Pros:
Very simple install, very simple software setup. Apart from initial hiccup (having to reinstall SteamVR), it just...worked.
Easy to swap out cables.
Very comfortable to wear, once all installed.

Cons:
Because of how large the headset mod is, if you wear over-the-ear headphones and not earbuds, the wireless base station (which sits just behind the crown of your head) is juuuust far enough forward to interfere with the adjustable arms/bridge of your headphones. Pushing that forward, you can nestle it under the antenna, but if you've got a big noggin to begin with, the bridge may not be extensible enough to comfortably cover your ears anymore. (my senhaisers are still fine, but my nakamichis won't fit now)

Overall impression after an hour or so of use:
Sweet jesus. This is how it was always supposed to be. Just damn near total immersion. No breaking of the effect after three turns has your legs all bound up in wires. So....so good. So far, the only use complaint I've had is my son griping that there was almost no charge left on the battery when he got to mess with it. VR is going to get a LOT more play now and I'm glad for it.

Mine arrived today too, I had just enough time to experience the same "this is how it was always supposed to be" reaction before the battery was out of juice, so now I'm waiting for it to recharge. No, I didn't heed the "charge the battery fully before use" warning.
For a solution which includes a pcie card it was remarkably painless. Once I actually paid attention to the on-screen hints and realised you have to press the button on the receiver to pair it, that is.
Good riddance to that stupid cable.

Sounds awesome but boy is it pricey after already having dumped so much money into the platform. Not to mention I haven't used my Vive or Rift in forever.

It's brilliant apart from the Battery life but it's too expensive. If you setup a cable suspension system for $20 correctly, you can get the same freedom of movement without worrying about the cables or needing to change the batteries.

Agreed; I use a few KEY-BAKs plus a 3' cable extension and have nearly zero issues in my 10' x 10' space. I also have concerns about the potential long-term effects of microwaving my brain for several hours a day...

the wife just signed for mine. Going to test it on my vive pro once i get home.. can't wait

Anyone tried using an M.2 to PCI-E flex riser yet? Waiting for for someone to get that working before I get on board.
