Does anyone else here think that Samsung is an absolute shit bucket company.

Don't get me wrong the note 9 I have is a nice phone but they are one of the most awful companies I have ever seen for customer service, treating their customers right, taking care of customers, keeping promises, and just general basic decency.

I am asking as to make sure I am not some wierd outlier and that indeed they are a total bucket of excrement as a business.

have you ever used sony or apple? I think samsung customer services its one of the best i have ever received on a phone company, and the customer services for TV are just even better... everything I have needed to make a call to samsung service or go directly to a service center the attention and solution has been wonderful..

No. Over all, I think Samsung is a good company.

Samsung is complete crap. Does everybody forget the phone batteries on fire already?

I've had 3 Samsung products that failed in the last few years. I had two samsung phones that failed right out of warranty. They offered to fix it, but wanted a $75 deposit just to take it, then another 3 weeks to repair it and whatever cost that would be for the repairs. Then I had a samsung tv that died after 3 years.

I will never ever ever ever buy another samsung product again.

And rightfully so ...

I wish more companies wouldn't have this attitude towards consumers on where they are based if you are lucky to get the right people on the phone or answer your email and sometimes admit that even when the time is up on your guarantee their product should (baring any obvious self inflicted damage) still function normally for a lot longer then 3 years (mobile phones excluded).

Having said that so far not a single problem with Samsung (TV,SSD,memory card & monitor) this far.

Oh oh, you will be buying a new TV and new monitor soon.
Nope, I used to have a 2012 TV which I replaced this year and the monitor is even older I bought that one at the time when I purchased my R9 290X.

I am not going to explain the note 9 fuckover they have caused with me. I will leave it at, they're a bucket of shit for a business and are dead to me as a company as far as me being a consumer. Oh and I do remember my Note 7 having to be recalled because it was going to explode and burn me or my house down.

Not bad, not great. Had an experience with them when I had to get one of my previous LED TVs repaired. Took about a week, but got taken care of. However, I had to jump through some hoops and talk to about 5 different people.

The only other time was when my Galaxy S8+’s microphone failed after 2 weeks. I told them I wanted a new replacement unit since it was literally only 2 weeks old, but they refused and only offered a refurbished model. I then returned the broken phone to T-Mobile after some arguing.

Best customer service experience I’ve had is with Apple. Used them to replace an Apple Watch under warranty and a replacement was delivered to my doorstep literally the next day no questions asked.

I use Apple, and it kicks Samsung's everloving ass, at least if you're near an Apple retail store.

I haven't had many issues with Apple gear, thankfully (only one time where it wasn't my fault), but when I have gone in for an iPhone accident replacement they were top notch and had a replacement for me on the spot. No spending an hour on the phone, no waiting days or weeks for a replacement, no back-and-forth between the OEM and the carrier.

For that matter: it actually focuses on decent phone support that isn't just reading from a script. Not that they're seasoned technicians who just happen to work the phones, but they won't ask you to reset your device for the third time in a row. I can't speak for their chat help.

My issue with Apple support (other than that it can get very expensive if you don't have AppleCare) is simply that the quality deteriorates if you don't live in a country with its fullest support. When you have to go through a third party to get your device fixed, or talk to support on another continent? That sucks... you're at the level most other people have to endure.

Cannot have a houshold without Samsung these days.

Let me see... One monitor, more than a decade old, still works. Fridge, almost 9 years, works. SSD - new, so it better continue on working. 1TB HDD, failed after about six months almost a decade ago. Had original Note, took an unbelievable amount of beating and drops, but made it to Note 4 - still works, the best Note. B-die ram in my PC - works as advertized. Who knows what else.

Overall, positive to very positite (original Note). Going forward, not buying any phones until they change their design philosophy. Fridge - would buy again. RAM - will buy again almost certainly. Monitor/TV, most likely not, unless something right comes along, but not in the market right now.

I own a Samsung TV and washer/dryer combo. All perform very well and I'd have no problem buying such items from Samsung again.

However, I'll never buy another Samsung phone. The only one I ever liked was the Note 5.

Never had a problem with Samsung quality. I have a TV that is over 10 years old a couple of monitor that are over 5 being used by family members I passed down too. Had a galaxy s5 which was solid the entire time til my sister-in-law tried to take it from me too Snoop and bent it.

Unhappy with Samsung? Simple: Don't buy their products. Wipe your eyes, adjust your panties, and move the fuck along.

You are missing the point. The OP simply asked if anyone else felt the way he did with Samsung, its not a bitch party.

They're a decent company desperately in need of talented UI/UX designers.

I have had my fair share of Galaxy phones over the years. Never impressed.

