And as of yet, as far as I'm concerned, you have yet to truly add to the discussion. I even gave you a small benefit of the doubt and tried asking why do you think that is. Do you add or respond to any of them? Nope, just pretend you were attacked and played victim.

And no I don't watch CNN/MSNBC etc, not that they are even in the same league as BB/IW as 'fake news' is concerned, but still not a source I choose to use.



Maybe we need the fairness doctrine back to pull people out of their echo chambers, thinking they are being fed 'news' and 'facts' by 'journalists' from a company owned by the .001%. That sinclair group spraying forced news segments in the face holes of 60% of the country, regardless of the content, should scare the absolute shit out of you. No one should have that kind of control over the 'news' shown to people, and the effects are only going to get worse as they consolidate more and more.

Did you read the articles I posted? Forbes is business oriented, and the National Academy of Sciences is highjly reputable. Neither can be tarred with the label pro-immigrant.

I notice that you didn;t start your post with any refutation of facts, but just pontification and insult. Insults are not an argument, but you keep employing them, Describing an article as pro immigration is a facile way of not even discussing the facts. If you are so objective and fact oriented as you claim, than actually refute the points made with facts, but you assiduously avoid doing so.

Breitbart is a highly political, tendentious website, and full of xenophobia and bias, which in this context is misdirection away from the structural reasons for stagnant wages.

I don't think you have added anything to this discussion, except to fulminate, and make high handed comments.

It's not a great system, though I wouldn't call it a terrible one either. Regardless, (1) most working individuals pay taxes toward medicare and social security. (2) Most people are not enrolled in medicare. (3) Even if you are enrolled, you may still have to pay a portion of medical costs. (4) It is still a large portion of the budget despite the preceding points.

Now, say you make everyone enroll in this universal healthcare system. Now the above becomes: (1) same, (2) (most?) everyone is enrolled, (3) you still pay some (or none?).

How does (4) become a non-issue now, with a larger portion of the population using and the same number of people paying into it? Taxes go up, or debt increases.

Of course, I haven't taken into account insurance companies. Where are they in this picture? Gone, or alternative/supplementary? Are doctors/nurses civil workers or contractors? Anything else I should consider that I'm forgetting?

Didn't say anything about more taxes than anyone else, just said higher taxes or debt than current. And military pays into their own healthcare system (in addition to ss/medicare), you can't lump it into the rest. Edit: I mean, yeah, reducing the military budget would help to bring us back toward the black, but that is a separate issue from the one we're discussing now.

I'm not claiming to be 'enlightened'..... Articles were posted as 'facts' about immigration from known alt-alt-alt-right sources (to say it nicely).... If people are using shit sites like that for information it's because it spews 'facts' that they want to hear/agree with, which is the fucking definition of echo chamber...... I would call out the same people posting links to known alt-left bullshit sites too because this crap is harming our democracy more than pretty much anything else going on right now.

Well yes, if we don't unfuck the system as part of the process, taxes or deficit would indeed go up. But that's part because of our fucked up system, and just having national healthcare would barely be a better bandaid fix than the ACA was. Good luck unfucking it though as that would hurt the bottom line for insurance/pharma industries, who are conveniently some of the biggest lobbiests in the industry. No politician is going to bite the hand that feeds.

Uh I think you're confusing left/right-leaning with alt-right/left. Alt-right sums up breitbart just fine, and is painfully obvious. I could have used much worse and still been 100% accurate. And no one has posted anything representing the 'extreme'-left (is that better?) that is even close to the level of BB..... When that happens, their 'facts' will be ignored just the same.

Similarly Left Wing media reports what supports their narrative. Provide concrete examples of reporting untruths and I will stop reading a media outlet. Tell me they are biased and all I think is "So?"

Also Hillary Clinton eats the children raped to death by Podesta at Spirit Cooking Sleepovers.......at Pizza Hut.

When the 'biased' CNN/MSNBC outlets (Are you still saying "so?" when it's biased to the left?...) makes a false claim, they end up doing a redaction, which ads fuel to the "OMG FAKE NOOS!!!!" people. When BB does the same shit, the article gets removed. Then all it's followers just parade around "show me those false articles, see it's the real news".....

I see you did not cite an actual error in Breitbart reporting. You just complained that their take is too conservative. As I said before, I only write off media outlets when they false report. Cite a False Report by Breitbart and I might think about dropping it as a source for information.

They rejected Mike Castle as the Republican candidate in Delaware, or they could have a Republican Senator from Delaware since 2010 (well, Jan 2011). Instead they went with Christine O'Donnell and she only got 40% of the vote.

Then they didn't learn their lesson and booted Dick Lugar from Indiana in 2012, probably policies like Reagan. The nominee was a weirdo named Richard Mourdock and he lost. Also they scuttled North Dakota, Missouri and later Alabama.
