A leaked memo has revealed that Apple had twelve employees arrested last year for leaking information. In total, twenty-nine workers were caught providing privileged information to the media, which included software packages detailing the then-unreleased iPhone X and new Apple Watch.

The crackdown is part of broader and long-running attempts by Silicon Valley technology companies to track and limit what information their employees share publicly. Firms like Google and Facebook Inc. are pretty open with staff about their plans but keep close tabs on their outside communications and sometime fire people when they find leaks.

Man, must suck to be fined, fired, or else, for leaking info on two of Apple's least profitable items in decades. Could've said nothing and not changed the present state at all.

Are they getting paid for the information? Or are they just doing it because they want so badly to tell everyone what they know.

So now people get arrested for leaking info instead of getting fired. My how times have changed

Ah America, where leaking images of a product a few weeks ahead of it's public release can earn you jail time, but costing millions of Americans their very identity by leaking their private info only gets you a strongly worded letter. Priorities.

The best justice money can buy!

.......leaks are another way for folks to get a lil extra cash too.....and in this facebook popularity world gets you some social points even if its a secret to only your closest friends.

The leaker of the security video of Jay-Z getting kicked around by solange netted something like 100K. Fk'd up when an apple employee needs some extra cash.
