Sony Has Announced the 20 Game Lineup for the PlayStation Classic

Lucky for me I still have my discs for this and I can play them on my PS3 anytime I want. Its a seriously under rated game and I wish it would have been more popular so it could have maybe gotten on sequel.

Yeah i ripped my discs and play it on my PC. The voice acting is painful and I do wish the combat had a little more to it. Good story though. I should see if anyone's gotten a Japanese version with English subtitles made yet

i don't understand all these classic consoles. while I can see 8-bit or 16-bit maybe coming out as ok now, no way once you get to 3s graphics that i would be able to stand a 20 year old game.

sony, Nintendo, commador64 ….I am sure there are more.
Can these companies come up with a new idea?
Do they really need to bleed our money for this OLD crap.
if they want to sell cool stuff add this to the new systems .
why make us pay for stuff almost to old to even play things.
It would be a cool bonus but not something I would pay for again.

original with or without analog?

Without. The DS4 is the only dualshock controller I've actually liked. The PS1 version just felt like they slapped the sticks on the original controller without much thought or redesign. The DS2 was basically the same thing with better feelings buttons. The DS3 felt like a cheap piece of shit, better than the Sixaxis but still crap.

When is the retro PS3?
You joke, but since my original 60GB fat console died I would pay money to Sony if they made the original again, with Other OS and PS2 backward compatibility intact. Or they can just focus their efforts and make the PlayStation 5 able to play every PlayStation game made ever.

I remember my last Christmas with my mom we were dirt poor but she wanted me to be happy so she went out and got a Sears Card and got a PS1 and Final Fantasy 7 which had just launched. I was so freaking excited until I realized hours in that it needed a save card which we didn't have money to buy so I played it 3 days straight before the power randomly went out and I lost my game like 30 hours in. Sadness.. I think I ended up just stealing one from electronics boutique.
That's some therapy worthy shit right there. Man, I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Yeah, original DS controllers felt a little small for me and uncomfortable after extended periods of use.

I do remember the original Dual Analog controller (released right before the Dual Shock with multiple modes) had larger handles than the original DS.

No The Legend of Dragoon? Fail
How is it a fail. That game was a huge commercial and critical failure. It was touted as the final fantasy killer and flopped big time. I don't hate the game but it was completely unmemorable.

Isn't unmemorable to a whole bunch of people, but it was a commercial failure.

The Dualshock sucked. The original PS1 controller and the DS4 are the only good controllers Sony has ever made.

Yeah I think the PS1 was the last console that made me immediately buy a third party controller.

If I can load other PS1 games via SD then ok. Otherwise, nah, emulate.

Sony will never do this because they know people will buy the ps4 and ps5 either way.

They'd never do that last one. Money to be made on the PS2/3/4 classic in 5/10/15 years time lol.

I still have my 60GB original Ps3, still works. I replaced the thermal paste in it years ago with some MX-4, at the time it reduced noise a touch, or extended the time it took at least to get hot, but I think long term it may have stopped it from overheating? Given most 60gb originals have died... either I'm lucky (especially considering mine was bought second hand in the first place), or the paste helped. Mind you in Aus the PS3 backwards compatible version was a software emulation, not a hardware chip. I've had problems playing 1-2 PSX games, PS2 have all been fine. That said I also have a PS2 slim anyway so I'm covered!

When are we getting a retro Switch? Already have a working Switch emulator on PC so therefore there needs to be a retro Switch console to purchase for $100.

Whoever was in charge of curating that list needs to be fired.

Out of a cannon.

Into the sun.
YesY that is a pretty disappointing list honestly. Literally the best games are the ones they announced. The rest is largely crap. No Chrono cross? No parasite eve? No ffviii? Get the fuck it of here. Those three alone were still bigger than 15 of the games on that list.

Disappointing list, no Colony Wars, no Wipeout, including Rainbow Six, etc.

No buy from me.

It would be great if these devices had an "HD" mode. Just adding texture filtering makes a HUGE difference in IQ. Add 1080p, widescreen and AA while you are at it. You know, things you take for granted on PSXemu.
