Wish I could afford a ryzen AND ddr4 ram to go along with this board. Sadly I cannot afford all 3 or else I would jump on this.
 
I had this board, and I didn't like it. Definitely an early Ryzen board and it shows.
 
Have had some sort of issue with every Asus Ryzen board. Feel like if you don't get their top of the line it's not worth it. I looks like I'm not the only one with that sentiment.
 
Odd, I've not had issues with mine. As my plex server, it only reboots once every 60 days or so. Not dismissing everyone else's issues, just chiming in. It was the only reasonably priced board at micro center when I bought it back in August.

That's not necessarily true. I had a pretty good experience with the Strix B350-F board that was in the second wave of the 1st Gen Ryzen boards I think I paid $99 for it. Seems like they ironed out their early problems. The Prime B350 and the Prime Pro X370 boards were much more finicky being from the 1st wave of boards right around launch.

It sounds like the X470 boards are having much fewer issues than the early B350/X370 boards.

Yeah I'm sure they're better vs the release boards, but to add to this I have not had the best experience with their x399 strix board as well. Just leaving a bit to be desired. Idk, maybe I'm just weird but I've had better experiences with both Gigabyte and MSI on Ryzen.
 
I had this board running in my signature rig since January with no issues...Last week it decided to randomly stop working and no amount of troubleshooting would fix it.

The Frag Harder Disco lights would come on, and all 9 fans on my rads would power up, but it would not boot. Looking around in Google and this was a very common issue with the board randomly bricking the bios and exhibiting the same issues.

It hurt me to have to spend money on another Asus product, but I jumped on the Asus 470 Prime with the 20% coupon from NE via eBay for$149 since I NEED 3 PCI-E 16X slots for my 3 VEGAs.

It was a decent board but I knew it had it's share of issues and considering it's Asus you get zero RMA support without a massive hassle. I bought mine from MC and thankfully bought a 2 year replacement plan so it's going back to them.
 
I bought used this and opened the box, Sadly Someone broke it so I returned it for refunds.

Plan to get new or used X470 boards.

Last week I bought a Maximus Formula X motherboard from the Amazon warehouse described as "Like new". It came to me with a large scratch on the PCB which cut a few of the leads, it did boot up but I was concerned on future RMA possibilities. So I returned it and bought another "Like new" and it came to me with a large pencil eraser sized burned hole in the PCIE slot..... So I bought another "Like-new" one and it came to me like new, but it didn't boot up and the serial didn't even match the box, which means someone perhaps swapped it...

Be very cautious when buying computer components on Amazon is all I'm saying. I'm done buying Amazon warehouse computer components.

I would I agree, but I haven't been burned yet so I'll probably play with the fire a bit longer... Lol
 
I’ve had issues with EVERY X370 board, such a terrible chipset. The B350 on the other hand hasn’t so much had a random reboot.

I was going to move to X470 but man that’s an expensive side grade. Think I’ll wait for a complete refresh.

It's not the chipset itself so much as the half baked BIOS code most MB makers forced on us. That is the reason I waited almost 9 months to move to Ryzen.

I wouldn’t blame the MB makers, AMD gave them a hot minute to get boards out the same time they released their CPU’s. AMD has a history of this as well.
 
My two x370 mitx boards / boxes have worked without a hitch. One is an Asrock and the other is a Biostar. Maybe it's because my setups are pretty minimalist - 2 sticks of ram (2x16) and an M.2 drive. My asrock has a GPU in it and my Biostar has a BR drive and a wifi PCI card but otherwise no other SATA or optical or cards.

Admittedly, it was a rough start, but the bios / firmware updates have ironed out any bugs I've run into (which was really only one - the Biostar board had crackly audio).

That aside, I did / do have problems with an ASUS, my intel box in my sig. Out of my close to 30 years of computer geekery - the only ever board malfunction I've had was this - my current - x99 Asus board. One dead ram slot out of the 8 on the board and of course it's the first ram slot too.

All of my other boards have lasted at least long enough to age out (get replaced by an upgrade part).

I don't think it's better unless you're using multiple video cards. I owned both. The B350-F had far less issues for me. The Prime X370 Pro fought me every step of the way, specifically with memory. I even had issues getting my Flare X memory to work at rated speeds in the X370 board. No issues at all with the B350-F. I also run Hynix C16 memory at 3000mhz without issue using XMP in the B350-F. Would only get 2933mhz in the X370 and I'd have to manually set the timings.

Cool, thanks. I've had my strix for a week but it's been as painless as one can hope.
