[HOT] Fullsized RGB Mech. Keyboard with Outemu for $25.99 on Amazon!

I rtfm, and now I see the light. Thank you so much for the help!

Anyone know where I can find a PDF of the manual? It appears I've tossed mine along with the box.

you hot glue the cap

Coil whine on video cards was solved by hot gluing. Unfortunately this keyboard likely runs at 5V as it's USB and therefore uses PWM to modulate the output as you would roughly have only about 1.5V of voltage swing to control the intensity before they leds go dark. It is likely there is no cap. But I haven't cracked one open to find out.

If I had known that there was a 90% chance that I'd get a whiner I wouldn't have taken the chance.

Ignorance is bliss, and I got very lucky. This is my first introduction into mechanical keyboards. Although I've only had it now for two or three weeks I can tell that my typing accuracy has improved a lot. I don't touch type, but the keys just feel better than my old Logitech G510s membranes, and I had used that keyboard for like two years, and loved it. I gave it to my mother, since nobody here/craigslist wanted to buy it, and the first time I used it, after having been used to the mechanical, it felt like I was sticking my fingers into mayonnaise, very disconcerting. I absolutely love the clickity-clack of the Outemu Blues.

I do understand that, since this is my very first modern mechanical keyboard, there are surely much better products out there, maybe with switches that I would like better. For $28 this is a fantastic first step into the Mechanical Keyboard realm.

Now that I'm done singing its praise, what exactly is the Manufacturer and model number? My sticker is very ambiguous.

Thanks!

Last I checked Amazon only had a couple left. The page says they will not accept returns for noise defects any more.

I bought one for my nephew, and to be honest I can't hear a whine unless I put my ear right up against it. Guess I got lucky. But he was so happy with it, he gave me a hug and made his older brother jealous.

I attempted to disassemble it and post pics. Must he the screws are located on top under some random keys. I gave up and tossed it back in the box .

The bright blue status light were annoying me, (Num Lock, Caps, Etc.)

I covered them bastards up.

That AmazonBasics one is a crazy price for ANY gaming keyboard, especially a mechanical (or mechanical-ish)!

I wouldn't get too excited. The only thing mechanical about it is the word. But you get the rgb's and that's what people crave. ;)

Right, I'm just saying $14 for a keyboard with gaming keys and media controls (if you need those things) seems a great deal IMO. I've purchased cheap feeling, no-frills keyboards for workstation spares at work that were about this much (or more) and lacked the extra features.

For the price, it would be wise to keep one's expectations in check (I would say that generally applies to any of these sub-$30 keyboards, although some can pleasantly surprise you).

Whatever, I know I dodged a bullet. But I love this KB. It's my first ever Mech, other than the Model M.

Hello,
Couple questions.

Just got one of these today. Pretty good, does buzz a bit.

If I program it and then unplug it. Does it loose my custom program?

It has a setting FN - "dot key on numpad" it has some Chinese approx on some of the keys and that dot key is one of them. This is supposed to set color of the keyboard to a solid color I think, but I cannot see that it does anything. Does anyone know what that key combo does or is supposed to do?

Tonight while sleeping I am going to dream about a covert trip to Guangdong, I will be undercover. Through scrupulous research and mostly leveraging my Jedi like abilities to extract valuable information from Ladies of the Night, pimps, and female impersonators, , I will locate the Font designer of this keyboard. I will make him disappear just like I did to the designer of the New interface for the Directv Genie box. These two acts alone will do more to contribute to world peace than the last two Nobel prizes awarded to US presidents. Then I'll wake up... and on Monday my second of these two keyboards I ordered will arrive...

Hey, brother, experimentation with drugs is cool. But be careful. I've dropped acid three times. Twice, I had a mind-blindingly wonderful experience. Once, I had a really bad experience. Space Bars were chasing me all over the galaxy. Uncool. To this day I distrust space bars.

I've had mine unplugged for several minutest with no issues.

I bought one, fantastic deal. I'm not a huge fan of the font used, but I can get over it.

Mine does have a slight whine depending on the color displayed? But its subtle, and my watercooler system drowns it out if I'm not already using headphones.

I would buy another one for work if I wasn't so worried about the clickityclack annoying everyone.

It does retain it's memory

Does something strange though, if you edit and save a configuration. When you open edit again, it wipes the config out and you have to start from "Dark" keys. Is that howe you guys see it happening? Booth mine do this.

Is this KB locked to 8 or so colors? Maybe I'm being dense here. It happens.

its full rgb, prob just color cycles without control software.

Thanks for the reply. Since there is no software, is there any way through the keyboard to control colors better than the FN-INS/DEL method?

Here's the instructions for crystal clarity.

Can you, or somebody, show what you've done with the custom colors? It's obviously tedious, and I'm not sure that my gnat attention span can deal.

Thanks!

LED colors are hard to get with a cell phone... The querty and numpad are yellowish. Enter shift tab, etc = teal some violet keys, and the functions are blue as well as the Home-delete area, numbers and arrows red as well. The teals and blues here look kinda the same, but you get the idea.

Yeah, that looks nice. I'll do it. Thanks les_garten.
