I remember from years ago that someone on this forum removed AG coatings, for a fee. Where can I find more info about that?

No one, anymore. Apparently manufacturers are using a different type of adhesion process or something. I vaguely recall the [H] member who used to do it tried it on a PG278Q and it ended in disaster with the polarizer chipping off.

I hear you, man. I despise AG coatings. Semi-gloss is just so much better to me. I wish there was more choice.

I think I've asked this before, but how does semi-gloss compare to full gloss, regarding text sharpness?

I think there are a lot of varations on what "semi gloss" means and a lot of time it still includes coatings with varying degrees of graininess. I was referring to a monitor with the coating removed or no coating at all. I've only had two of them but I found them to be nearly as clear as glossy with deep blacks but much less glare.
