Downsize radiators for new Evolv X?

So I have a Alphacool Nexxxos XT45 420mm and EK coolstream XE 360 both on push pull at around 1300rpm.

This so cooling my 7820x (4.7ghz) and 1080ti SLI over clocked.

This is in my Thermaltake View 71 but I really want to get the Evolv X which would force me to use my 420mm push pull and a 280 slim in push only. For the slim I'd consider a nemesis GTS 280 which by my research would lose 70-100w compared to my 360.

How much would this impact my temps in my current setup?

Is a 420 and 280 slim adequate for my setup in the new Phanteks Evolv X case?

The rule of thumb is 28,800^2mm (a single 240 rad) of radiator area per overclocked component.

With two, you "need" 57,600^2mm.

With a 280 and 420, you'll have 98,000^2mm.

Another way of looking at it is this: you'll be swapping a 360 (43,200^2mm) for a 280 (39,200^2mm), meaning a drop of 10% surface area off one of your radiators.

As I said in that other thread: if that much of a change is enough to wreck your temps, you're cooling on the ragged edge already.

Everything is subject to personal preference, of course, but that would be "good cooling" for me! :D

Edit: disregard my previous math... I didn't catch the SLI in your post.

This places your "rule of thumb" radiator area requirement at 86,400^2mm.

You'll still be over that value, but not by quite as much.
