WoW; 7th expansion Battle for Azeroth

Holy crap, The cut scene. The alliance ones has my heart breaking for jaina. I hit 115 as a NE mage last night and im taking my time doing everything in each zone. I took over 2 of the horde areas and loving the game so far.

Might take tomorrow off. Work is slow and my boss would love not paying lol (Used all my PTO)

Got to 114 last night with the warmode bonus. Taking my VE shadow priest through first. Multi-pulling with no problems, can still solo the elites without issue. Sephuz + a speedy azerite boost + Mania has me running around pretty fast.

The Drust forest (Crimson Forest) is creepy as hell. Bliz really nailed the atmosphere there. Very neat zone after all the fel green. Quests have been reasonable so far, nothing really annoying like an escort.

The azerite gear is a huge boost but it's tied to spec. So switching to disc/holy later will be a problem, looks like I will need 3 sets of azerite gear. Ugh.

Already saw a pair of folks running around on the giant dinosaur mount that costs a million gold.

OMG!! I know, heart ripping. Like she hasn't been/seen enough already? Her and the Windrunner sisters are my favorites. Genn is the guy you definitely want next to you in battle. I was up till 6 am and force myself to sleep lol. This is fun.

The Horde lumber mill town: think I found an exploit or something not realized. I took the flamethrower in the Horde camp and just kept agroing mobs to death and basically got from 112-113 this way. Don't think it was mean't for that lol. Not the shreadder one, just the hand held. 600XP per kill.

Am I in the wrong zone or something? Glad you guys are enjoying it but it's boring me to death :( the starter area for the Alliance, the pirate themed one, I forget the full name of it.

I am level 112 and about halfway done with it if I had to guess. Maybe I'll just skip ahead to the zone to the west, Duskvar I think it's called.

I'm just getting back into WOW now. I had 2 days off and found out that the expac was dropping and figured eh why not. Next thing I know it's Tuesday 11pm! had to walk away from the computer since I was working today.

The tough part about getting back into it was not remembering what add-ons I had before. I had to figure out where to put all the powers / spells on the bar and also it seems like there are less abilities to use than I remember before.

What add-ons is everyone using?

Biggest part of the reason why it's hard for me to come back to WoW. Each time I have to remember all that CRAP and it's why prefer the MMO's that do not allow any sort of 3rd party add-on's so everyone is always on an even playing field as far as that is concerned.

So I'm leveling up three 110's at the same time, doing like an hour and each and switching between characters.

- 110 Paladin Tank I've been playing since BC. He just mows through everything and can take on a full zone of tens of creatures at once.

- 110 Veng Demon Hunter, another class that just destroys everything and I barely lose 10% health.

- 110 boosted Rogue, I'm new to the Rogue and trying out assassin and subtly and It's just tough, I got to be really careful and how many people I attack and I'm always going down to 25% Health after taking on a few guys. Not sure I'm a fan of this class and there's some cool down issues on the rotation with both specs.

so far much prefer my Paladin tank and Demon Hunter tank by far

Quest to infiltrate the Stockades and retrieve a valuable asset?!

/crossesfingers, please be Saurfang's head. please be Saurfang's head. please be Saurfang's head... Damnit!

From playing a Fury warrior and trying out rogue just to see if I wanted to waste a 100 or 110 free bump on it, I can see that single target DPS may be higher (much higher maybe), but alot of the other melee classes either have better AoE DPS potential or better survivability or some combination of both. You definitely have to change your play style going from Paladin to Rogue from what I've seen.

I guess I'm used to playing like the bull in the china shop style with Tanking.

Just used to that type of play, where the Rogue feels fragile, and weak. Even my Frost DK feels tougher and more durable than the Rogue.

Keep in mind those are plate DPS vs leather DPS bro :-D

From my limited rogue experience, it's a matter of bushwacking (steath kills) one target at a time vs rushing in and letting your armor / stats soak up the hits as you mow them down. I have DK Frost alt as well and jumping from one plate DPS to another isn't so bad - but when I try to do rogue or hunter, there's definitely a learning curve / adjustment period to switch mindset.

