Thanks to this awesome forum, I managed to buy a used 1080ti for, shockingly, less than MSRP.

I've never owned a "flagship" GPU before this, and I know Nvidia's new cards are just around the corner, but this 1.) Feels like success and 2.) Will do me just fine for my 1440 preference.

I'll deffo be putting a waterblock on it, but the air cooler is so dang nice it feels a shame to take it off.

Cheers you guys! My framerates are on top of the world! :woot:

Beautiful setup! Haven't built a pc from the ground up since the one in my sig yearsssss back. Looks like people are doing more of these "open air" type cases eh?

I don't know how popular they are as a whole, but I've been seeing a few; I love mine. Really displays the nice hardware I bought and makes maintenance a breeze.

I love these cases with the side mounted cards, great way to show off that Ti. Congrats and welcome to the club, now get out there and crush those frames!

Congrats on the new baby :) someday I'll be in the flagship GPU club, but a long ways off. 2 kids full time daycare costs 2x my house mortgage so I'll still rocking a GTX 770 that I bought like 1.5 generations after it came out since it's the best I could and still can do lol.

Great case, ...I like mine too! How did you secure the mb I/O plate? Mine just sits there held on by the various connections.

With that setup, what possible need would he have for the I/O plate?

Looks wicked! How is the noise level on a setup like this?
Very quiet. You can hear it, but it's like... It's a gentle whoosh from the fans and a faint, pleasant hum from the D5. You'd think it would be noisier since the fans are open, but it's not; I think the fact that they're just pulling open air instead of sucking through any mesh or grating makes them quieter overall.

One thing that is WAY worse than a closed case, however, is the occasional incident of coil whine. That's MUCH louder, for obvious reasons. XD

Cheers to you, I did similar and bit the bullet on a Titan X. Fuck it my frames feel great even at 4K!

Yep. I clean it way more often than I ever cleaned my mid tower, but it also only takes me a couple of seconds to clean. =)
you should buy those PC Air blower things. Saved me a lot of cash vs canned air. Might be better for the environment? Lol.

Oh, I have one. I actually use it for a lot more than dusting electronics too. The $50 hurt but it was a sound investment.

Totally agree, I have had my Air blower now for over 7 years. Saved me a lot of money in the long run.