Even the mighty S8+ had Lagwiz still. And the duplicate of Google apps from Samsung is ridiculous and pointless. And then the bloatware, wow so much crap apps preinstalled. And the curved edge screen is not comfortable and more of a gimick to me.

I'll take Pixel phones first, OnePlus second.

I have had numerous Samsung products. Frankly, almost all of them have had no issues at all (4 monitors, 1 TV, 6 SSDs, etc. all with zero issues). However, early on I bought a Samsung digital camera which came with a bunch of proprietary cables. That was a bit of a nightmare, especially when I had problems with it. Support wasn't necessarily bad, but it was annoying that I had to go through support to replace a cable that could have easily been a standard cable.

As for phones, I called them about missing an SPen on my Note 4 and they sent one out free for me.

So I can't say I have experienced problems that other people have, but there are always poor CSRs that misrepresent the company. And occasionally there is shit policy pushed down that is poorly thought out and executed.

You are missing the point. The OP simply asked if anyone else felt the way he did with Samsung, its not a bitch party.

Hey, I think this company is crap, who else thinks so too? Lol, that is the very definition of a bitch party.

Apple is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I've worked in mixed PC / Mac environments many times. I've had just as much trouble out of Apple products as I have anything else. The difference is, HP or Dell kicks ass when it comes to warranty claims on enterprise and workstation equipment. When you have to contact Apple, they seem surprised you would use their products for business and have absolutely no idea how to handle that. They make you just through stupid hoops like an end user to do anything and they have horrendous wait times to get parts and "technicians", (a term I use loosely) out for service. I had to have my Apple ID reset for my other job because I hadn't used it in a while and my original work iPhone got stolen. Because I didn't have the trusted device anymore, I couldn't get the reset instructions sent to my phone, which I couldn't set up without the AppleID password. I couldn't make a new one because you can only have one per Apple ID and they made me wait 30 fucking days to go through "account recovery." I called their support, looked for an Apple rep for the company (which doesn't exist) and no dice. I had to wait the full time with a work phone I couldn't use.

I've worked as a service technician repairing them back in the day. Their shit can be more difficult to work on than others on average. Plus dealing with Apple from the perspective of a service technician isn't any easier. I've probably dealt with all the biggest names in the computing industry at one time or another over the last two decades and Apple is easily among the worst for just about anything you can imagine. Its a company that thinks its customers are too stupid to make their own choices and locks shit down. They tell you whether or not you deserve to have an audio jack or what you can and cannot use your phone for. The company couldn't care if you use your system for work or not and it can't even be bothered to employ courteous professionals at their call centers.

Then there is the fact that they use Foxconn and don't seem to care how the company gets Apple's products built. Its funny that people seem to hold Apple in such high esteem and trash Microsoft and Bill Gates when Apple has had worse business practices and Steve Jobs gave jack shit to charity while Bill Gates is easily up there as one of the most charitable individuals in recent history.

As far as Samsung stuff goes, I've yet to have any major problems with anything products I've bought from them. I can't speak to Samsung customer service as a result.

Have yet to have an issue with Apple customer service, same with Sony if we exclude anything that deals with the Playstation. As for Samsung, nothing they have ever done has ever fixed an issue I've had with them and if its about a phone I had the worst service I think imaginable.

I'm with the OP, won't be buying more Samsung products. I like to diversify my electronics, I don't deal with a single brand, I have no use for brand loyalty but for a company with a track record like Samsung, they can go kick rocks.

My over priced gear icon X earbuds that have almost zero volume out of one side and hundreds of other similar complaints on the Samsung forums says I agree..

Funny they got such high remarks in everything OTHER than connection reliability, which is kind of important...

Oh they conenct fine every time to either my S9+ or my iPhone X... They worked fine for the first 6 months or so, then one day just no freeking sound from just the right side which is what I use almost exclusively (work headset is covering my left)

I have LG fridge, TV, washer, and dryer; GE dishwasher; and my Samsung mobile devices have been Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, Focus, Focus S, and Galaxy S3, then I swear off Samsung mobile devices for a while until I got the ultra lag phone Samsung Galaxy S9. I have a Samsung monitor and 2 SSDs.

I won't buy any Samsung mobile devices until they release a touchwiz that doesn't require all of your normal size flagship phones' memory.

Their forcing of Bixby on their smartphones makes me mad. They just want to get in on the data game like everyone else. Certainly not something anyone asked for.

Their proprietary preloaded software makes transfering to other android phones difficult (hard or imposible to export calendars, etc..) A real Apple move there too. They'd just as quickly love to be the next Apple if they could.

Samsung is shit. Their products are flashy and cool, but support is lacking and in the case of their appliances, longevity is questionable.

