NVIDIA GTC Taiwan Keynote - 2018

One thing I have to admit, I sure do enjoy an Nvidia announcement. No waste of time presentation like AMD from unwilling engineers.
Jensen comes out in the leather jacket, spills out tech stuff they are proud of, and then casually intros the new GPU.
 
I wonder if Bennett will make another surprise appearance like he did at that AMD conference while he was on their shit list.
 
Im done with them as a company, they have taken their position of power and used it for evil...they wont get a cent out of me. Looking forward to a third player in the GPU market, hopefully the Intel design isnt a steaming pile. Three way competition is much more interesting...

I could care less i buy what is the fastest or best value. That said i hope amd cames back but sadly i don't see that happening unless Nvidia screws up.
 
I hope AMD ends up wrecking nvidia. It will humble them. They are just another Amazon Jeff Bozo dominate the world type outfit. People hate that shite.
 
I just joined it, have they unveiled any new GPU yet? He's talking about HPC..

I was a bit behind in the video, but he said it could transfer 900gb a second. Then said that a 4k movie is about 50gb, so this thing could potentially transfer 300 4k movies in a single second.

I'll let you do that fancy math.

When you cross over from self-promotion to late night TV "Wait there's more!" That is to be expected. He literally needs an "applause" sign. LITERALLY. It would be a lot less painful that watching him forcing the audience to clap to with his long pauses and accusing them of being too stupid to understand his "jokes." The Jensen show has jumped the shark.
 
I will buy used nvidia shit all day. Never new. Got me a 1080 ti. I'll either buy navi new if it competes well or next gen nvidia gpu second hand rofl. So in a sense I am using a better card than AMD currently but paying to a community member rather than nvidia.

Of course I'm curious about a 1180TI. . . .maybe, finally, a real 4k card if and when it exists.

Beyond that, NV reminds me of a drunk, divorced, jobless, near-homeless bitter uncle who's come over for some kind of holiday and telling you how much better you have it while they insult everything about your life. I mentioned in some other thread awhile back how cool it would be if celebrity death match did another episode of Jobs vs Jensen or as I envision it, sweater vs jacket.
 
looks like its all about prosumers right now. I don't think Nvidia is in a hurry to release gaming cards. I mean it makes sense pascal is still selling well. They are keeping it close to chest for now.
 
I know I have a 1060 3gb. I wanted a vega 56 but they cost more than my s10. I hope AMD can make a good card for regular prices. I have used AMD since 9600pro agp AVIO (xt flashed) days and had to go geforce for the cheaper card :*( I am going 2700x when I retire this i7-950 it would be nice to buy a (regular priced) Radeon with the new build.

I think Navi will put AMD on the right path. There is no point in releasing a card that will get knocked on out of the gate. Notice how RTG has gone quiet since Lisa took over? Seems like all work no talk, get the product done and then open your mouth type of deal. If Raja was still incharge I am sure he would still by hyping things. For once I like the silence from RTG. Looks like lisa got em working lol.
