Since I'm blind as bat, I had my wife look at it and she described it as like pieces of the "silver came off and like you can see the ridges of the silver being higher then the copper."I don't know what that is, but it is clear that something is going on. It is so tough to tell. If not playing, could it be aögae growth?
I'd probably disassemble it and investigate. If that is the plating I'd try to file a warranty claim.
I never went went with transparent tops on any of my blocks. I'm starting to wonder if that was a good idea.

That sure does sound like the nickel plating coming off...
Is it under warranty? These blocks don't seem like they could possibly be old enough yet to have this happen, at least not unless they have been abused with mixed metals or something like that.
Which is weird because I done nickel plated ek and other brands of cpu blocks with silver coil or silver bullet without the plating coming offyup. the silver bullet did it I bet. nickle + copper is ok but nickle + copper + silver, idk. the watercool rep here recommends distilled + with a corrosion inhibitor(glycol). no silver cause it ill cause a reaction.

did you use any anticorrosion additive before? silver is antibacterial but can cause galvanic corrosion or whatever its called without an inhibiter.Which is weird because I done nickel plated ek and other brands of cpu blocks with silver coil or silver bullet without the plating coming off
Nope, never needed it before. interesting gigabyte replied with the following.did you use any anticorrosion additive before? silver is antibacterial but can cause galvanic corrosion or whatever its called without an inhibiter.
yeah well GB isn't a water cooling company. ive never seen algae that's brown and eats into nickel and you did have silver in it...Nope, never needed it before. interesting gigabyte replied with the following.
From the pictures, it looks like algae grow inside the waterblock.
To prevent alga growth, silver or chemical needs to be combined with coolant for the cooling system

or maybe there were flaws in the block and water flow is picking at it.
Don't take it apart.
Gigabyte will illegally void your warranty for unscrewing anything. Even if you were just changing the thermal paste.
Good luck with Gigabyte's slow ass RMA process. You'll see what I mean.