My Havoc Demon Hunter is leather DPS and he mows down people pretty quickly to almost as well as a tank not that well but way better than a Rogue it seems.

My feral druid does ok with 2~3 mobs, but it's nothing like my ret. pally. That was basically hax while leveling.

Frost mage here. I pull about 20 things or more if possible lolol

Go Outlaw. I just tried the other two and my Rogue felt like you said weak. I am ripping mobs with Blade fury and the multiple attack one. Set your talent to Iron Stomach to heal more from Crimson Vial. Also in Talents looks for additions to healing. In your Artifact there is one for 1800 healing every 6 seconds.

Anybody tell me when Outlaw got rid of Barrage? I miss the cannon fire!

Oh and I cleared Fallhaven last night, that was a really fun city. Even with the annoying birds,, that was cool. A little like a creepier Duskwood.

How are Hunters in the expansion? I might come back and try one.

hit 120, 291 ilvl and unlocked WQ... not bad

I would play this game only if they made a sequel so worried about being caught up in 2004 if I started.

The GCD and slower spell casting is a real bummer so far in BfA. Blizzard purposely slowed down spell casting, and they even wanted to have a longer cool down on all characters.

My Paladin Tank level 111, my Veng Demon Hunter Level 113, my Level 112 Frost DK, all feel slower, like almost laggy or sort of stuck in mud with spell casting. Like my Prot Paladin, casting quick spells, I see I have to wait maybe half a second to hit the next one, which has NEVER happened before. All characters spell casts just seem to take a little bit longer than before.

This is a major buzzkill and game killer to me. Why would Blizzard think slowing down your character would be more fun ?

None of my characters feel the same anymore, they feel generic, slow, and lame now. And I get that it's a new expansion, and this always happens, you have to sort of start fresh again, and level and gear up again. I get that. But my Guild mates that are Level 120, and already in Heroic and Mythic dungeon gear say it still feels slow, nothing tinged with new Azerite gear and better +Haste gear, they say the all the characters have this slowed down feel to them.

I didn't even think of this before. 3 armor slots that used to provide large amounts of secondary stats now give us none, and I'm guessing that the other pieces' budgets haven't been adjusted to compensate.

Broke down and ordered the expansion and renewed my sub. Think I'll keep my DH as my main.

So many choices for my free 110 tho...
Currently have a 110 Priest, Mage, DH.

Think I may go Hunter (never played) or a Druid for heals....

It's a rather lazy expansion.
We got recycled races who are locked behind old content reputation.
The new actually cool races are not even available yet and most likely locked behind quests/reputation.
There is no new class.
The story is very confusing.
And it's a filler expansion.
So we basically only get new zones.
Good thing I got BfA for free.

I have to admit I'm a bit underwhelmed so far I'm leveling up three characters at the same time they're only all level 112 at the moment and I just don't have the drive to rush to 120 just feels tedious.

For some reason Legion launch didn't feel like this I was excited and pumped up to get going and kept on going to 110 quick.

Maybe it's the Jamaican cheesy accents on the trolls just never been a fan of the whole troll theme. I've always despise WoW's take on trolls, the weird mix of Aztec and Mayan architecture but with like Western Caribbean type NPC's doesn't seem like a good mix.

Ugh F this Rogue class LOL

Trying all 3 specs tonight, at level 111 in the new zones, and a 3 man group of monsters just own me, I am 31,000 health, they can get me down to 10,000 health. I just took on 2 guys, one monster was 56,000 health and the other 15,000 health, and they fucked me up bad = dead.

