Or... the quality of the monitors has become so bad, that cherry-picking doesn't work any more.I got the impression manufacturers rather send the review samples to some incompetent youtubers than to the actual enthusiasts. They want marketing puppets, not honest reviews.

Depends who is doing the review. For the most part each itteration of monitors aren't that different but considering they need to constantly push content, the fact that casual gamers for the most part are fine with any average display and within the confines of this is whats on the market, and for types of people who don't frequent display forums. We are the minority. For the most part if it were someone like us all monitors are shit and each review could be summed up in that one line. "It's shit". What more to say. But that doesn't make content, and it doesn't make sense to bother making a reviews for those people. So most reviews are not for those people.I so Agree , These guys who review these monitors on tube even give props to shitty monitors , because what you tube reviewer is going to refuse a asus endorsement after shaming one of they're bad monitors plus no more free goodies

People on this website are incredibly anal about their displays. A single dead pixel in a 4K monitor is a huge issue or long rants about AR coatings "ruining" the display where most people would simply work with the display happily.
When reviewing a display there are several factors like price range. A lot of people just buy the cheapest display they can find and usually run it at stock settings. I bet a lot of the YouTube reviewers don't have the means or the knowledge to do good color calibration, input lag etc tests so they work with what they have. That results in pretty shallow reviews and makes them less trustworthy. I really approciate what TFT Central is doing as I feel their reviews are always spot on and I don't think I would buy a high end monitor without waiting for their review first.
I wish more people could do the same kind of quality reviews in English that Simon does. Maybe he could train someone, or someone could use his reviews as a model to do their own. We need to cover more monitors than 12 per year.
TBH, all LCDs are a different shade of shit. There is definitely a middle ground between "Well it has a ton of flaws but I really like it! (I got it for free) and..
no offense, but the [H] crew. Never heard a single positive experience about a monitor from a user on here in my life. I'd think we all hated computers if it wasn't... ya know, a computer forum about computers.
It is a shame, though. One would think that fair but occasionally critical reviews would drive manufacturers of good products to send their products for the rare but high praise. 10/10 on JonnyGURU is no joke.
Is that the new rumored LG panel?
And how the hell does a review takes a couple of weeks?!
These monitor guys are like audiophiles. I swear... most of these tests are not applicable to real life. just give me gamma measurements, min/max luminance, contrast, viewing angles, response times and ghosting test and I am done. Drop in a picture in a dark and lit room and that's it.
Pretty much what pcmonitors does but I do not trust em entirely for some reason
People do post their positive experiences here, but are realistically by also pointing at the flaws they experience. I don't go so far as Meeho to say that all LCDs are a different shade of shit, but you do have to make compromises and pick the best one for your use case and budget. That includes OLED.There is definitely a middle ground between "Well it has a ton of flaws but I really like it! (I got it for free) and..

Rtings does do computer monitors, just very few. They just put up a review of the Dell U2718Q today. We need Rtings of PC monitors, badly. Just hard data and measurements, few comments, no bullshit.
