A $13 billion net worth was wiped off of major cryptocurrency markets this morning. Bitcoin is still down 4.3% and Ethereum is down 11.98% as of posting this. This all comes on the back of the International Monetary Fund warning of Crypto problems to come due to rapid growth and threats to economies.

Our favorite eSports betting crypto, Unikoin Gold, is down 9% and is at an all-time low for the year. It seems that there is no coming back for Rahul Sood's crypto scheme after the recent lawsuits against the coin.

Continued rapid growth of crypto assets could create new vulnerabilities in the international financial system.

I can tell you that I lost several months salary on the stock market in the last 2 weeks. Although I have no plans on selling anytime soon. Additional buying maybe.

Keeping your wits about you is critical. Well-played.

Given the artificial price manipulation based on canceled sell offers to bolster value, I would say this scheme is also dead as it is now being carefully monitored on traded exchanges. (It invalidates the legitimacy of the exchange as a commodity and wipes out it's appeal on the stock market if they allow fraudulent activity, not to mention the fury of the SEC, whom love lawsuits) And those guilty of it will be bent over for it if they keep it up. And I do mean bent over [H]ard.

I'll be lucky to turn 3% this year. I was looking at 8% just two weeks ago. I would have been happy with anything above 6.4%.

Opportunity... now is the time to buy, even cryptos. all time low for the year? buy buy buy... give it a week or two, sell.

Crypto has been dead about 4-5 times already.. Has it not ? You just have to hodl …….;) It aint for everyone and hating it wont make it go away :) I hear praying works....:D

I warned all my friends to jump out before it caved past 15K ... the only person I know that listened to me was .... myself. And no, I didn't have a great amount.

I actually did really well with Ethereum but that was short lived.

Also, an interviewer asked The Woz if he dabbled in Crypto Currency and if he had lost any money when all the value came crashing down and he said yes but that it had sold most of it but did keep a bit to play with. Of course this is not word for word what was said but close. What he said that really caught my attention was as an investor, your job is to make money. You sell when you can make good money. Basically taking a shot at all the people that hung on to Bitcoin when it was up to 18K or whatever and started to come down. Lot of kids can mine but very few of them have investor level smarts. I find so many people, the majority that are emotionally attached to everything they own. You cannot do that. You have to have the mindset that everything is for sale for the right price. Works beautifully for me.

I also had a system I was selling, and this was several months ago, maybe close to a year ago, don't remember. But I had a kid ask me if I would take bitcoin for a system I had on Craigslist and I said sure. He offered 3.5K which was maybe a $200 profit but I countered with 4K in bitcoin and that I would do the deal for that amount of bitcoin on top of, I want to use the bitcoin in front of him to order all my new parts from Newegg back when Newegg took bitcoin as payment which they may or may not still do. This was when it was impossible to get a 1080 Ti because of all the miners but he didn't know I had a handful of 'em in the basement. He wouldn't do it and then the price really started to sink after that. Within 5 or 10 days he lost a ton of money. I keep texting him .... lets do this ... lets do this or you will lose even more money. He kept preaching how it would bounce back and that in 2019 it would be worth 50K a coin. I just laughed at him. I'm sure he lost a lot of money. He could have had my system for free considering his loses.

Until yesterday, I was up quite a bit. Still up a bit, but I was up 10% or so for the year. Still up a bit YTD, but honeslty I don't care. I invest for 3-5 years out. Market goes up. Market goes down. Rinse repeat.

I'll bite when it hits $200 (and still likely lose everything). Those winklevoss twins should have sold when it was near 20k.

I was up 18% on two of my index funds at one point. But I'm a little more aggressive than most. If I can hit that magical 20x's number, I can retire indefinitely.

I lost about 15 grand today in stocks.
And about $200 in crypto :p

I don't know about every indivdiual investments/ETFs offhand, but looked up a couple I bought this year and ORLY and Shire are up 30-40% since I bought them (in February, I assume, but didn't look at that). But I have losers like Ford (though if they don't cut the dividend, the current 8 or 9% yield is huge) and Celgene has underperformed, but I still think it's a solid long term investment. Might buy more of it and sell the old purchases for a loss.

We won't see big changes in crypto for a few years. But, looking forward to the day when we use Bitcoin (or something similar) to pay for everything.
In 80's, who would've thought that today computers would be in our pockets? We're slowly but surely moving towards a global economy. In 30 years when millennials have taken over basically everything, the world will be a much different place. A better place.

The stock market is due for a correction, I can’t see it going last 30k and maintaining that. I’ve been trading crypto waiting on the crash to jump in.

Thanks for the laughs.

The even funner thing is that Millennials are already hitting 30 years old-so in another 30, they will be looking at retirement-if they can.

Seems like most compliants are with Gen Y which where born in the very late 1990s or early 2000s.

I plan to hold at least a little bitcoin at that time.