On this Rogue I have died almost every hour questing around. Whereas my Paladin, and Demon Hunter, doing the exact same quests LOL, not even frigging close to dying on them, like not a chance, they feel immortal or almost like cheat mode easy characters. Honest opinion, my Paladin and Demon Hunter feel sort of like OP level 130 characters, and my Rogue feels like a level 80 guy. As if something's not right on this Rogue, like he's glitched or broken LOL But of course it's just me. But why can I play my Paladin and Demon Hunter so well and easily though?

I just don't understand why I can't get this Rogue class ? I really gave it another solid hour or so just testing specs and talents and spells, and going after 1 monster at a time, then mobs, etc...it doesn't click for me, this character feels so fragile and like made of paper.

You remind me of a mate of mine who's main was warrior and his alt was a mage, he kept complaining how easily he died as a mage, while others with a mage main had no issue, just a matter of adjusting play style.

Try re-jiggering your talents - a tweak here and there, especially with things that affect crits or self-heals might help out. I know it did for my Fury warrior.

From what I can tell there are no new talents or spells either. The rotations and specs you used in Legion are the same as what you use here, just slower and more cumbersome. (Edit: I guess the talents did change in the pre-launch patch, but I still would have expected a new tier at 120. Having the same abilities/same playstyle at 100 and at 120 doesn't seem right.)

I'm only 115 myself but I don't have much interest in going further. The zones are very boring and are just generic quest after generic quest, there are no 'special' quests that add to the story or let you do anything fun or new and no class-specific quests like Legion had.

Mists, Warlords, Legion I at least got through all the story content before getting bored, not so here. This is barely worth the $40 IMO and absolutely isn't worth $15/mo except for the people that plan to raid multiple times a week.

I am getting sort of sued to Assa Rogue spec, but going through the zone and questing is just boring to be honest. I am Level 113 on the Rogue, 112 on the Veng DH, and 111 on the Paladin. And just not feeling this expansion. The GCD and Haste issues on all my characters make the gameplay feel slowed down, and my characters feel like stuck in mud when going through their rotation. This more slower feel of your character is a bummer and a buzzkill. I understand at end of Legion we were mini gods, with full Artifact weapons and all the traits, and now in BfA we're just common soldiers now, and at the start of all new expansions we won't play like the Epic geared end of expansion. But...this feels different, like way worse than other launches as far as your character feeling broken almost.

I always like to create a new boosted character at expansion launch to try something fresh and new while leveling, and also bring my main along of course too. But the Rogue I boosted to play feels funky and super difficult to get a smooth fast flowing rotation going, and again I blame that on the changes Blizzard made to Haste and GCD.

Not sure how long I'll stick around in BfA ? I played Legion the entire 2 yrs, never left at all. But not feeling the same in this new expansion. Plus with Battlefield 5 coming soon, and other games this Fall Winter, I might actually jump ship.

Took me a while but I finally hit 120 on my fury warrior, it was pretty cumbersome, not realy feeling the troll stuff, never been a fan of those, I have 15 more toons at lvl 110, not sure I'm going to lvl all those.

I also feel weaker at 120 then I did at 110, since mobs scale with you you loose the sense of power and they seem to have gotten a boost at 120 probably to compensate for the gear you have yet to aquire but this made me die more often questing at 120 then the whole journey till 120.

The revamped proffesions look even more tedious then they used too, needing tons of materials, and no multiple skillpoints for certain crafts. So far I'm not impressed at all.

It seems a lot of people are feeling the same way about BfA sort of like people did at WOD launch because I remember just two years ago I was surprised at how engaging and inviting Legion felt, even the first week launch, Legion had a really fun fresh feel to it and sucking me in to keep going.

But I don't feel that whatsoever with BfA, game feels tedious, and mainly my characters feel weak as fuck. I feel as if I'm like Level 90 or something, like way wimpier now.

Did Blizzard not realize, the gameplay feel change on characters get when creating BfA ? And the the Haste and cool down stuff they changed, my rotations on all characters feel sluggish and slower, and don't have that smooth flowing feel to them. And I hear people that are Level 120 in i325+ gear saying it's still the same, the slowed down feel of your rotation is still there.

