These guys are the business for anyone looking into a home theater setup. They usually retail for $800 each and are on sale at Newegg of all places for $380 each. (With free shipping, these guys ship at like 160lbs so be glad)

They are the cousin of the JBL 590s which feature dual 8 in. woofers as opposed to the dual 6.5 in. woofers in the 580s.

JBL drops these guys in price maybe twice a year to this low a level.

I bought my 590s direct from their website when they were on a stupid sale for $475 each (most of the year they are $1000 each).

So good stuff. If PC hardware isn't enough to feed your tech addiction, this would be a good pacifier for those who have room for them.

There are some of them out there. Not sure which would be the most convincing. Enough for people to recommend the pair at $1600 let alone the $750 with the sale.

I will say though, if you can be patient. Their bigger brothers the 590s have dropped to $475 about once a year (from $1000 each).

I originally heard about the JBLs when watching a video review of the 590s on Z Reviews on youtube. If you can handle the vulgarity of his reviews, it might be worth a listen as he praises the 590s (which he reviewed them on their sale price)

Also I can say the 590s are very efficient so you don't need to worry about over-spending on an amp. 100 watts per channel was much more than I needed on these guys.

I'm not sure how different the 580s are from the 590s. I know from specs the 590s extend 6 hz lower because of their woofer size. But the 40 hz of the 580 is nothing to slouch at. A sub will completely negate that factor anyway.

Basicly, if you can't ever see yourself spending above $1500 on your speakers than this at $750 is a rare taste on a cut above what you can get most anywhere else. The thing that boggles my mind is these guys are substantial in size and of course sound great. Once unwrapped each tower will weigh about 70lbs each. People pay $1500 for headphones these days. Lets just say you get a lot for the money.

When I clicked on the link the speakers were not even mentioned. Searching for it brings me to this link
So that is why I said it was dead. When searching for JBL 580 I only get the $799 link.

Yeah a bit confusing that link. Half the time it doesn't work, the other half it does. Must be a weird Newegg thing.
