Maybe the USB wifi I had was better than what is onboard for this new build. I picked up a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 X470 that has the "wave 2" but my connection speeds are no where near the 1.73 claims.. closer to like 570mbps. I installed the driver but chose not to install the intel software. Is this something that will be needed in order to get the faster throughput? My netgear AC1200 USB adpater was letting me transfer files over 30mb/s but not I am only hitting around 20 with this new build. Thx for any help in advance!

After doing some reading I thought Wave 2 was some gigabyte lingo but it looks like I have been away for far to long.

Most likely that gigabyte has a mimo 2x2 config. Same placement of the attena? Check driver settings for power settings? Try a different channel on your router/AP?

Yeah, everything is same.. the netgear USB adapter is just much faster.. hitting speeds of 35mb/s transfer when the onboard could barely get over 20. Such a shame. I guess I will continue to use the netgear usb piece. Gigabyte failed to give me the ability to disable the network adapters in bios.

Did you get the drivers off of intels web site? Looks like they have some from the 1st of the month. If it is the 8265 adapter
