According to a leaked slide from China Mobile, Apple’s new iPhones will be named the “XS” and “XC”: the former is reserved for the higher-end, OLED-fitted models, while the latter will be the cheaper LCD type. The company has used “C” to designate their less-expensive options before (e.g., 2013’s iPhone 5c), so this report could be accurate. (The larger OLED model will carry the “Plus” moniker.)

Pricing in China is listed, with the OLED 5.8-inch "iPhone XS" retailing for 7388 Yuan ($1079), and the "iPhone XS Plus" selling for 8388 Yuan ($1225). The LCD "iPhone XC" is said to retail for 5888 yuan, equivalent to $860. However, all of the prices include China-mandated sales tax, pegging pricing at about $1000 for the "iPhone XS Plus." While not much has been said about it lately, the LCD model has been rumored to be available in different colors.

Meh if apple prices xs plus at 1200 for starting model vs note 9 at 1000. That is a no no, it just makes them look like they are just over charging. I would be highly surprised if the Plus model doesn't start at 1000 and then go up from there. Starting at 1200 means it could go up to 1500+ for highest end model. Which is sort of ridiculous lol.

I have no idea what it'll be, but the one with 256GB of storage will likely be 150 more, just like the current iPhone X. It's still a ripoff, but if you're willing to wait til early next year, you'll be able to get them for much less in new or like new condition.

I guess there are enough idiots in the world to warrant a phone price being that excessive.

Iphone X spread the cheeks of some people's wallets and now many are primed are ready for the new norm.

Doesn't look that spread to me. But it sure stinks!

What else could be purchased for $1000+?

Seems a bit excessive.

It sure is, my new unlocked Galaxy S9+ was $820 and I felt it was too much. It sure was the most I ever paid for a phone. This pricing is also for China so that's pretty insane considering what people make there.

I wouldn't mind. I bought my 6+ when it launched. It would keep on surviving if I hadn't kept dropping it... which it survived for almost 4 years.

During that time I'm really glad to have it and will pay it again for something I use much more than I use my gaming computer. If you want to put your money into a phone or a computer or whatever, that's your choice. That's where you see the value in it. And there's nothing wrong with that. I see value in a new XS Plus.

But its only 40/mo extra on your cell phone bill! SOOO affordable! Flagship phones have been out of control for years now.

I went halfsies on the Wife's iphone 7 after she HAD to have one and that was too damn much. However, I don't really talk about my PC hardware habit and its costs with her so... Happy Wife happy life right!?

Yawn. Phones are boring and overpriced.
New features: fastest iPhone yet (really, look at the benchmarks they will show us), new colors, TouchID removed (courage), slightly better GPU (queue video of one of the execs watching a video game no one cares about), slightly improved Siri (only 6 years behind everyone else now), and more emojis! Oh, one more thing, new colors too.
I also expect some new Apple chip to be featured. I'm more interested in that than the phone announcement tbh.

Yeah, How about a durable phone with a decent PPI screen that has excellent voice quality and can run for days on a single charge... Pushing for blazing fast everything and all the benchmark wins is neat but we still have to charge daily or even more often than that depending on use.
