Shipping Notifications

I dunno...every review so far comparing an AIB card to the FE seems to show the AIBs reaching higher clocks before throttling back down.

Just got notification that my Gaming X Trio from Best Buy shipped today. Order placed on 9/11.

They are more or less power limited, not so much thermal limited from the reviews I have seen.

Nothing wrong with Air if you ever seen those wet cards get damaged nothing will fix it.

Lol, it was just a joke because of the aggressive stance MadHatter took against the FE cooler. Forgot I wasn't on GenMay for a second. :p

Just got a shipping notification for the 2080 Ti from NVIDIA - FedEx link says delivery on Friday (only at "Label Created" stage).

From Lino Lakes, MN to Minneapolis, MN - maybe I will get it early. :)

I just got mine too, and today is my day off ... son of a ...

Oh well at least it's coming! Finally!

Got my email, says delivery Thursday 10/4, seems like one day shipping from MN to CA. I selected the slowest shipping option with the purchase.

Got mine today!! :notworthy::cat::happy:

I ended up keeping my order, shipped yesterday, and now I'm pissed off for different reasons.

Just moved this week. Naturally, Digital River was unwilling to change the shipping address for me, but told me I could place a hold w/ Fedex. Thing finally ships, Fedex won't allow a hold on it, per Digital River. Only after two failed delivery attempts is that an acceptable solution.

Chasing Fedex trucks tomorrow, I guess. Also, never buying from DR again if I can help it.

Just installed my Ti from NV. I really like the looks of the card and it has very reasonable fan noise. Will run some benchmarks shortly.

The one i'm considering despite my annoyance about the price.

Please nobody get the asus "turbo" blower card, the cooler on it is a joke yet they priced it higher than the FE card.

ASUS Turbo cards have always been bad IMO judging from reviews, Asus "Dual" ones are also poor with low quality components and probably the worst dual-fan design cards that I'd also stay away from no matter price, I'd rather pick some low cost Zotac or even Galax/KFA2 over those even.

Looks like my 2080 Ti FE pre-order shipped this morning and will be in on Monday. I just sat on my ass for three months healing up from a surgery and yesterday was my first day back to work. Next week I have a six day work week. Figures, lol.

I'm pretty excited to check out the performance but I'm still jaded by this release and all the bullshit that came before it. Here's hoping this satisfies my needs for quite some time because I'm freaking done with Nvidia for the foreseeable future.

Just got my shipping notification from nVidia! Not showing up in FedEx's system at the moment but I guess next week it is.

Yeah you’d have to be insane to buy a turbo unless you are maybe waterblocking it anyways. I think EVGA is best for that though since AFAIK it doesn’t void warranty.

First bench:

Far Cry 5

3440X1440 100Hz UW

All maxed out and TAA

107FPS average

123 High
98 Low

[email protected] all core
32GB 3200 CL15
1TB 960 EVO

I think that covers the important stuff.

Second Bench

Ghost Recon Wildlands

Ultra Preset

Avg 63 FPS
Min 57 FPS
Max 70 FPS

Same specs as quoted

Yeah they're pretty shit, far as i'm aware its just a bare bones aluminium heatsink, no vapor chamber or heat pipes and a shitty plastic shroud. It's pretty much their version of the stock polaris cooler which was an aluminium block and plastic shroud. Yet asus are as usual slapping a premium onto these cards. £1400 in the UK for one which is around $1840, for reference you can preorder an msi duke, ventus, or trio for several hundred £\$ less.

I just got my ASUS Dual OC delivered this morning and various comments here and elsewhere have me rethinking this purchase. Granted, I ordered it because it was the first one I was able to pull the trigger on due to stock.

As said above pretty basic heatsink on it. This shows their old one which had a heatpipe compared to their new one.

Considering nvidia went to a large vapor chamber and other companies are throwing loads of heatpipes and virtually 3 slots worth of heatsink at the 2080 ti i don't see the asus dual one doing too well, in terms of acoustics, temps, or both.

Pretty sure it’s 2.7 slots? I imagine it’s no FTW but should be adequate.

Might be ok, but the lack of heatpipes and just a big aluminium slab heatsink makes me wonder how well it could perform. The single fan turbo card gets pretty loud and hot. For the money (and i'd be amazed if it wasn't price gouged) i'd expect more personally.

The only thing preventing me from cracking open the box and testing it out for myself is Newegg's crappy GPU return policy.

I was getting what I think were overheating issues on my 2080 Ti FE. The fans wouldn't spin up very much by default, so I had to set an aggressive fan profile, but it seems to be working now.