We have a Galavy View tablet in our kitchen- it has had ZERO significant updates since it was released and is no longer supported. Check out th Samsung product forums for their various refrigerators that have the built-in Tizen tablet- after a year Samsung has already discontinued support. It’s a fucking fridge, not some $49 POS tablet! Unfortunately this is par for the course for Samsung, and anyone who has even purchased a phone from them, it’s questionable when (or even if) you’ll ever see the next major Android release on your phone. I’ve purchased enough Samsung products to learn my lesson- never again.

I liked how Samsung had the courage to give the 850 Pro Series of SSDs a 10 year warranty.

Samsung is a pretty big ass company. I doubt their smartphone division has much interaction with the memory, refrigerator, television, and washer/dryer divisions.

Even though I think Samsung's Galaxy apps are a steaming pile of garbage, I don't think that has much to do with anything else they make.

I think Samsung phones are terrible. I can't see why anyone would ever purchase any phone that isn't running either stock or can't be flashed to stock.
Samsung phones are filled with bloatware and have locked down bootloaders. Why wouldn't I buy a Nexus/Pixel phone? All of the features, slice of the price, all of the updates. And the absolute best software experience.
===
But also, as others have stated, their cellphone division doesn't necessarily reflect on the rest of their products. A lot of tech companies have partnerships with them. They are one of three companies that actually makes ram chips (the others being Micron and Hynix). Chances are you have at least some products that use their IC's or memory. They are also one of the few companies that are making the solid state chips. As well as one of the few making OLED panels or LCDs for that matter.

The irony is I feel that most of their "complete" products aren't as good as their competitors. But their parts for sourcing is some of the best there is. I do like their SSD's. Their TVs are generally quite good (depending on model, panel, controller, etc). I have no interest in any of their monitors. And I probably wouldn't buy any large kitchen appliance from them (as I prefer others), but I'm sure they are at least competent (as it's likely they are the biggest player in their domestic market).

I avoid everything samsung the only thing I have is a SSD that does kick ass. Would never use one of their phones but phones are all junk now anyway with the 2:1 ratio BS. Pixel 2 might be the last smart phone I bother with the way it's going. Prices are dumb and they kill the previous year models so you can't buy them new at a discount a year later...

Many, many, many years ago I think Samsung as a really good quality company. But with success and the need to compete aggressively, it's definitely not the company it once was. With that said, they are "ok".

I'm not a fan of Samsung, but I wouldn't call them pathetic. At least not nearly as much as Apple is with them cheaping out on fast chargers and headphone adapter coming with their current phones, or trying everything within their power to keep their users from repairing their own hardware by locking it down to ridiculous levels while severely over-charging for repairs themselves.

Ah yes, Samsung.

Just google "Galaxy Note S-Pen broke."

I love having a stylus pen, and Galaxy Note series is the best. Seeing all that just makes me want to avoid future Samsung Notes. I think they knew about the flaws and kept it a secret so that we can shell out more money for a replacement. Greedy bastards. Btw, the pen is not covered by their warranty. Not covered by warranty + common problem + making consumers pay at their expense + leaving this flaw uncorrected in later iterations = shady business.

I avoid Samsung equipment like the plague. I know lots of people love their stuff, but it's like I have some sort of curse.

I had a Samsung HDD fail days after the warranty expired, and they wouldn't replace it. I've had Samsung RAM modules fail right after the warranty expired - I can count on one finger how many times I've purchased brand new out of the box RAM and had it fail out of the warranty period without the RAM having been touched since installation. My wife bought a Samsung film camera back when that was a thing. She used it for 8 months and lost it for a year when we moved. After we found the camera again, she resumed using it. Care to guess how long it lasted? 4 months (or just after the warranty would have expired had it not been lost).

The only piece of Samsung equipment I have ever purchased that hasn't died right out of warranty has been a 17" CRT.

On a tangential note, Maxtor beat out Samsung for most crappy HDDs from my experience. Maxtor drives were universally garbage to my experience, and when Seagate bought them I had hoped that Seagate would improve Maxtor's quality. Unfortunately, it looks like Maxtor ruined Seagate's quality instead (taking out a drive manufacturer I had actually liked). Now all my drives come from Western Digital or Hitachi/HGST (which is really also Western Digital). While I do once in a great while get a bum drive from WD, at least they don't give me a bunch of shit about it. :(

Can't think of any issues that I've had with my Samsung Note 2, 3, 4, 8, or 9 aside from slow/delayed Android updates. The only other Samsung products that I've owned have been their SSDs and RAM sticks with Samsung chips - which have been fine. So I haven't needed their customer/tech support.

That said, I'd prefer a vanilla Android phone like a Pixel 3 XL. But no SD slot, no headphone jack, and notch = no sale (for now). Still, at least it would get quick software updates and wouldn't have those idiotic "curved" screen edges.
