Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay video at 4K resolution is now available. I know a lot of you console fans really loved the previous title and can't wait to get this one. Check out the official gameplay video and those of us that PC game will just have to cross our fingers for a PC version.

Watch the video here.

Seriously, what in the fucking fuck is up with Rockstar and RDR when it comes to PC? We never got the first once, despite us getting all the other Rockstar games, and now it looks like we aren't getting the second. Like, WHY THE FUCK NOT? What's the actual problem???

It's believed because when R* bought the studio doing RDR their code was so buggie it would have been a nightmare to deal with. The console versions had all kinds of issues pre-patches.

Remember R* didn't start the game, they only came into finish it.

Just sold my PS4 never looking back at another console waited for 5 years for Deep Down to come out.
Low 30 FPS plus subscriptions for online use just no reason to own one. PC master race

I think they may be trying to double-dip like GTA5.

Release for the consoles and get all the people that can't wait. Release a PC version a year later with some slightly improved features and graphics.

Can't believe its so close. RIP work, responsibility and hygiene when this comes out.

I believe this to be true. As has been said, word on the street is the first RDR was a coding nightmare. It was, at the time, an unknown franchise and I don't think Rockstar predicted how popular it would be. I probably didn't seem like a wise move to invest resources into trying to make the game playable on the PC when they weren't sure what they had. By the time the game released to overwhelming popularity, they were likely already looking to the future with GTA V and didn't view a PC version as worthy of pulling resources away from that. With RDR2, this does not apply. They have built the game from the ground up this time, and they know that there is an overwhelming demand. They know the game will be profitable on whatever platforms they bring it to. They also learned with GTA V that people will double, sometimes even triple dip on a game. The way GTA V released no doubt contributed to its claim of being the most profitable piece of digital entertainment anywhere. RDR2, like GTA V, is releasing on the tail end of a console generation. It wouldn't surprise me if they are planning to re-release it on the next generation of consoles, and a PC version alongside that. Truthfully, I'm fine with that. I will not double dip. RDR is a great game, but I can be patient, and if there is a better version on Rockstars roadmap, I'm just as well to wait for that.

Red Dead Redemption is the second game after Red Dead Revolver(2004) and both were developed by Rockstar San Diego. Rockstar San Diego was purchased in 2002, so it might have been a coding nightmare but has nothing to do with their acquisition of the studio.

Probably accurate that they didn’t predict how popular it would be though.

Yeah im patient as all hell. Ill wait for PC or will just not play it, lots of other good games to play!

Graphics look pretty good for a console. I thought this was coming to PC?

Fighting hand to hand combat looks decent enough. Hope they can mix it in with some close revolver drawing and shooting to the gut when getting into a scuffle. Would be awesome to mix hand to hand with gun play. Dude looks like he is going to draw, shove him away and draw and shoot into his stomach. That would be cool.

Outside of that, looks like a decent Assassin's Creed / Mad Max clone. I'd say it looks very generic outside of the setting. A decent wild west game is intriguing.

When R* bought them, they started making major changes. Pretty sure it was going to be a linear FPS like the first. They didn't start from scratch but they certainly had a lot of work cut for them. Most of their other games are on PC after all. Bully, Manhunt and Max Payne of course.

Don't forget the tacked on multiplayer so they can sell Buckaroo Cards(TM).

If it follows recent patterns it should be a good game and I expect it to be released for PC at some point but I'm also sure they'll milk it for all it's worth.

I am guessing PC will likely be announced spring 2019 with a release in summer 2019. They're going to try and get people to double dip as they did with GTA V.

I wanna play this, but the 30 fps cap on consoles is a joke.

30FPS will only apply to 4K, though - unfortunately neither console can do real 4K60. Uncompromising 4K60 (meaning no checkerboarding or other visual cheats) won't come until the PC release, since real 4K60 needs a 1080Ti or better.

The sweet spot for this game will be 1080p60. Fluidity matters more than resolution (to me) and makes more of a difference. 4K30 is migraine inducing.

1080p is too small, 4K is too big, and 1440p is just right.

1440 is mostly irrelevant for consoles since most people will be playing this game on HDTV's. 1080p60 with no frame dips > 1440 with occasional dips into the 40's and 50's.

Looks good, will look better at 60 frames in 6-12 months time on PC.

The first game is still one of my all time favorites. This looks great. I'll double dip if I have to. The PC version will be version 2.0.

Damnit, keep saying I might get a PS4pro for BF and this ain't help'n me not make that decision.

Come on. I love a good western. Never did forgive them for the lack of the PC version the first time.

Consoles need a much faster CPU for 60fps.

Still sounds like it was a messy time. Legal issues, layoffs, Agent got started then dumped. I'm sure RDR sat on shelf many years before they could even touch it.

Anyways I'll be really surprised if they miss the PC market. They'll do like GTAV and release it six months later. I'm fine with this. Let the console people beta test it. RDR was horribly buggy at release. GTAV was better but not by much. Let them work out the bugs and the PC gamers should have a smoother time playing.

This game will not be able to do 60fps.

They're marketing this game with "4K", which means 4K30 on PS4Pro/Xbox X, and thus a comfortable 1080p60 should possible on those consoles. Original PS4/Xbone will prob be capped at 1080/30 however.

The GPU is not the limiting factor in these consoles. Jaguar cannot do 60fps in many games.
