Apple is streaming a "Special Event" starting at noon CDT. Rumor has it that Apple will unveil new iPhone models and various other iDevices at the event, which isn't exactly a stretch since Apple does this every year. Interestingly, Apple is also streaming the event on Twitter, which they haven't done in previous years. You can check out the stream on Apple's website.

I'm not personally an Apple guy, but I can always appreciate what they bring to to the table and think they are some of the most aesthetically pleasing devices on the market.

But the Apple Watch is ugly... I wish they'd change the visual design of it.

The best
The greatest
The most amazing
The most incredible

their events have always been meh.

however the big news is for investors. That $750 phone might bring a ton of profit.

Apple is holding off the competition by attracting those who would pay a little more for apple power

I agree. The generational changes these days are so minute that it really leaves me uninspired to upgrade. Granted my phone has a few primary uses. Email, text, phone, light web browsing and solitaire. Honestly a current low end phone could suit me just fine, which are still more powerful than even the flagship phones from 4 years ago, which did all those functions just fine then.
I bought my Pixel 2 Xl for the camera alone. Every picture you see on HardOCP is taken with it. As cameras go, I simply do not need a better one, so I don't see any upgrade for me in the foreseeable future.

I honestly thought we had hit the point where smart phones were moving more towards being a commodity. Maybe in a few years.

Phone iterations won't get exciting again until maybe AR gets more mainstream or there is some breakthrough in battery tech. It's not like a few years ago when they just kept adding sensors which added functionality to the platform. Now it's all software and marginally faster/efficient processors.

This was an “S” update year. So I wasn’t expecting much. It’s just a money grab for the 512GB versions. Fuck that.

Will see what they come up with next year.

AR is lame to me. Didn’t even play Pokémon Go.

The iWatch.. That thing has so much medical stuff built that literally there is no competition.

The Xr. The last years model with better everything with just a lower price.

Even my OnePlus 6 isn’t looking that cheaper than the upcoming Xr. The face id is worth the premium alone.

$1449 for the Xs Max 512GB, they're getting ambitious with pricing.

Now with new higher prices !!!

I wonder if we'll see another increase in smash and grab robberies at the Apple stores.

Apple phones are a image statement, no one wants to be laughed at because they have a low-end Apple phone.

Enjoying my Note 9 here (Verizon BOGO plus $200 Sams Club gift cards per phone). I still have an iPad (for general family use) and an Apple TV 4k (bc it was free with DirectTV) but I'm so DONE with Apple phones.

Yeah plus they make you pay for fast charging and now the LIGHTNIGHT to HEADPHONE adaptor is not included..

people always put them in ugly cases, so you can't tell the difference.

The series 4 Apple watch is amazing - my mom was recently diagnosed with AFIB and has also had a couple of falls related to new high blood pressure medication. The series 4 Apple Watch has coverage for both of those things. The ECG is also huge - we were getting ready to get a stand alone device that was over $140 but it's also built into the newest Apple Watch.

If you have anyone in your family with any uncertainty around their heart health, the series 4 Apple Watch is a no brainer. There really isn't anything else remotely capable.

I feel like at this point, all the new phones out there doesn't really wow me anymore, a simple midprice phone $300-$500 runs well these days.

Prices were huge. 1450 for the XS Max Maxed. Glad I only need a XR. My IPhone 6 is on its last leg. It was a good run.

I don't know, that XS looks great... hoping that with the official event detailing what is different between the models we will see but that XR looks like a real winner.

I have owned iPhone's since the 3G and I think im finally priced out of their market. This isnt an upgrade year for me on my phone so I will hold onto my iPhone 7 but next year I likely will be upgrading. As of right now the Pixel's look very nice price/feature wise.

I wish phones would stop getting bigger, I dont want a tablet as a phone.

I guess I’m going strictly android this time.

$1049 for the base Xs Max is ridiculous.

Just saw the new phones today and...LOL! The XR is hilarious. $750?! Looks like the cheap ass 5c from a few years ago. Basic as fuck design, bezels that are seriously laughably large.

The other two are basically Xs and Xs Plus.

Pricing is fucking ridiculous.

Look, I've never been an Apple fan granted but I don't see how anyone still buys into this shit.

I definitely plan on replacing my Series 1 Watch with the new Series 4. It looks very slick.

The prices are all in line with the existing iphone X. Base is $1000 and 256G is $1150. The plus is now the max which has always been a slight price increase.

That said, I have an iphone X, and I told myself I would go back to the old design in the next iteration. But now, there is no old design. The notch and irregular aspect ratio really ruin things for me. Usable screen size is only slightly larger than a normal iphone 8, but the phone itself is significantly larger.

Disappointed with this new generation of iphones.. although I'm sure Samsung is super happy right now. Apple needs to lose the notch and go back to a 16:9 aspect ratio, or at least be honest and disclose what the actual viewable screen size is when watching any sort of video, but if they did that, they'd probably lose even more sales.
