Benchmarks for different 1080 Ti cards?

I'm looking for benchmarks that compare the different 1080 ti cards. Seems like i've ran across that before, but can't seem to find it now.

I'm trying to compare the ASUS Turbo and the MSI Aero OC.
 
If you are going to buy a 1080 ti then get a model with a much better cooler. If you really need a blower than get the founders edition.
 
I would be careful right now when buying a 1080 ti. In fact, I would not recommend it to anyone. Why?

1170 and 1180 with 8 / 16gb DDR6 is coming out in a few months. July / Aug time frame. So 4 or so months away.

If you must have one then absolutely be prepared to sell it end of June unless you do not care about such things.

If you do buy one, just get one with an aftermarket cooler. Aim for 3 fans. All the benches between 2 fan cards and 3 fan cards will be very similar.
 
There's not that much difference between the cards - you can overclock them nearly all the same. The exception might be that watercooled cards could hold their max clock better.
As to air cooling - EVGA SC Black is probably my favorite of the half dozen + I've had my hands on. (Asus blower, MSI Founders Edition, PNY blower, PNY XLR8, Gigabyte two fan, Gigabyte Aorus, EVGA FTW) Of the reference blower fan styles --- the MSI Founder’s Edition seemed to be of significantly heavier quality materials than the other non founders editionsreference blowers I had.

I like the EVGA SC Black the best because it is standard size, the fans turn off when not in use (independently even), the card feels of highest quality material, the fans look of higher quality, it has a nice backplate, runs quiet and cool, looks very nice, price is reasonable.

The SC II Black lets you use RGB, where the ones I have, the SC Black are stuck at white LEDs.

The Aero and Turbo are pieces of shit out of the box.

The Aero variant is alright if you're going to put a water block on it as it's supposedly the same PCB as the X series.

Personally, I'd spend the extra $50 on a better air cooler and warranty from a company like EVGA.

Speaking of - I need to get to returning that Hybrid I've got sitting around.
 
Yeah I understand the fan setup and all that is not up to par with the better 3rd party stuff.

But say I got one of these cards at about a $600 price new vs what the other cards are selling for new right now... still worth spending $300+ Extra on one of them?

Well if that silly hypothetical situation was possible then of course it would not be worth it to spend 50% more.

It's not exactly a silly hypothetical situation.. I have the option between those 2 cards, so that's what I am trying to decide. Which of the two would be the best option. There just isn't a lot of information online on either model. Yeah you can buy them left and right, but not many people have talked much about them other than they are gonna be noisy and not be able to overclock to the extent (if at all) of the cards with better cooling.

To be honest, I am not too worried about OC the card.. but noisy fans is never fun. In the end, saving that amount of money, the noise may not be that big of a deal.

That’s what you are trying to do here.

They both are non founder edition reference blower cards. They’ll very likely perform nearly identically.

Buy the one you like the looks of, or based on vendor reputation/warranty and call it a day. Or hold another month or two for Volta.

I owned two of those Asus Turbos.
They advertised 10 year capacitors, and a dual ball bearing fan. The Newegg description of the MSI references 10 year caps as well, but doesn’t mention dual ball bearing fans. I didn’t pursue further to determine if the MSI has dual ball bearing fans. The ASUS Turbo 1080ti cards I owned plastic felt cheap and the fan shroud thin, but I suppose that doesn’t matter if you are using it and not handling it. I’ve not used that MSI Aero. I have read at least in one thread a large miner operation (factory warehouse size) liked Asus GPUs better than MSI because of their experiences —— but I’ve no idea how antecdotal that info is.

I have the same card and it works great. I never felt like I was let down by not spending more money.
 
Thanks everyone for the responses. I know I’m splitting hairs to an extent, but wanted to make sure there were no noticeable differences before making a choice. Thanks again
 
Gamers Nexus did a bunch of tear down/comparison stuff last year to compare thermals and noise, realistically there's no difference in framerate/frametimes for obvious reasons.
 
I decided to go with the Asus Turbo.. and to be honest, its not loud at all. The temperatures are slightly high, but so was my r290x. My 290x ran 80-82 at highest normally.. and 80 is highest i've seen on this card yet. But that was only through about 30-45 minutes. No sound difference between my other card. Just a lot more power.
 
Decent choice. I'm all about fan noise on videocards. I always buy something aftermarket if I'm not satisfied with the blower profile. Now it's just about finding the quietest radiators.

Quiet radiators eh? I guess I've never had a noisy radiator. Noisy fans and pumps, sure. Guess I'll have to keep my ears open.
 
I'm going to make my passive cooling device more quiet. Really? How? Let us know..
