Incinerate and infernal blow, two of my fave skills just got reworked for 3.3. Incin looks flat out awesome now.

Yeah new Incinerate kinda looks like a fire version of Blade Flurry. I hope it has good synergy with ignite.

I like this a lot.

A 13 room dungeon randomly generated from 70 different types of rooms and you can customize it one room at a time with every combination producing a set of different rewards. Should have plenty of replayability.

It certainly looks cool, although we'll need to wait and see what kind of RNG they bake into the whole scheme to really judge it.

For whatever reason these guys love creating stuff and then putting absurd levels of RNG. A 6-link probability? Sure, I get it. Stuff like Lich spawns? Why? Why can people go a whole league only seeing a few, or only seeing 2 of 3 variants, etc? They continue to do this as though everyone plays the game for 10 hours a day.

After the disaster that was Bestiary I wonder if they'll be looking to "give the people what they want" with this new expansion, and it certainly smacks of Breach design which can only be a good thing.

It looks well made, the way she pops up in areas, with a vaal portal, just like the side areas, with some of the missions being timed like breachlord areas, with the option to either fail and tank the area on your future map or accept it and add it to the current ruin map. It looks like instead of eq, you're crafting an enjoyable, yet highly customizable end game loot pinata. This.. makes my day.

So I just picked this up and have been playing the last month or so. I really don't like reading guides too much(at least for the first play through), as it takes away imo the immersion of the game. Plus some guy gave me a couple stacks of orbs of regrets, so that helps me too.

My main is a level 56 Ranger, and I of course went full damage across the skill tree. Now I'm seeing that not focusing on much else is totally screwing me. Shit is getting intense.

So I've lowered my damage significantly, have been using a few auras and that decoy totem, along with getting my resistances at or above 75%, evasion at 50% and dodge chance at around 50%. So far, so good.

My questions to you all is this, do these skill gems eventually evolve at some point?

Why does my chaos resistance constantly say "-30%"? No matter what, element resist doesn't effect this stat for some reason.

Yeah, you done f'd up. You really should read at least a basic guide. You really want to follow a build guide your first few times through. There's no good reason to use a gimped build due to lack of knowledge.

They level and you can boost their quality...that makes them scale. But the real trick is in linking support gems to your main skills. Getting a 6L piece of equipment (ie. bow or body armour for your Ranger) and linking up the right support gems to your main damage skill will increase your damage exponentially.

Why does my chaos resistance constantly say "-30%"? No matter what, element resist doesn't effect this stat for some reason.

Chaos is a separate resistance and is not an "Element". You get -30% to all resistances after completing Act 5 and another -30% after completing Act 10. At the point in the game you're at, you don't really have to worry about Chaos Resistance yet.

ZiggyD's walkthrough explaining the incursion league mechanics as well as a temple run.

ZiggyD's walkthrough explaining the incursion league mechanics as well as a temple run.

Whew, that broke my brain.

So yikes, only one shot at upgrading each room in the temple per character, huh? And looks like it's going to be up to RNGesus whether you get good options and doors on those rooms.

I will see how it evolves, I did not pay 1€ to the game so far so whatever happens I'm not losing anything from this, while the game is not bad, I'm not sure how to word this correctly, but to me the game looks a bit bland, it misses the thing that makes great games special, think most changes if any from the above statement will be China based so don't realy care about that, I'm not into the whole cosmetic dlc buying kind of thing that's all the rage these days.

Aix pretty much nailed it. I think that's about enough of that, for now. I had no problem supporting these guys when they were indie, now.. newp

I'm not thrilled about this. I've always purchased supporter packs for the new leagues, there doesn't seem to be much point of that anymore.

Agreed and it's made even worse by the fact that Tencent is a willing participant in China's social credit system which is some downright orwellian bullshit.

I'm happy for the devs tho, they sold a shit ton of shares so their hard work paid off.

If the games are good then I'll continue to play, and if they offer something worth paying for I'll probably continue to pay (within reason). Tencent's involvement in a social credit system in China is more of a:

I'm not about to take some moral stand and stop playing my two favorite games (PoE and Fortnite) based on what Tencent does in China, especially not if the games are good. China's gonna do what China's gonna do, and if it wasn't Tencent it would be some other company contracted by their government.

How to get worm flask nerfed once again

https://giant.gfycat.com/JampackedIgnorantBarracuda.webm

Ingredients:

5x The Writhing Jar flask = Spews 2 worms when used (4 uses per flask)

1x The Three Dragons helm = Your fire damage can only shock but not ignite

2x Stormfire ring = (4-6)% increased burning damage for each enemy you have shocked recently

1x Southbound gloves = Your hits can only kill frozen enemies

The gloves make it so that the worms cannot be killed from any form of damage except from a skill that FREEZES them but we purposely avoid getting any cold/freezing damage.