Is this something we need to wait for patch 8.1 to change ? Because right now I'm not happy with my three characters I'm leveling through BfA. They all feel off, like the fun factor was wiped away.

specifically my Rogue class I'm leveling, he feels like some wimpy emo pussy Kylo Ren that wishes he was Darth Vader. At least my Paladin and Demon Hunter still are strong mofo's and can take a beating no problem, and dish it out better. But the Rogue is a wimp getting destroyed easily by a 4 or 5 man mob. But the cool down issues and haste making the spell casting and rotations feel like I'm in quicksand, and always waiting twittleling my thumbs until I cast my next spell.

I like rotations that are fast flowing no waiting, but with my rogue I'll cast a spell and have to wait a second, could still be about half a second maybe one second until the next spell is ready it's okay, but feels off. I just want to click click click click click non-stop non-stop click next spell, and next spell, etc... but I can't attack, have to wait, then click click wait wait click. To me that's boring and makes me want to unsub.

Zorachus doesn't like rogues. Is that correct? lol If you're not having fun, quit playing that class.

I came back for the expansion. Dinged 120 couple night ago. You[re right. They have nerfed and fluffy bunny them. I use Outlaw with blade fury and killing spree to get through mobs. Took Barrage away from them and any mob above 3 you fight like its your last breath, sometimes it is. I played the first 6 years pretty much straight through(including Beta), off and on the last 8 years and this is the worst nerfing I have ever seen for any class. But I will power through, because I can't stand having to fight through every part of the game instead of stealth walking around areas. :p

Should I take that talent that allows 20% faster walk speed while in stealth mode ? But then I can't use that other talent that allows you to use stealth abilities for 3 more seconds after getting out of it.

I am going to learn this Rogue no matter what, not giving up.

My Paladin and Demon Hunter feel like easy mode, OP, and I know thesw classes very well, and they're not as fun right now because it's not new or fresh, I know they kick butt, and know the spells, so I want a new challenge something to learn and make the expansion feel totally brand new, and what better way than picking a class I've never played before.

I did. Give me a second, gonna have a look real quick.

Here is mine, works well for me.

In bigger mobs and dungeons, use blade furry then Killing spree. Big damage all round.

I would play this game only if they made a sequel so worried about being caught up in 2004 if I started.

I would be game for a sequel also. I know why they don't, but every time I try WoW it just feels like the game I quit playing years ago. It doesn't give me any desire to come back since I remember everything so vividly even though it has been since Burning Crusade that I truly played.

Maybe I just see the man behind the curtain too easily in MMOs so they don't grab me like they used to.

Gotta learn how to CC to be a good rogue. Sap, Blind, Vanish -> Sap/Stun, Dodge, Sprint away, etc. It becomes instinct after you play a while. You boosted so you're missing that part. Rogues have a deep bag of tricks and have to use them. You can't just run into 4 mobs and chop chop. If you can that means you way overgear the content. But you should be able to sap one, cheap shot #2, blind a third with a quick mouseover macro then go to work on target #4, dodge once #2 recovers and joins in, kill them and vanish -> CS the blinded one once it recovers, etc. Knowing how to juggle all that will also make you better at pvp.

I hit 120 on my priest pretty quickly, been healing some heroics and it's been an amusing time. Some of the dungeons are ok, maybe deal with getting lost in Waycrest Manor that first time but not too bad. Then you get to Motherlode which is a terrible place with an insane amount of trash and a nightmare to heal thanks to nonstop AE explosions. Some of them clearly need a few more passes to remove trash packs and tune things up.

Overall though really enjoying the expansion. It's a nice change of scenery after Legion's fel-green and demons all the time. Huge contrast between Zandalar and Kul Tiras so it really feels like 'going into enemy territory' every time I go to the other side's island. War mode had fun roving pvp packs and active localdefense channel, and it's nice to be able to opt-out of that when I'm not in the mood without having to switch servers.
