Does it exist? Someone had linked to an LG at micro center. I don't live by one and the same monitor on Amazon is $450.

Unlike most tech products monitors seem to vary widely by price store to store.

I'm looking for what the title says, preferably a flat screen. I know there will be plenty of compromise here. But I have loved my Korean Xstar and it's given me 5 good years.

What about Monoprice's "frameless" model? Regular price is $400 and it goes on sale for $350 sometimes. That's pretty close!

They also have this one at $450:

Both are using Samsung's LSM315DP01 VA panel (the one in the C32HG70) and the frameless model appears to be flat.

I've actually been eyeing these for a while but decided to try out using a 43" TV instead. So far I'm liking it a lot but once the shiny wears off, if it's just too big to be practical for me, I'll be looking at these next.

Thanks I always forget about monoprice. I am actually doing the same thing (or did) with the 43" tv. Bought one for my office and used it on my desk for a week. The immersion initially in games was insane. But doing work stuff did just not feel practical. Moving your head constantly just to look around on the screen.
It seems like from a productivity standpoint it would be amazing, but you have to use scaling to actually read the text, and at that point I don't feel like I have much more real estate than my 27" 1440p.

For sure. I've got mine about 30" from where I'm sitting and I feel like it still needs to go back a few more inches. And I've put the scaling at 200% so I can read it without my glasses, so it's effectively a really clear single 1080p display. For browsing, typing and gaming I'm liking it, but I wouldn't want to try doing any real work on it.

Yeah I felt the same it didn't seem much better than 1080p. Sitting back like that would help, my desk is not deep enough so I'm more like 20", not enough.

Maybe they read the forum and wanted to make him happy? :p I wanted a monitor like this for gaming, but I decided that text clarity is more important to me. So, I went 4k.

You're welcome, OP! Did you get it? I hope you like it.

Thanks so much man just pulled the trigger. Been wanting to finally go high refresh rate. Can't wait.

Thanks again for the help everyone, I was at Costco this morning and checked out a couple 32's. Wow! Looks pretty big compared to my 27". Can't wait to try this thing out.
And very glad I was able to get a flat one, the whole curved thing is not for me.

lightsout glad you found one! Post back once you’ve got it, I imagine lots would like to hear user impressions.
So the monitor came in today, fedex had a weather delay but its finally here. I went from 27" with a huge bezel to 32" with little bezel. So that is great. For some reason it feels more like 16:10 than 16:9 at this size. I know its not but I liek the height.

The more I use 144hz the more it grows on me. The black levels aren't what they were on my IPS but thats to be expected.

I will say that hitting 144fps on BFV with a 1080ti is not easy, I mean it can be done for sure but have to turn things down quite a bit.

Nice! How do you like the colors on it compared to your previous display?

I would say color wise the previous display was better. I always thought that the tempered glass gave the image and color more pop than a matte screen. This one looks more like an average tv. Which I am happy with but thats how I see it.
