1080ti SLI + 8700k OC on a 750W?

I picked up another 1080ti from a family member, and wondering if I should even attempt this, Corsair 750W PSU. Already have a single 1080ti in there, and an 8700k OC @ 4.8ghz.
 
Rig in my sig was causing brown outs on mt 1250W Seasonic which was only 4+ years old. Maybe it was just it's time. Anyway, if you are going to run multiple GPU's and overclock I recommend over buying on a decent power supply as it won't have to work as hard to supply constant v's. I bought a 1600w EVGA Titanium.. most I've ever spent on a PSU. But it should last quite some time.
 
someone else around here was having issue with a 850w. 1000w fixed it. I always recommend to double the gpus minimum recommended. they have that minimum for a reason.
 
It's probably borderline. I personally wouldn't try it for long term unless you can afford a replacement.
 
the rig would be used 2-3 hours a day while mining at 75% power the rest of the day. So I'm thinking just keep it separate

I'm starting to think that there must have been a bad run of these, because both of mine (original + RMA unit) took a dump in a similar fashion, being unable to deliver past ~600W before continually shutting off, and I've seen quite a few other posts from people with similar problems. I just shelved it and replaced it with a backup semi-modular Corsair, and now an EVGA SuperNOVA. Shame, since every single other Seasonic PSU I had/have has continued to work perfectly to this day.

Seasonic and PCP&C used to be my go to players for heavy load systems. Seems an adjustment might be in order.
 
Frankly, I don't think it is borderline. Depending on what you are doing there should be no issues with the rig. It might not be the most energy efficient solution is all.
 
OP, trust me on this, get a 1000w PSU for your rig. Don't listen to kniwor, you are asking for trouble by cheaping out on the power supply. I own the exact components you are buying. Under full load overclocked I'm pushing 800w of power consumption. Do you really think it's safe overloading a 750w unit? I don't. You're supposed to have some overhead with your power supply.

Also when I say I maxed out my rig, that was with the CPU and both GPUs pegged. If the hard drives and other components were in use it would have gone even higher.

If you insist on using a 750w unit, you will need to throttle your cards down to 70% power usage or something. You will lose a lot of gaming performance.

The PSU is the very last component you should ever skimp on when building a computer.
