[HOT] Fullsized RGB Mech. Keyboard with Outemu for $25.99 on Amazon!

I am also enjoying mine. Lighting effects are cool and the keys feel very nice. The unit does suffer from the high pitched noise mentioned, but thankfully it sits mostly idle in my home office :)

Ever used buckling springs?

Yes I have. The IBM Model M keyboard was my very first PC keyboard. After that, I've almost always used mechanical keyboards, but unfortunately, none have been quite that good. The Cherry MX Blues and other blue switches designed to emulate them are about as good as I've found.

thanks.....this looks exactly what i been waiting for!!!.....Im thinking of getting the brown after reading up on them

I have the blues and i think this is the best keyboard i have ever seen for $39.99 it easily could charge double for it.

Can you make the backlight uniform, with a selection of colors? All red/green/blue etc? Or is it stuck in rainbow brite mode, like some of the other inexpensive RGB keyboards I've seen?

I've been through a couple. Right now using a Corsair K55 (which isn't really mechanical) which I like but don't love. I had an Azio MGK-1 and it was a thing of beauty, but only did blue/white LEDs and the Kahlil blues were so damn loud, even with o-rings. Wifey said that thing had to go, she could hear me typing from the living room.

You can make all the colors uniform. It has several lighting effects and different gaming modes which light up only portions of the board. The keys appear to have almost no lettering at all when it isn't lit.

Was about to buy one but I just saw it doesn't have dedicated volume buttons. That's a must have for me, so sadly I must pass.

You can just hit FN+F2 or FN+F3. (Volume down and volume up respectively.) Personally, I can't stand the added clutter of dedicated media controls which are always subpar quality compared to every other button on a mechanical keyboard.

So I just received mine, like many of you, I simply bought it because it was so cheap. I did have some use for it on a 2nd gaming machine that was using and older wireless keyboard. I also wanted to compare these keys to my Corsair K95 with Cherry MX Red switches.

I'll start off with the cons first. Many of these are subjective.

1) The key font is pretty atrocious IMO. The 8 looks like a freaking H and the 6 looks like a G. I don't like the layout of the characters. For example, I'll use the 8 key again... You have the 8 and you have the * symbol to the right of the 8 instead of under it such is the case with traditional keyboards.
2) I can't get and angle I'm completely comfortable with. With the feet folded in it lays too flat, as with any keyboard. With the feet extended it lays at just slightly too steep of an angle, but I think that's something I'll probably get used to.
3) No integrated palm rest. Wasn't really expecting one for $26 but you certainly notice it's not there when you've always had one before.
4) It does exhibit "coil whine" I barely noticed it initially, but later in the evening when I started using it in an otherwise quiet room, you can certainly tell it's there and can get a little irritating.
5) Space bar feels slightly flimsy
6) It's LOUD!

On to the pros
1) While loud, the keys feel great with plenty of tactile feedback.
2) Decent amount of "semi-custom" LED display options
3) With the exception of the space bar being a little flimsy, everything else appears to be well built and put together. The keyboard has a decent weight to it, the USB cord is nice and thick, the bottom of the keyboard is lined with rubber for good traction on virtually any surface
4) It was $26

General Observations:
1) You cannot (at least I haven't found out how) fully customize the LED layout. It has several preset options to choose from but you have to cycle through them to figure out what you like best
2) The LED brightness is probably equivalent to about the "medium" brightness setting on the Corsair K95
3) Next to the Num/Caps/Scroll lock LED's there's an LED labeled "Wil" that's always been on and I have no idea what it's for.

Overall, it's certainly not going to replace my K95 but it'll do just fine for a secondary gaming machine.

If you read the instructions manual in the box, you can actually custom program profiles for the LED's. It's super customizable.

Now if I could silence the could whine...

