Request: Windows 10 Power Options Program - Keep Windows awake when certain programs are open

Didn't know where to post this so giving it a shot here... My power options settings are set to Turn off display: 10 minutes, Put computer to sleep: Never. When I play the iHeartRadio app on Windows 10, because the display turns off after 10 minutes, you can no longer hear the iHeartRadio app. Sure I could change the setting when I play the app but that's a bit of a pain. Is there a program where it will avoid this when certain programs are running? It does this when your playing Windows Media Player, doesn't turn off. Thanks for any help!

Sounds like a problem with the iHeartRadio app, I'd say contact the developers of that app and tell them what's happening because that should not be occurring just because the display goes to sleep, that's a bit ridiculous.

I can make you a tool that does not change you power plans but simply tells you pc to keep you mointor on when iheart radiso is running.

Power options -> Advanced settings - change a few settings in there, like under the Sleep section there's a few settings to try.

I've had a few issues when I change just the main power plan (usually to High Performance) but some of the sub options were still putting my PC to sleep. Had to go in manually and turn everything off then it worked as intended.

The problem is Windows Apps don't run from an .exe
I'll have to look at Process Lasso and Insomnia but again, most of these work when they see an .exe

I'm pretty sure Windows Apps do have their own unique .exe's - I just checked, iheartradio uses an .exe called ClearChannel.View.Exe that opens when it's run and closes as it's exited. So you should be able to add it to process lasso or the other app.

what my toll would do is simply pull the same flag the media players does to ensure idle timeouts are not in effect for shutting down monitor/pc. but without changing the settings

i use it already in project mercury to monitor for cpu usage. and keep the flg up as long as cpu usage is above 8% so it doesnt shut off when im doing overnight heavy cpu stuff

This has a timer too so you can set it to put your computer to sleep or shutdown after a set amount of time.

I have a few lines of VB code that turns on off the cap lock every 5 minutes or so... keeps the system awake... Run then vsb file when you need it, kill it in task manager when you don't need it
