Facebook Shrinks Fake News after Warnings Backfire

Facebook had implemented red warning labels to identify fake news and discourage users from reading debunked stories, but they actually had the opposite effect, as members of the social network have been sharing them at increased rates. The company’s engineers and content moderators have now opted to shrink them to reduce their visual prominence.

Facebook says it can reduce the spread of a false news story by 80 percent. Facebook needs to prove it has a handle on false news before more big elections in the US and around the world arrive. There’s a lot of work to do, but Facebook has committed to hiring enough engineers and content moderators to attack the problem.

Well, y'all have Faux News, Breitbart and the Daily Stormer for your news.

So you're giving the thumbs up for FB to hide factual, non-biased, stories if they aren't in agreement with the predetermined narratives of what is, as openly admitted in front of the US Congress by its founder, a clearly left leaning organization?

I find this concerning. Perhaps you should think about the implications of this with more depth than "my side is right, gag the other guys".

He is not smart enough to do that. I bet he participated in the screaming at the sky event. Notice how the prick put "The Daily Stomer" in his list to insinuate that conservatives are all racist.

It is indeed possible he doesn't have the requisite intelligence, of course it's also possible he is more worried about trying to feel morally superior, a la virtue signaling, than what is best for the country. Neither is a good thing.

Yeah, more engineers to push the leftist line and "dispute" real news. This just makes the fake news problem worse at FB.

FB = Censored News Network......might as well be renamed at this point because they very much came to the conclusion on their own that they have done nothing wrong.
Welcome to Facebook, Where facts don't matter and your wrong even though you are probably right!

"Nullity's Law"
There's an easy and fool-proof way to tell if anything politics related is true or not. If anyone calls it "fake news", you can be sure it's the solid truth

Nope, not correct at all. That is more like childish, kindergarten based thinking.

Why don't people just understand you can't believe everything you read on the internet? It's an easier concept to digest than blame Facebook.
