Wow RTX 2070 FE being released 599.99

Isn't the founders edition about $50-100 more than the standard one from other manufacturers? I hope so.

I cannot believe they are selling these for 599.99 when on Aug 20th they said 499.99

Really thinking about ditching Nvidia but got these dam Gsync monitors, a monopoly at its finest

With the Ray Tracing performance we have seen from the 2080ti, what's the point of this card even having it? If the 2080ti has to run it at 1080, it will run like dogshit on the 2070.

Have there been any game benchmarks with ray tracing yet? I thought we were still waiting on those.

Well, it would maintain the pricing structure they set for the 2080 - similar performance for $100 more. If AMD had an equivalent card to the 1080 Ti, I'd buy it without hesitation.

But yeah, Nvidia's got you by the monitors. And it's not like you're going to replace those anytime soon.

Anything lower than a 2080ti will be worthless with Ray Tracing. You'd have to drop to 720p hahahahaha. Nvidia you are such garbage. Guarantee nvidia lowers prices in a few months with the lowest sales in years. I wish I I could go up to Huang and give him the middle finger.

Yeah true, and 849.00 for a 2080 is a rippoff
i wish i kept my 1080TI in SLI , i did get about 1200 so maybe i should just get a 2080TI and still be gimped at 4k when my 1080TI SLI could have done the job . Or do i go 2080 SLI
right now using a single 1080
lol

They'll just release a real next gen card on a new node when competition supposedly arrives in 2019.

Well since the 2080 and 1080ti trade blows I would say anyone in the market the the 2070 or 2080 should jump on a used 1080ti for $500-$600.

there will be games that use RT, DLSS etc before the next gen cards come out...so if you buy a 1080Ti is that really the best investment today?...with a 2080 you get better power consumption plus all the extra RT features...

Couldn't you just use that $1200 to go back to 1080 Ti SLI?

welcome to nvidia where the prices are made up and the MSRP is fake.

Any possible savings from the better power consumption are negated by the extra $200-300 up-front cost. I'm sure there will be games that use RT and DLSS before the next gen. Is that worth $200-300 extra?

Good time to Short Nvidia Stock

and no way i am buying a 1080TI SLI again , id rather dish out 450 bucks to go 2080 SLI with NVME or get a single 2080 TI and suffer at 4k still

so the 2070 is going to be available sooner then people were expecting?...I thought rumors were late October/early November?

I initially thought it was because 2070 would be cut-down dies but that's not the case. Completely baffling unless game devs are that gullible about useless install bases. Now my going theory is checkbox feature.

My thought being neither are a good investment. I get the feeling only the 2080ti is the worthy investment if RTX features are what matters to you. I'm thinking the 2070 and 2080 don't make too much sense when the 2080ti is on the edge of acceptable performance (1080p 60 fps) regarding RTX features.

That said, we don't know everything yet. I could be wrong, I hope so for our sakes.

In 2 years, the 2080ti will seem like a bad purchase when we are seeing 1440p 75fps RTX features... 4k after that, etc...

That said, we have to start somewhere. RTX users are early adopters much like VR users. Though I feel RTX has a much better chance of gaining momentum. We shall see.

why would Nvidia even enable ray-tracing on the 2080/2070 if it's going to incur a huge performance penalty?...they should just disable it for everything but the Ti...unless they have some magic drivers that deliver something amazing

Your guess is as good as mine. I suppose the more cards they seed with RTX features, the more likely developers will be to take the plunge and develop for them

I am not too sure that RT performance will degrade that much from a 2080 Ti to a 2070 since the RT # of cores do not change that much and that is the limiting factor in RT performance. It is not the rastilization slowing things down as far as I can tell. In other words I am believing a 2080 will perform virtually the same as the 2080 Ti for RT loads - need some benchmarks on the Start Wars RT demo, maybe that will clarify the performance differences.

Edit: Nevermind - 2080 has signficantly fewer RT cores, demo shows the huge difference in performance between the 2080 and 2080 Ti

NVIDIA's own fake performance metric "gigarays" showed the 2070 is supposedly 20% slower at ray tracing than the 2080 and 40% slower than the 2080 Ti.

Once DLSS gets going a 2080ti will be way better than dealing with 1080ti SLI. And who knows how RT would do in a few months when developers have had time to optimize it. DICE was very optimistic.

Even without DLSS I'll take a 2080ti at 45% higher FPS than a single 1080ti in Battlefield over SLI. SLI can go eat a ....

Aka useless unless you run 720p or like 1080p at 20fps
I won't accept that assumption until we actually have the API with the games to test out. Hybrid rendering with real time global illumination by itself will be easier on the card than the full gamut of ray tracing, for sure.

It's a simple fact that with raytracing features on the goal be trying to get 60 FPS just at 1080p with a 2080 TI for most triple A games. Expecting anything better than that is nothing more than living in a fantasy land.

Isn't the rumor that the RTX 2070 & 2060 won't have Ray Tracing capabilities?

But the 2070 should make the original 1993 DOOM game look phenomenal at 800x600 once they fully port/inject the new RTX ray tracing tech into the game.

Does this mean the 2060 will have a smaller die (comparatively) and a much lower price? It makes sense.
Or will Nvidia keep the "raytracing tax" with no raytracing.

There’s actually competition down there so I would like to think prices will be more aggressive.
