Guys let's support AMD gpu, and boycott Nvidia, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI

Buy whatever you like, I posted it because IMO nvidia was doing some shitty tactics to try and gain more market share (this is small potatoes now but in the future if it happens it's bad for everyone). I've learned Intel is entering the discrete GPU market and AMD new offerings are competitive. I hate intel tactics also but a 3rd gpu player, and a giant behemoth of a player will keep nvidia in check and that's good for everyone, amd gpu, nvidia gpu and intel gpu users.

I always root for the the underdog (same as in sports for me, I love an underdog story). I don't really care that much about gpus, my 7970 miner has chugged along since 2013, paid for itself and it doesn't lack anything for my needs right now.

Rewarding the party that does less...is putting the cart before the horse...it's fuzzy-warm-feeling sparyed with illogic.

Bull!
You care enough to make post about the GPU market and keep posting in those posts.
I don't believe you words for one tiny, bit...

How about this logic when someone is outselling their competitor in the way Nvidia does why all the software gimmicks and GPP. That makes your comments look like you don't have a clue what you are talking about ...

Because what said about him certainly applies to you as well. And the next person can say that about me as well. But you did not offer a single point to counter his argument that when companies are taking anti competitive measures then he should just take it.

So explain it to us all please GPP is no reason to be worried right, that is justified because Nvidia is better?

I'm to old for "brand loyalty".
performance is what I buy...neither AMD/INTEL/NVIDIA are your friends...they are companies interested in getting you to purchase their products (for an profit).

That's it!

All the rest is pure FUD&BULL...

So GPP is bull and fud ?

No, it's a really shitty move.
It's enough to make me lean more towards AMD for my next upgrade, provided they can offer a compelling product. I'm not buying anything based on a pity party, just as they won't mail me a check if something terrible happens to me.

That leads to people making these threads and not buying Nvidia. Way to go ....

Telling people to boycott Asus/Gigabyte/etc only cements Nvidia's place as owning the branding and hurts AMD in the wider market... The people that are so vehemently opposed to the GPP should be telling others to buy the new AMD branded cards to show the AIB's that joined the GPP that it was a mistake.

Whoever makes the better product for the dollar gets my money. rarely has it been AMD. The ryzen had terrible issues early on and is just now becoming a viable product but intel has already countered by adding cores. Vega is a pretty good product but it too has been plagued by technical issues. Biggest being heat. HBM is terrible when it gets hot. the 580 outside of mining is trash and was just a rebrand anyway.

AMD is a real joke in the mobile market where the power consumption and heat generation only gets worse. They've always had a small niche of APU gamers and this intel + vega CPU looks pretty good but again thats having heat issues. The really great thing is proper DTR that can game and work are finally here and finally in the 5lb and less area to be PORTABLE! The fact is I buy AMD from time to time when they finally make something worth a damn. We need them in the market so that Intel doesn't do what they did for several years with doing almost zero improvements to their chips. AMD finally did something right and the counter strikes from Intel/Nvidia are what we NEED. the 8th gen U series specifically means I can actually do real work on ultraportables for the first time.

It is not that important to begin with the bulk of sales come from non AMD cards. I'm guessing they don't care either way since it will barely have an effect on sales.

You think these kind of posts will affect NVIDIA's financials in a measureable form?

Because then I got a bridge for sale...special price...just for you...

I would totally support buying a Vega 56 over 1070 Ti... but Vega 56 is going for about double its MSRP, which is nuts.

And I really do need a card that's as powerful as Vega 56 or 1070Ti.

Yeah you never got that message to begin with it is about people with principles rather then being stuck with consumerism. I don't care about Nvidia financials and I never will for that matter it is a separate issue and has nothing to do with this topic anyway.

Ok, I've been known to pom pom wave for nvidia and intel, but I really don't understand the point? I always wind up with AMD CPU's because Intel jacks up their price and I just don't trust AMD GPU's because every last one of them overheats and dies on me. My current GPU's fan is busted and even so I don't have any issue playing games. So, I can't trust AMD to make a gpu without a ridiculous cooler I can't be bothered with.

It is not about being in one camp or another it is about people not want to settle for a system where there GPP goes unopposed and people want to show their support for the other side.

Maybe AMD paid the AIBs to spin this GPP story? Surely you can't argue with the same sound logic you use in your arguments :)

If it doesn't affect NVIDIA's financials...NVIDIA won't care 1 cent.
All this will do is be a shining example of futility based on feelings, not facts.

Good job...lol

GPP is not feelings it has been disclosed or should I say Nvidia attempt at disclosure ?
GPP ensures our engineering and marketing efforts support brands consumers associate with GeForce. That transparency will give gamers the confidence needed to make their purchase, whichever products they choose.
That is what is wrong with it

Partners are signing up, fast. They see the benefit of keeping brands and communication consistent and transparent.
Another set of lies by Nvidia.

from https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2018/03/01/geforce-partner-program/

This is how Nvidia spread more nonsense:

GeForce Partner Program Helps Gamers Know What They’re Buying

Apparently they have been selling boxes with green logo that says Nvidia and gamers were still to stupid to realise they bought a Nvidia product. Just for the people I guess which can't discern between red and green and don't know a 3 letter brand from a 6 one.

None of the stuff on the blog is true and people know it.

Preaching to the choir...

This thread is retarded...and wasting bit and bytes that could be used for something more valuable...my bet is that NVIDIA will have another record quarter...no matter how buthurt you and other are.

Only thing that matter for NVIDIA (and all other corporations)...they don't care about your feelings.

Typical dumb fanboys' logic:

Tell everyone to boycott a brand

When you tell them the alternatives cost considerably more, they go silent or attack your character.

I attacked the thread, not the OP...pot calling the kettle black...lay of the personal attacks, they make you seem emotional...not factual.

You did not attack anything, you just showed that you fail to understand what folks other then yourself think about Nvidia and their GPP.

I don't care what people think...some people the earth is flat...people believe all sorts of batshite cryazy stuff...doesn't mean it will have an effect in the real world.

You give this thread (and preaching to the choir) far, far, far too much value...I suspect you are using emotions and not facts....hence a waste of time.

GPP is anti consumer, simple as that, no more and no less. If you choose to ignore those facts, that is on you. I really do not have to boycott though since I do not purchase Nvidia based products in my machines anyways nor do I use Intel for myself.

Thread is silly. I have called out nvidia for this and I think its bullshit they re doing this. But people will buy what they want, I do believe however nvidia will likely get in some shit over this but they will have made enough to pay whatever fine they have to pay lol. But boycott talk is silly simply because it will start a fanboy war. While nvidia will get negative image for this.

The truth is Most tech sites are not doing enough work to call out nvidia. Nvidia has a tight grip on everything and even media. Only H has done detailed work on it. No serious effort by anyone else other than small news about GPP. Everyone doesn't want to piss off nvidia it seems.

I sometimes wonder if the Radeon would be better today if it was still ATI.
