Recommendation for case with someone who has bad hands

Ok so my last case and one I have now is this:

The last time I did a complete rebuild I has a really hard time with the motherboard, and upgrading, or getting behind and replacing the fans or doing anything with the hard drives are a real pain where I don't even want to upgrade anymore.

I am currently sitting with a i5-3570 and really need to upgrade my proc.


Since I did my last build, I have been diagnosed with neuropathy, if you don't know it is bad pain in extremities, and sometimes have a really hard time holding things steady due to muscle issues, so it makes doing things where you have to be careful and line things up just right and routing cables and not getting pain, and on top of that my hands are pretty big.

I would like to build from scratch and get a brand new case, one that is super easy to work in and can last several builds, probably a mid tower if possible, maybe even going full, if that makes it 10x easier, money is not an issue, and would also like something with really good airflow, I am not huge into overclocking to the limits, just a little so definitely have a nice aftermarket cooler.


Any suggestions? I have been looking around, and can't find anything that is exactly what I want? I was looking at those cube case they look easier to work in, but seem to take up a lot more room.

If you have any suggestions I am all ears.
 
They do take a lot of room, I recently downgraded from a Mountain Mods U2-UFO. Its an easy case to work in with room to spare- if you dont mine it needing its own table to sit on.

Personally, if you dont find an actual tower maybe something that is more open would work out? Like a test bench or an open air case? there you would have no limits to airflow or movement everything just mounts up and is easy as pie to route cables and move components as needed.
 
What parts are you wanting to put in it? It may help to know what your parts list is. Are you looking for 3.5" drive storage? Everything going to be on m.2 or 2.5" SSDs?

Recently built in a Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic. The main pain I had to deal with is the sheer number of RGB fans my buddy wanted, cable routing on those was a pain and the two 1080s. There's space for a radiator up top so that makes it easier to get stuff installed. The bottom is a bit crowded if you install fans down there, but connections wise you are really only dealing with front header, maybe USB 2.0 and audio connections. The two changer design gets the mobo on the other side along with drive storage.

I would say it was a pretty easy case to build in, but the more fans you add the more potential you have for cramped quarters.

It looks like it reasonably priced and has plenty of room, with good air cooling?

The only downside might be the weight of the case, compared to what I have, but I guess nothing is perfect.


With my current case (LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B) it is hard to replace a fan in front when it dies, I basically have to remove everything from hard drive cage to get to it. Basically doing anything in the case is so tedious.


My new build looking at one of the new intel chips either i7-9700k or i9-9900k , not sure which mobo yet, but a standard ATX mobo that supports those chips, one graphic card (unsure yet) probably 1080ti or 2080, 16 or 32 GB ram, then two 3.5 mechanical drives that I will move over from previous build, and I just bought a 2 TB ssd drive on cyber monday, so at least one of those, Maybe also one of the m.2, but would like room for at least 2 2.5 SSD so I can expand in future. Also for cooler probably the noctua nh d15 or d14? That is one of the best for air cooling right?

i was also going to ask about the test bench idea?

I don't know.. maybe it is worth it to consider having someone help you with the build.. which kinda stinks on some level, but sometimes asking for help is the way to go?

if you are any where near my self (ventura~ ca ) I'd be happy to lend a hand when you are ready to build something.


something huge (such as my old NZXT H630) is pretty easy to work in.. however it is heavy AF which could be a problem?

Thanks for the offer I appreciate but yeah I am on the other side of the coast. I am thinking at this point that phantek pro seems like a good bet, reasonably priced and from all the videos I watched, I feel like there is enough room in there that will make it a lot easier to do a build

that looks like a nice case.. sorry I'm thousands of miles away.. neuropathy sucks.. my wife has it as a consequence of having chemo.. she has trouble with some tasks due to it.
 
If you haven't seen them yet, you should look at Thermaltake's Core series. They're open air benches that can be mounted vertically like a mid tower. I use one because it shows off hardware and it makes most aspects of custom loop cooling MUCH less of a hassle, but I imagine it would be a much easier "case" for you to build in as well.

Here's an older picture of mine. They come with an acrylic window to keep your stuff behind a barrier, I just don't use it.

I'm using a Corsair Carbide Air 540 that was pretty easy to build in though it is a wide / fatboy case.

The motherboard is in one left compartment and the power supply and most of the drives are in the right backstage compartment. The wires are run through holes with rubber / plastic grommets. Pretty easy overall.

I had some medical issues that limited my ability to use my hands for any kinda of intricate work. I ended up getting a Corsair Graphite 780. It is a very easy case to work with. I think most of the Corsair cases these days will have similar features. I wanted a large case to handle any kind of fan/watercooling and GPU combo I wanted to use, so I went with a tower case. Basically try to find a case that has "toolless" features, especially for hard drives and ssds.
 
ive got neuropathy myself (hands and feet) and can say it is a grade A, pasteurized and processed bitch. the way i have decided to fight it is to make my life as easy as possible in every way shape and form. especially when im building or upgrading in my case. which is pretty much a constant process for me. im stubborn and refuse to give up my wcing loop and i love to find something that needs to be upgraded haha(sound familiar). so i need a case that would house all of my wcing gear(420,360,240,dual pumps) along with an eatx mb and dual gpus. i gave up on using my old and big but not big enough CM HAF-X due to cutting my hands all up after i modded it to accept a new rad. so i gave in to the urge to get a new case. after a very very long and frustrating search i finally found this- thermaltake x71.

its big enough for everything and some! i understand not everyone wants a massive case but for me it was the cats meow! i needed to have as much room as possible, period. the best advice i can give is to PLAN AHEAD and find a good sized case that looks like it will be a great roomy case. then get one EVEN BIGGER! there is nothing i cant do comfortably in my case. the only issue ive had with mine was installing the tubing to my bottom rad after i had installed the psu (makes for a tight squeeze). if i had simply waited to install the psu it would have been easy as pie. other than that i can work on my rig and never have to worry about that one evil connector over there. or dropping a screw into that. or any of the other pita issues we have while building. even that tiny little m.2 screw was easy to install with my magnetic screw driver and headlight! if you dont already have a set of magnetic screwdrivers/or tips get some! a headband light can be a life saver as well. i also wear a pair of mechanics(brand) type gloves when i build to avoid cuts and scrapes. so go as big as you can fit. seriously, get the tape measure out and find a case that takes up every square inch of your allotted case space. gl
