. Yeah some people will still be upset especially if they're TKed a lot in a short time span but it would certainly keep many heads cool.
 
I've been playing on med settings with dx12. noticed some trees looked really blurry till I got closer to them. probably cause of med settings. but I switched to dx11 and blurry trees are gone and fps seems about the same. grass and things just look sharper. I feel like its easier to see enemies like on twisted steel with all its foliage.

also like the panzerstorm map, very classic bf map compared to the others. on another note, I havn't been playing support at all. but I picked up someones mg42. holy crap that gun is insane. that fire rate just nukes people instantly.
 
ive also been playing on med but dx11 and i noticed yesterday when i started up BF1 how much more smoother it was even using ultra settings. i run gsync on a 2080 at 1440. its like gsync isnt really working even tho at med i avg about 130fps. to me now BF1 looks and feels far superior to BF5.

do you have ambient occlusion set to HBAO or SSAO? i accidentally set it to SSAO and everything more than 5 ft away was blurry as hell.
 
Some maps sure seem to have bigger fps dips than others. Has anyone done some recording as to which ones are the worst? The game definitely hitches and freezes at times. I have had a few ctd and server crashes lately.

This explains a lot....was questioning how people knew where I was at times when I would get a kill behind a corner, etc and then instantly be "targeted" and "tracked" by anyone around me.

I'm kind of enjoying Domination. I like the damage model as it feels like BF4 hard core. Really can't stand conquest. It is as if DICE hates vehicles in BF1/5. Not looking forward to TTK changes honestly... at least in Domination.

Better than BF1? Yes. Better than 3/4? No. I wish they'd focus on making more vehicle oriented maps and allowing servers to run those. And re-balance the vehicles. I can easily expend my 500 MG rounds on infantry in a tank in just a few minutes. Even BFBC2 seemed to have a more vehicle focus in Conquest than BF5.

thats how I read it. current ttk is going to become hardcore. but I'm thinking they will make it faster than it is now cause they said "evolve over time". they made a post on twitter about the ttk update and almost every reply says not to change it, so hopefully they know the majority dont want it changed.

the big weapon update from last week really didn't make any huge changes that I felt, and I was a lvl 20 medic before it came out. so hopefully these are just minor tweaks. sometimes I do feel like I get killed so fast, and other times I feel like it takes a little too many hits to kill someone.
 
^^ You leveld medic to 20?? You should get a medal....those guns are sooo bad.

The current TTK fels like arcade mode to me.. 3 hits with a sniper SLR to get a kill??? That ain't hardcore and it sucks that even it will be limited to Conquest now.

On getting killed fast.. thats the high ROF+hi dmg assault weps. I've been goofing with the Melling for a few hrs.... pretty fun to be crusin with a side by side.
 
The MP40 is an absolute fucking BEAST! I can scope people from one mountain to the next on the map with bridge connecting 2 sides together.

i only like domination because there's no fk'ing planes.. other than that it's just a sniper fest 90% of the time.

yeah, the mp40 is my goto for the open maps. and tommy gun with 50 round mag for the close quarters. the mp34 may be better than the mp40 for long range, but I havn't put specializations into it to know for sure.

Glad they took that out. It's pretty lame to be spotted like that. I don't mind if someone has eyes on me but that is just stupid.
 
BF4 has you on the map if you fired unsuppressed- sniping on rooftops means that you're mortar bait.
 
Well, I was wondering how someone was seeing me once I fired my gun... its like bullets coming at me from all directions.

HOW MANY BULLETS WILL I NEED TO KILL SOMEONE NOW?

In practice, the maximum damage is now lower for most weapons. This means that it will take on average one more bullet to kill with the weapons that are affected.

The distances at which you will need more bullets to kill will also be affected. Like the table above, here is how it changes now with the original TTK equivalent in (bold parenthesis).

Semi Auto Rifles:
  • Gewehr 43, Selbstlader 1916: Drop to 4 Bullets To Kill around 39 m (never).
  • Turner SMLE: Drops to 4 BTK around 28 m (50 m), 5 BTK around 68 m (never).
  • Gewehr 1-5: Drops to 4 BTK around 13 m (30 m), 5 BTK around 44 m (50 m), 6 BTK around 63 m (never).
  • M1 Carbine: Drops to 5 BTK around 39 m (50 m), 6 BTK around 63 m (never).

Assault Rifles:
  • Can no longer 4 hit kill with body shots only.
  • Drop to 6 BTK around 21 m (50 m), 7 BTK around 53 m (never).

LMGs, MMGs:
  • Can no longer 4 hit kill with body shots only.
  • Drop to 6 BTK around 21 m (50 m), 7 BTK around 57 m (never).

