How Much Have You Spent on Steam?

zero, Not only do I not want a client on my computer that I need to ask permission to play a game, hell I don't even have time to play games that I bought and installed.
I'll wait till a game I want to play is DRM free, screw steam.

GOG.com for no DRM. Will get a few modern games and new releases from time to time (Witcher 3).

Sorry, no offense intended.....But what you are saying is....You don't like to play games!

I wouldn't want to see my GoG account though. Yeah, I spend way too much on computer games (and hardware).

Because you spent $2400.00 on games? Have you got a reasonable amount of enjoyment out of them?

Heck, I know a friend of mine that spends ~$10.00 each working day on two Starbucks Coffees. That is $2600 a year for substandard coffee! I can brew the same stuff in a multitude of ways for literally $2-3 a day and it will taste a whole hell of a lot better than Starshmucks~

No, I don't game that much anymore.
I have not even played most of my Steam games.

Absolutely, bought witcher 3 from there, awesome game [If I ever get a chance to finish it]
Sadly GOG does not have most modern games from some of the larger studios, yet.

I do, I still have CD's from 15 years ago, lol but I don't have as much time now as I once did.

I'll try and finish Oblivion someday and Skyrim too. I installed ME III but have yet to even start it.

Started with a 2600, played the hell out of my C64, back in the day when you could get a floppy and swap games with friends [and not get fined or go to jail]

$2195 for me. Would be more except I prefer Itch.io and GOG when I have the option.

916 total and 500 old spend.

Not bad for 12 years. Lots of Humble store keys activated in the last few years as shopping around is easier these days. Pre Ordered Battletech with a 10% off coupon even so that’s the closest to full price I’ve gone in a long time. Honestly I thought it would be more.

But I got Steam in 2004 for CS 1.6, and I bought a retail copy of Half-Life 2.

I was almost afraid to check... but the total isn't too bad actually.
I tend to buy games only when they're on a good sale, at least 50% off or more
/the only one I regret buying is Bowl Bound Football... what a pos!

HO LEE SHIT.

Epic!

Someone in finance tell us how much we would have made solidly investing 9k over the last 14 years! Hell even gambling on crypto...

How many games in the library anyway?
Coming up on 800.

A little. More to Blizzard

Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Fuck all squared.

If I were 20 years younger that would likely have been different.

Sad to say, computer gaming is something you outgrow with the passing of the seasons.

It's not I don't enjoy games any longer (I have a few favourites that I fire up every now and again) but it's now in short, small doses. The pressures of adult life simply don't allow the partitioning of limited headspace that way, and definitely not in a way that justifies spending money on games or delivery platforms.

Most damningly, as you get old, the notion of wasting time on mindless pursuits becomes intolerable as your life's clock ticks away faster and faster.

I turned my nose up at Steam when Valve first launched the platform, but it's exploded beyond my wildest expectations and it's impressive.

Suckers! :)

Where are you guys getting the total hour count?

I have tons of games, just buy them elsewhere. Mostly just played CS a ton and nothing else back in those days.