The helm makes it so that all your fire damage shocks can cannot ignite and combined with the rings they give us 4-6% increased burning damage every time we shock.

We use firestorm which drops a fireball every 0.1 seconds and stack the damage given by the rings. There was no restriction on shocking an enemy that was already shocked so you could just keep shocking the worms over and over for as long as they stayed alive on their own which was about 4 seconds.

Then finally to kill (more like melt) things we switched to Scorching Ray which is pure burning damage over time so it doesn't shock and it doesn't ignite allowing us to get around the restrictions from the Helm and Gloves. We could get upwards of 10-20k% increased burning damage with scorching ray easily passing 15million dps.

The only "expensive" items the build used were the 2 rings since they had just been introduced in this recent league everything else was just 1alc or a couple of chaos worth each.

The end result:

That's goddamn beautiful. It's kind of surprising they haven't given in and just removed The Writhing Jar from the game yet.

GGG keeps nerfing the Flask mechanics to destroy builds created around it but the community keeps finding ways to overcome all these nerfs. This has been going for more than 2 years now.

I got into the worm flask build bandwagon with Wormblaster 3, that build was a thing of pure beauty with permanent immortal call and stupid amounts of damage.

I finally beat this game, or so I thought. Level 45, apparently when you beat the game, you start over as a new game in a new area killing church people.

Just realized level cap is 100. FML...

Just getting back into playing this after a long break from it. Man, this game has changed a LOT & its really giving me that Diablo 2 vibe, its awesome. Currently working on a Templar Battlemage that uses fire.

Patch notes for Friday's Incursion league release are up. Also, check out the reworked skill gems in today's news post. What are you all going to start with?

Tried to post the notes here in a spoiler but even 1/3 of them seems to break the 20,000 character limit...happy reading!

Their tactics to hype shit up are starting to get predictable.

This is Incinerate from the video preview they showed to get everyone hyped about it. That video will remain out there for everyone to see with no corrections made.

And this is the actual nerfed version going into the game being shown on a post that will later get buried and swept under the rug in the forums

Yeah, I've already seen it. Reminds me of how they dumpstered storm burst, after everyone was excited to play it. Fucking ggg.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I've got a lot of time in the game. (Like 6k hours, smdh) Wouldn't trade it up for the world. It would just be nice if they would just drop something and leave it be. I want to play incinerate, and have it be fun, not half-assed, y'know?

Oh I know, I know the feeling, all the way back to D2.

Can anyone tell me what gear I should be focusing on? I have been bouncing between Evasion and Energy Shield, but I think I need to go all in on one or the other. Also been bouncing between a wand and a dagger paired with a shield. I have been told that most aoe spells don't crit, so just been focusing on the damage.

Level 51 Shadow. Here is my build:
www.poeurl.com/bVWT
www.poeurl.com/bVXg

Using:
Ethereal Knives / Blood Rage / Blade Vortex
Contagion / Wither / Despair / Temporal Chains / Chaos Golem

Basically an AOE dot build with Blade Vortex for close and Ethereal Knives for ranged.

Can't check the tree at the moment, but half of what I see is good. Ek/bv/br bits are fine. The contagion and wither dont fit, really. You have tons of room and socket space to set a few things up, like a cwdt setup, blasphemy a curse, and even run a herald, as well a movement oskill.

Check into running a dagger with spell damage, and also so you can use whirling blades and fortify. Also think about throwing in a ring of blades threshold jewel to make your ek a nova skill. As per curses, temp chains is ok, but vulnerability will serve you best.

If I were you I'd dig around on the forums and see what you can glean. I see you're playing a shadow, but look up some gem links and general tree ideas from the ranger forum. Ek nova is really fun. Oh, the other thing, you probably want to focus on evasion, and pick up acrobatics. Leave es and hybrid out of it for now. Good luck!

Without factoring in increases from gear, passives, or supports, it looks like Storm Burst @ lvl 20 has been buffed over the previous iteration: a damage increase of 65% for the burst and 260% for the projectiles prior to the "burst" portion of the spell. The new damage effectiveness of 40% (up from 10%) allows it to scale a tad higher as you add flat spell damage, although not really significantly. At a glance, spells like this are pretty irritating to consider: the original wording was essentially "low spell damage + 10% effectiveness of added damage + 250% more area damage when the spells bursts." Now it's significantly higher spell damage + 40% effectiveness + 60% more area damage.

I'm also curious how the reworked Charged Dash will be, although it seems they reworked the mechanics of the skill and not just the numbers involved.

Can't hop on, but I'm really interested in seeing how incin performs, especially on totems, crit or otherwise. Adding base crit to the skill is huge, imo.