SMGs:
  • Can no longer 4 hit kill with body shots only.
  • Drop to 6 BTK around 15 m (25 m), 7 BTK around 32 m (50 m), 8 BTK around 49 m (75 m), 9 BTK around 70 m (never).
  • MP34 does not drop to 9 BTK at range.

Self-Loading Rifles:
  • Will now require one extra shot when hitting the lower body, arms or legs unless the other shot is a headshot.

Buckshot Shotguns:
  • Unchanged: Same damage.

Slug Shotguns:
  • Slightly adjusted: Will deal less damage when hitting lower body, arms or legs.

IMHO this is as softcore as it gets and a step in the wrong direction. What I guess is we're going to see a lot more hipfire with high ROF weps that do the most damage... in short this is becoming a 1 class game.. why would you play a class other than assault if your intent is to kill the enemy? I guess support with a big magazine wep is also still viable.

The change is so fucked they are embarrassed to actually post the BTK number like they did with every other class... instead they get "one extra shot".. adding 2+1=3 got difficult. A sniper SLR will now take at least 3 hits to kill. Nothing says crazy fun more than hitting a target at range with what's supposed to be one of the most powerful rifles in the game twice and watching said target skip off to cover. Would be nice if every change so far did not simply reaffirm that DICE loves sucking the assault class's cock.

We see from our game data that the wider player base is dying too fast leading to faster churn - meaning players may be getting frustrated with dying too fast that they choose not to log back in and learn how to become more proficient at Battlefield V. Changing TTK values in addition to improving TTD elements will help these particular instances and hopefully result in better gameplay experiences for players of all skill levels.
 
What they are going to end up with is 5 year old soccer... bunchball. Entire team moves as a mob because taking the time to flank is simply not worth it as you can realistically only kill 1 target at a time now. It was nearly that with TTK1. With TTK2 it's back to BF1.

Jesus christ. Are they really that stupid? I think the vast majority of people quitting the game are of two of the same category.

- Subscribed to Origin Premier for $15 for one month to try BFV
- The lack of updates within the first month along with the same ol' modernized BF gameplay meant people got bored and stopped playing/subscribing

People quitting because of TTK is laughable. That is NOT the problem with this game.

Largely, my mine gripe with the game that is the same with every game for quite a while now in this series is the general lack of larger sized maps. The game becomes a snooze fest on the infantry heavy maps - And honestly if I wanted an infantry heavy game i'd just stick with CoD.

And BTW, of course someone is going to 'quit' the game when they get killed a bunch. This isn't the reason they are largely going to stop playing the game forever though - It's just the thing at the moment that caused them to take their final 'break' from the game.
 
I played a few hours tonight and the ttk isn't that much different. but hope they bring the old one back. people are really bitching on their twitter and reddit post, so I'd be surprised if they dont. they need to forget about the ttk and bring back the 1942 maps and get game running smoother. I get some nasty stutters a couple times a round, its like I'm low on ram.
 
New TTK blows... just played for a bit. So they managed to (by design) fuck up a game changing mechanic... but the ammo boxes I drop still sink into the ground or floor. great priorities DICE... you should run collectively for king of San Francisco.

Just not enough variety for me. It seems like every time I click match making its forcing me play Arras or Hamada, over and over and over. occasionally I'll get into Devastation which is the only map I really like. Pretty disappointed with the game in retrospect.
 
Just hit the server browser up.. yeah it's still shitty at updating. I've been kinda forced to use it all the time, since every time I hit auto join, I'm getting the old bf3/bf4 bug where there's 4 players in a server.

As long as I can remember. Really freakin annoying with the by design ammo limitation. When I am playing support I get people gettin pissed I will not drop a box.. they don't know the one I just dropped sank into the ground and I cannot toss another for a bit. Seems to help sometimes if you look up before dropping the box.
 
I have been playing since 1942 and this is by far the most disappointing Battlefield release of all time. It is just plain terrible. There is no element of this game that is fun in my opinion.

It is not just the gameplay. The entire game is pretentious. It does not feel like WWII, it does not feel like a bigger, more sophisticated game than 1942. I don't know what this crap is. I'm glad I didn't upgrade hardware to play this.
 
Modern battlefield is the only hope even with COD WWII it looked good but its your Grandpas COD still.
 
So I’m guessing I should just ditch the random ea royalty email I got to get the deluxe edition for 50% off ?

The beta wasn’t bad. At this point I’m just looking for stuff to throw at my 1080Ti @ 1440p
 
I played since 1942 and think its better than every bf game except 1942/bf2/bf3. if you liked the beta you may as well get it. not sure what other mp games are out there that look this good graphic wise that would put your 1080 ti to work. I have 59 hours played and not tired yet.
