AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.11.1 drivers have been released and they add support for Hitman 2, Battlefield V, and Fallout 76. Hitman 2 saw a performance gain of 3% at 1080p on the Radeon RX 580. Battlefield V gains were more substantial at 8% for the Radeon RX Vega 64 and 9% for the Radeon RX 580 at the 1080p resolution. This driver release fixes issues with the Radeon Overlay that caused intermittent stability and game crashes. The issues with Assassin's Creed: Origins on Windows 7 were addressed and the corruption seen on the water and lava in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus water has been fixed. Issues with Strange Brigade running under DX12 have been addressed.

Known Issues: Radeon Overlay may not appear when toggled on systems with multiple displays when Battlefield V is running. Some systems running multiple displays may experience mouse lag when at least one display is enabled but powered off. Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products may experience elevated memory clocks during system idle.
 
And here we go again with NO driver support for Laptop APU and don't give me that OEM BS they never upgrade HP drivers.... Had my fill of AMD junk, NEVER NEVER again......

What APU do you have? As there are various APU drivers less than a month old, depending on the model. Bottom tier models will get substantially less updates, if any, hence why they are bottom tier and usually much cheaper.
 
R5 2500 U w vega 8 mobile graphics, hp x360 Ryzen 5 two in one AMD has never had any drivers listed and if you run auto detect the Adrenaline software can't recognize it.... HP still only has original driver a year old...

I get strange freezes no BSOD or anything machine just stops working and I have done a scratch install of windows been doing forced inf install but if drivers are not dedicated to support the Vega 8 mobile then it could be the drivers. I have emailed,left surveys with HP and AMD to no avail, I don't even want to use it anymore... with 250 nvme, 16gb ram and a 2TB micron ssd lot of cash tide up here...... Understand why I have lost my respect for AMD now?.....

Not understanding why you are blaming AMD for an HP problem, as your APU is ONLY supported thru the manufactures. It appears they are using windows updates.

Why does everyone here defend AMD? is this the house of fanboys and AMD can do no wrong? Everyones knows OEMS are worthless at supplying drivers. In the end the chip manufacturer has a responsibility to the end user also. IF that's not the case why does Intel and Nvidia supply generic drivers? I'll tell you why. AMD doesn't care about the of end user passing the support buck to oem manufacturers. We as consumers deserve better than this. AMD will never see another dime from my wallet. Yes I am angry about this and that is my opinion......

Please see my previous post, I updated it with a solution for you. It isn't about defending AMD, it is just making sure the blame is put in the right place. Some chips are directly supported by AMD, some are not. You unfortunate have one that is not, and is only supported thru the manufacture. which it appears is being only supported thru windows updates.


As for your response that chip manufactures have the responsibility to the end users for every chip they manufacture. That is incorrect, as we have hundreds if not thousands of product on the market that are only supported thru the product manufactures. This includes Intel, Nvidia , Samsung, Micron, and many others. They do not support every chip they manufacture directly be it CPU/GPU/APU/Memory/motherboard chips etc.

Your just justifying a crappy companies lack of support. It's wrong and we as a society has been conditioned to accept this garbage. To paraphrase an old commercial The quality goes out before the name goes on....

It has nothing to do with crappy support, it is all part of low budget chips for low budget devices. They sell them to the OEM's (in this case it was HP) to build their their low budget devices with the stipulation that the OEM's are fully responsible for ALL support, including drivers. Every Chip manufacture does it. You are just pissed because HP appears to have dropped the ball, so you want to lash out at AMD. But, in reality HP didn't drop the ball as they are using Microsoft's updates to distribute the drivers or some other arrangement has been made that windows is to supply the drivers for that particular chipset. Either way, the drivers are there for you. Now the question is, did you take the time to download them and install them or are you just going to continue bitching about AMD, who really has nothing to do with your problem?
 
Hmm, yes blame OEMs, except this is bad for AMD. Why should anyone buy a AMD APU over a Intel CPU with iGPU instead if the driver support is gonna be about the same? Or why not a Intel CPU with a Nvidia GPU that Nvidia offers updated drivers for? (As far as im aware, Nvidia supports all GPU parts they make equally, that is, you go to them for driver packages.)
 
So are you stating that if I were to install the original HP driver it would automatically update using the drivers from Microsoft update?

I have a 15.6" 2700u version of the HP x360 and I can feel your pain on the lack of proper updates but that's on HP. It's still the best ryzen 2 in 1 laptop IMO which is why I bought it knowing the driver situation was less than ideal, of course I also don't mind mucking around with force installs and researching what version to use.

Your issue sounds more like a hardware problem to me. The only similar graphics driver issue I'm aware of is the one related to Windows build 1803 changing the way sleep functions which can cause a BSOD when using GPU acceleration after coming out of sleep, from what I've read the graphics driver from august on HP's website or the august 6th driver on MS update catalog fix this and are all around the best current drivers. I believe both need to be force installed but I can't confirm because I haven't had any issues so I haven't bothered with it yet.
 
I have an old dell 2010 laptop, intel cpu/igpu. Dell won't let me install a 2014 Intel driver for the igpu and the latest they offer is a 2012 one. Do I blame Dell or Intel?

It should be doing it automatically unless you have disabled driver updates on your system. Since it seems it is not, you should go to the link that I posted above and download it/install it.

So how about cell phones 2 yrs. or none who do we blame? You took the time to look up a potential fix the least he could do is try it before crybaby about the lack of support from HP. Millions of chips are out there how many get any support?
