Windows Store Downloads are Still Getting Stuck

If you're a person that uses Windows 10 daily and things tend to work, you're a shill. On the other side, some are too quick to call people who have legitimate concerns and problems with Windows 10 as Microsoft/Windows haters. We seem to live in a world where everything has to be mutually exclusive. Windows 10 just has to be a complete cluster and no one using it is constantly dealing with catastrophic problems. Likewise anyone who does have problems is a hater. The truth is always in the middle.
Quoted for truth.

Why does something always have to be the best ever or worst ever? It is difficult to comprehend adults continually acting that way with everything. Ford v Chevy, 3dfx v nVidia (back in the day). Gaming Console warriors. Apple v Samsung v Google.

Extremism really is a human condition that's incurable it seems. We have to rate everything and if it's not the best it's the worst ever.

Then, like you said, we lump everyone into these categories if they are not like minded. 'shill' or 'fanboy'

I would say quoted for opinion, since that all it really is.

Right-O. You're right. My bad. Also will add I was speaking in generalities myself.

I started two downloads from the Windows Store yesterday. Age of Empires and Halo 5 Forge. I have 720MB downloaded for AoE, and 2.4GB for Halo. I have a 100Mb connection. The Windows Store is definitely a piece of shit.

You're not making any sense. I did not have to have 600 gigabytes free as again the game didn't install that much it just kept redoing the download over and over.
Actually you're not making any sense. You specifically stated that it used 600gb after attempting to install "over and over". How did it possibly do that if you didn't have the storage space? I wasn't even attempt to disparage or attack you, it was a joke. And a simple "not storage, but download limit" would have ended it without attacking. Are you guys that ingrained with your hate?

How does me saying people are quick to 'hammer' Microsoft equate to or devolve into: "idiotic statements claiming people must hate Microsoft"
Just stop feeding. He'll ultimately try to spin what I posted above this even though I have direct quotes posted in what is driving him insane. There is a group that gets fired up anytime an article is posted like this if it's against who they are loyal too.

How many times does it have to be explained to you before you comprehend it? It NEVER installed 600 GB or even tried to install that much, AGAIN it just kept downloading over and over. It would get to a certain point and then the download would just start over from scratch. It had used up 600 GB bandwidth NOT drive space.

No that is what you "think" I said. I never said it attempted to install 600 GB, I said it kept redownloading the game which resulted in 600 GB of bandwidth used for nothing.

yeah i've never had an issue with the store. from what i can tell though it uses the same bandwidth priority rules as windows update, so if it detects you using your connection for anything that is higher priority it'll automatically limit how much bandwidth it is using.

Interesting point. There are some registry keys that can change the priority rules for BITS. When setting up new WSUS servers I will sometimes have to change it to get the server populated with updates in a reasonable time. One way to do it: https://serverfault.com/questions/8...wsus-updates-in-foreground-in-win-server-2012

I wonder if that would fix the issues people are having with the Windows store too.

Indeed. Besides my gaming machine I have about 20 machines I admin for a non profit that are running Windows 10 and it's been fairly error free. Indeed many of the machines are pretty old at this point and Windows 10 is noticeably faster on them than Vista (god help us!) or Windows 8 was. The fact that I'm running WSUS on Server 2008 R2 and it doesn't know how to handle the feature updates has helped in the stability too - I have to manually run the Windows upgrade assistant to get the feature updates; something I only do many months after they are released and fully baked. I'll be upgrading that server and it will get the new WSUS - I'll have to make sure I don't release the feature updates right away since that seems to be one of the best ways to keep Windows 10 stable.
