Sources claim that ASUS will be unveiling a ROG-branded smartphone at this year’s Computex show, which takes place in June. The specifications are unknown, but, being a gaming device, expect the latest Snapdragon chip and a generous amount of RAM.

A Snapdragon 845 chipset will surely power up the device, since it's the most powerful SoC currently on the market, paired with 8GB of RAM for more fluent operation and a high-refresh rate display for a buttery-smooth gaming experience. Probably somewhere in the realm of 120 or even 144 Hz.

The only device im looking forward to seeing is what Google brings to the table with the Pixel 3. Hard to get exited over a device that will be heavily skinned, receive maybe one major update late to the game, and that will have similar specs to every other device besides a higher refresh rate screen . Running Android P dev beta 2 on an og Pixel and its pretty stable . If i want gaming on the go I have my Switch.

You mean they can make a “gaming” branded mobile product without using Nvidia’s Tegra? How am I, as a consumer, supposed to understand what I’m getting?

so.. it will be a phone that is COVERED in LEDS that all glow in colors.. even went not on.. like my motherboard for my threadripper

Gotta admit, I'd probably buy one. I seem to be a fan of everything ROG these days. They're really hitting their stride with this line.

They can't even keep mainboard bios's up to date. You think they can keep their smartphone updated with their customized interface over android? This thing will age poorly.
