Nvidia drivers 416.81

Pretty disgraceful that there is shitty/no SLI support in this game day 1. This is frostbite and is very capable of running very good SLI scaling yet it's garbage in their AAA brand new showcase game? So I have to fuck with SLI bits now and probably deal with some aspect of flickering or bugs as a result of using an unapproved SLI hack. Great. Great job Dice,Ea and Nvidia. Love it.

I had to use compatibility bits in the beta but I figured in the retail they would have it up and running for sure.

Oh and what's ironic is Bo4 has/had out of the box SLI working great day 1. Imagine a cod game with SLI support and working well day 1. Yet Dice add battlefield nope. Pretty annoying and disappointing.

It was the same with BF1 and Crossfire for months when that game was released for DX12.

MGPU sucks no matter the video card anymore. Your scolding of NV is misplaced.

I don't blame devs for washing their hands of SLI. It's never been more than a niche base, and has been spiraling towards obsolescence for the past few years.

Considering SLI 2080Ti will set you back almost 2500USD, its pretty ridiculous for most people to afford it.

Unless you get the $999 2080Ti version at EVGA with some coupons ;)

Drivers look good so far.

One issue I hope is fixed is that I get a black screen sometimes when waking from sleep. It usually happens overnight, if I sleep and wake really quick it's fine.

I think that is the last issue right now for me with the 2080 Ti. Otherwise everything looks great.

Played for last few hours, so far so good. Driver set works. Multi monitor power consumption is still high. Wonder if running 120hz ULMB really eats up that power on the desktop only.

Your wrong. Mgpu works great in Most AAA games. This engine handles SLI very well if they just put in the effort to get it to work. My scolding is hardly misplaced. Nvidia charges a fuck ton of money for their shit thus I expect it to work. Guess I'm crazy.

I used MGPU setups many times and I had issues with SLI or CrossFire in at least half of the games I played. I upgraded to my 980 Ti in 2015 from 290X CrossFire because there were still multiple bugs in major games like the Witcher with CrossFire. Since then it seems both CFX and SLI support has only gotten worse.

It's not worth it unless you have essentially an unlimited budget.

On that note, played 3 hours of BF V with these drivers so far. No major issues. Performance is a little wonky sometimes but that seems to be the game itself, rather than the drivers.

I’ve been using SLI like a lot of people in this forum over the years for a very long time. For the most part and most games that I care about which are most AAA games it has worked pretty good overall. There are some games that are problematic of course. However frostbite is usually not one of them. Sli support usually works very well and scales very well yes it has bugs we all know that it doesn’t scale perfectly but it puts me in the sweet spot where I like to be FPS wise that I simply could not get with one 1080 TI. And I refuse to give Nvidia 11/$1200 for 2080 TI simply refuse. That said yes I stand by my statement Nvidia charges a fuck ton of money for all of their shit and I pay it and have been paying it for years. I fully expect them to work alongside with dice and have Sli working day one on this triple a title. I do not think it’s a miss placed feeling and I do not think that I'm miss guided in what I’m ssuing. If they aren't going to support the tech anymore then they need to come out and say so. If not I want what I've been paying for period.

Never been a fan of SLI. nvidia has had weird issues with gpu usage at idle with 2 gpu in the systems I built in the past.

Sleep seems to work now.

Also, I like SLI overall (but it is sort of a love hate relationship).

Gamed all weekend long hours of BLOPS 4 no issues with these drivers.

There’s a long history of mGPU and it sucking on launch and randomly after patches including with DICE games. Your... not sure if I should call them hopes... are misplaced.
