Fallout 76

I really hope they're taking the feedback seriously....

Hopefully they're working on a 3 Month Plan to "right the ship".

Don't get me wrong, the games playable. But, if they don't get it up to par fairly quickly even the hardcore players will abandon it.

Totally agree. I just now started getting the End-Game part of the game...which they better fix soon.

I also heard they have 6 free DLC's planned too...

They did say that the game can go on forever (play base depending of course im guessing). The first couple DLC's better be free with the current state its in. I have it and I am enjoying it very much, but also have no doubt that it get stale in the future with the state its in.

I am not going to pretend I understand business practices, etc...but this game feels very much like a BETA build of what they had planned. A part of me has been wondering if they pushed it to this year as Bethesada to my knowledge hasn't released anything else this year? Compared to other games they have released in the past...not sure how this one got past quality control....

LOL at new drama, people paying $200 get essentially a vinyl garbage bag for their stuff, and a $5 e-credit for their complaints. But then media reviewers got a nice ass bag as a gift, they even gave nice bags at quakecon. Paying customer though, they got shit. I mean if someone is buying a $200 product your company can put $20 or $30 towards getting a decent bag made. The lowballing shit is just cheap and stupid.

Its like when Jesus turned water to wine....except, its canvas to nylon.....LOL

We'll call it "Marriage at 76"

Grr, when I restore my house from a blueprint, it doesn't rebuild it right. Some of the walls come in rotated 90 degrees from where they should be.

Anyone else run into that issue?

Guess I might have to take another look at my floor pieces and see if I can redo things so it doesn't get "confused".

Does it really bother you that you DiD NOT spend $60 on this game?

Then why the fuck are you here to replicate the million views someone else got off of talking shit on this game?

Failed life.

Frankly I am offended. Sure, it doesn't affect me since I did not shell out the cash for the game. All the same it affects everyone as game companies have their eye on the 6 billion dollars GTA 5 has made and so they scurry to figure out ways to further monetize their games.

Microtransactions ensure that every game that has them is a shittier game. They introduce new "currencies" in the game and ensure that you can only get extremely limited amounts through playing the game. They artificially add grind to the game to make various types of boosters look good. If you are a completionist, well good luck with whatever gambling system the game uses to ensure that people on average will need to throw the dice 20, 50 or 100 times to get that rare item.

Why the hell does this game exist? This is essentially some full price early access bullshit. I am saddened that it used to be that developers worked for the consumers.

Now that model has completely changed where developers work for the shareholders and games are no longer developed with any type of vision but instead as some sort of consumer exploitation mechanism.

That’s........ not completely wrong...... :penguin:

World of Warships, a “free” game that I truly love has cost me more due to micro transactions (many not so damn micro) than probably all games in the past added together.

It’s devestating to the wallet.

But at least I love it and it’s a quality, creative product.

Checked the case on the sales floor noticed there was about 60+ copies of the game for X-Box and PS4 so maybe a 120+ copies with all reduced prices down to 39.00 for the console version.

So for those of you at higher levels...do you tend to run around in Power Armor more often than not? Keeping a stock of fusion cores seems to be the only downside. Do you just hit up all of the power armor locations to farm cores?

You can find random cores scattered, too. They're usually visible on the front of a power generator. Those regen weekly from what I've read, although you can probably server hop to get multiples.
Those kinds seem to be mostly full while it seems like the ones you grab from power armor are at 50% more often than not.
I've got 20'ish cores and plan to go with power armor full-time once I hit level 30. I'm at 27-28 right now. Right now my biggest issue is doing damage. I'm in a weird spot where my weapons just aren't hurting stronger foes enough. The only enemies that really scare me are the level 40+ ones, but it takes a lot of rounds to take down a mid-20's supermutant posse even if I'm able to soak most of their damage.

To be fair, the bag given to Youtubers costs $5 at wholesale, so maybe Bethesda thinks $5 is appropriate compensation by the transitive property.

What weapon type(s) did you spec into? Seems like ammo is easy enough to come by/craft, so focusing on a single gun type exclusively seems to be a pretty solid approach.

I mainly use hunting rifles and shotguns. At one time I had over 1000 rounds of .308 ammo and 500 shotgun shells. I dropped about 1/2 of that for weight reasons and that's when enemies stopped carrying as much of those types.
That's also when I started running out of random resources needed to make additional ammo. Enemy drops (and levels) seem to ebb and flow and right now they're mostly bullet sponges that only drop .38/.45 rounds.
Once the increases stash update kicks in I'll likely going on a massive scavenging run. I also need to figure out how the hell to use some of those "scrap" junk items. It seems like some aren't totally worthless, but I don't know which ones.