Here are my thoughts on the points you raised:
Cons:
1.) Agreed.
2.) This wasn't an issue with me.
3.) I hate integrated palms rests and wouldn't buy a keyboard that has one. I hate them. I don't mind it being optional or included, but integrated? Fuck that.
4.) Yes, there is coil whine and it's headache inducing for me.
5.) The spacebar feels fine to me.
6.) Anything designed to resemble Cherry MX Blue switches is going to be loud compared to Cherry MX Reds. It's that simple.

Pros:
1.) Agreed.
2.) Also agreed.
3.) It is surprisingly well built despite the coil whine issue and the price. However, we got these on sale. I don't think $28 is the normal price.
4.) Indeed.

General Observations:
1.) You can't do anything other than use the presets for color customization.
2.) I think they are plenty bright. I haven't really messed with that as the thing was bright enough to begin with, but not too bright. On my Ducky I use a setting of two I think to provide a reference point.
3.) The LED in question denotes the Windows keys are disabled. Simply hit FN+Windows key to enable or disable this feature.

If I can't stop the coil whine I'll have to stop using it. with headphones on I can drown out the noise but I don't like to have headphones on all the time.

I believe he's saying "Pray that it never turns off." because if it does, then you can hit the annoying Windows keys while gaming.
I was being silly, but it sounds like you figured out what the Wil led means. Do you know how to toggle it?

I bought the 10 key less one that Lanoix posted....but it sounds a lot like the keyboard in this thread minus the coil wine and of course double the cost. My favorite thing to do is customize the color of each key. Finally got to retire my 9 year old lighted saitek eclipse!
Is anyone here ever botrhered by the keyboard light being reflected on your display? Its pretty easy to see my keyboard lights on my screen since its not a mat screen.

In some conditions, yes. Doing desktop and productivity work I don't notice it or it's harder to detect. When watching a movie or playing games its more obvious. I turn off the lights in those cases or drop to a minimal number of keys that are backlit.

Why is it that to get a properly designed keycap (number and F key) that shows BOTH possible actions you have to buy a cheap no-name keyboard, yet none of the multi-hundred $$$ keyboards seem to have figured this out?

In case this wasn't clear, the keyboard emits a high pitched whine. I can only hear it when I'm positioned a certain ways, and reasonably close to the thing. Unfortunately, I hear it most of the time while using it. I was getting headaches from it and had to switch back to my old one.

I'm going to contact the manufacturer and see what they say on Monday. Maybe it' a defective batch, maybe there is some sort of fix for it. Hopefully at worst I can get an RMA and swap this for one that doesn't give me headaches.

Probably has zero to do with anything..but is there a ferrite filter on the cord? there certainly is one on mine.

I do not have one on mine. I may invest in one for a few bucks on amazon. Wish I still had a old monitor sitting around that had the removable ones.

Let me know what they say. I'd be interested in swapping mine out also if it is a defective batch.

I just pulled mine back out of the box. It lacks a ferrite filter.

So MAYBE we have a potential fix for you guys noisy issues....I just know mine is as quite as a mouse and has one right before the end of the cable where it plugs into my motherboard. Couldn't hurt right?

I'm going to try and find one and see if it fixes it. I hope it's that simple.

I ordered one even though I wanted browns but I will report back if it has the ferrite core.

from what Ive read online the high pitch whine is due to the pwm controller for the LEDs. not sure if ferrite will fix it but it might.

Just got mine. Has the ferrite filter and is totally quiet. Guess I got lucky. It's definitely going to take some time to get used to this keyboard as it's the first mechanical I've ever had. I actually like how clicky it is. I was worried that it would annoy me. I know many people prefer the quieter keys.

It is much much brighter than my Logitech 510s. That's a good thing.

So far so good.

Thanks, Mut1ny, for the heads up!

Just got back from vacation to check mine out. It does have the filter (near the connector) and still makes the noise. I just ordered some extra filters, I'll add another one up where the cable goes into the keyboard to see if that helps any. Not expecting much, if any changes, but it'll be a fun little experiment.

I guess I got really lucky. That whine that some have reported would have driven me nuts, been a deal breaker.

Mine has the ferrite filter and is audible from the door at the other side of the room.