So just hit up the train car in Morgantown Trainyard and managed to snag a core from the power armor there, got another one from the power armor in the "trapped building" by Mama Dolce's, and a full one from a fusion generator near that. Gonna be making that a regular run for a while.

A little tip. Mainly I haven't had any issues with players as far as being asshats. But last night I afk'd near the water park to make some coffee and come back and I'm dead and see a guy fully geared in blue Power armor running away. Lost all my gathered goods as he stole them. Next time I'll just log off.

I thought the damage was very little as long as you didn't engage with whoever is attacking? Is that not true?

It's true, but if you totally walk away it's enough to kill a defenseless character. IMO the bigger threat is players that wait for you to die and grab your stuff. That's pretty easy to do since you can monitor their health and location. If you see people under level 15 cruising around the east and southeastern sections of the map - they're in constant danger. Especially in and around the golf course.

A modicum of dread is something you'd think people would understand just comes with the Wasteland territory. It's not a safe space. Granted, someone cheesing and exploiting glitches or game mechanics is total bullshit. But dread = fun.

Of course exploiting glitches or game mechanics for purposes of trolling is something else. Someone cheesing is boring, but legitimate danger and dread can be fun.

I enjoy it. I've had my stuff stolen and I've done the same to others. It's distressing when it happens, but it only affects your misc. stuff luckily. You don't lose weapons/armor/aid/etc.
It sucks when you were rocking a boatload of adhesive, aluminum, lead, etc. though.

For anyone new to the game - the areas to the east become dangerous in a hurry. You'll go from level 5 super mutants to level 50-62 enemies before you know it.

I have about 15 cores right now. They're not as rare as people think. But to answer your question, yes, I'm always in power armor. Then when the fusion core is low, I just exit game and reload and it's back to being full, lol.

If you get a certain amount of those scrap items, you can build bulks at the ammo crafting station. Then you can scrap that bulk for 10 of whatever you made.

Ha, no shit? So your active core just starts at full every time you log in?
Huh. I didn't know that. I'm gonna have to try that!
Yup, lol. It's a bug I hope they never fix.

Also a bug to get an extra 100 carrying space on top of the extra 100 already provided if you do the mission to craft the Excavator power armor (need to be at least level 25). Sometimes I'm at 350, I exit the armor, get back in and it jumps to 450.

Considering I have like 20 cores, I'm just going to rock PA permanently now. I think I have a full set of level 25 armor pieces for mine. So far I've mainly just used it for battles vs. really powerful enemies. Look out Cybertrons and level 62 Supermutants - here I come!

I had to drop a ton, they take up way too much space.

Yea once you start to get near the end-game stuff cores arent an issue. I have 20 on me now, and about 12 full 100% cores in my stash....which i should just stop collecting them!

I am just now starting to need end-game materials. I have the Jet Pack mod for my X01 torso, but I need flux....my god its going to take awhile!

Yeah, fusion cores aren't all THAT rare imo. Just by doing what you're doing (looting, quests, exploring), you're bound to find several here and there over time.

I will say, (For lower levels) at level 45 now, I wish I hadn't used the power armor as much. As nice as it is to have, with certain defensive perk cards, there should only be a few times that enemies will be a bit much to take on without it. And even then, finding a good spot to defend yourself, you should always see your self out of it. Why do this? Defensive perks not only grant extra resistance, but you can easily find great armor pieces that can increase your weight carry, add health regen(saves on those stimpaks and healing salve usage), and xp bonus' as well. Armor piece stats are void once you get in the power armor.

Hitting level 40-60 enemies though? It gets a bit tougher if your armor isn't up to date.

Ya one thing you will notice you will NEED power armor once ya get close to the main story line ending. Specially when you need to go into the fallout zone of a nuke explosion. Ultracite is the best for RAD resistance when it comes to power armor. X01 is the best for ballistics/energy. Also make sure to get the card that heals you when you take Radiation Damage....yea good times.

Not spoiling for anyone, but do not worry about making a set of power armor for T45/51/60 (unless you want it for collection purposes) IMO. You can make a full set of excavator armor if you want since it gives you 100 carry weight (make the level 45 set), but eventually you wont need that.....Of course with the patches coming up in the next 2 weeks things can change.

I am reminded of the starwars battlefront fiasco of last year. That game never recovered. I hope this one does.
