DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Currently for me one of the most beautiful builds. Very cool shots. I love that gray/white/black style.
There is a great care of the details!
The 92 above the rad is painted in black!
He also covered the various pieces of the motherboard, really good!
The cables were sleeved by themselves, and even if they are very large in diameter, they circulated them very wisely!
The only drawback must absolutely close the case, others on his platform have succeeded I believe,
perhaps with different ram, or maybe just turning the asetek?
For me it's really well done, it relaxes me watching it !!! (y)

Thanks a WHOLE lot everybody! Will certainly take your feedback into account! And no... I can't close my sidepanel on the CPU side... Would be possible with one of those windowed sidepanels tho, since they add a comfortable extra 15mm of clearance ;)

Increasing the slot hole count for bottom fan.
Will this included in v3?

I am thinking of adding a 92mm fan bracket and moving the motherboard 5mm down.
And will this included in v3?

Please include both!

As an owner of v2, and just speaking personally here, I can't justify buying v3 without one or both of these changes.

For me, it'd be ideal if both the above changes were included, but if I had to pick just one of the two... then I'd prefer a 92mm fan bracket above the mobo / GPU.

dondan, you've definitely got my money (again) if both these changes are included in v3.

Has anyone measured the remaining clearance from the cooler to side panel if your cooler is truly 48mm tall? If so, what is it? I skimmed the whole thread and didn’t notice this (but hey, tons of really helpful info for someone planning a build on the upcoming V3’s.)

Anyone using a samsung nvme on the back of their z370-i strix? Temps and how bad is it throttling?

I'm using a 960 Evo on the back of my Z270-I as my OS drive.
Because the strix cannot adress two sata-m.2 ssds I had to use one nvme. The slot in the back does not take sata drives so the 960 evo had to go there...
Honestly I do not need the nvme speed so I never saw it throttling because of too much/long load.
Temps while gaming were about 65-70C max, so however still within specs.
Never had any problems since my build in Feb '17.

What are the consenquences if I choose to use a G.skill Trident Z over an lpx ram other than the cpu cooler? Would love the HyperX fury but it's just at 2400 and I'm afraid I might get unlcuky with the ram and not be ablec to oc it to 3200. I'm not into the vengeance I don't like it it's aesthetics.

And is the sf 450 enough for i5 8600k and 1060 6gb? Will start my build this week finally. Thanks :D

No real consequences. You will have a hard time using an AIO, that’s about it. Maybe some of the less popular coolers might not fit, but, the best ones will fit still. And yeah that SF450 will be fine unless you’re somehow jamming a lot more hardware in that box than anyone else around here has.

Here ...we were talking about the fan under mobo,
...are you talking about the 120 on the cooler?
Yes, it is too big, you should try a smaller one. I hardly recommend you the thermalright ty-100, it is the one that performs better. You can buy it sending thermalright an email.

Thanks a lot pedrofan (y)
at the moment my research phase is suspended,
I find myself very well with the 120, indeed,
I feel so good that I'm thinking of changing GPU,
take a longer and quieter one,
and then abandon the possibility of turning it into AIO to push me further

Since Intel just announced the remaining Coffee lake skus will the 8600 run much cooler over it's k brother or there will be not much of a difference? Should I rather go with an 8500? Gonna use it with a Window panel and Cryorig C7 cooler. Thanks :D

What will perform better in the v2, Noctua l9i with fan duct or Cooltek lp53 with 2.5w a9x14 with fan duct? And how many degrees?

I haven't been paying attention much lately but, the "old" (v1) common wisdom was the LP53+the slim A9 90mm Noctua fan was the best and most available combo. Ducting improves either one I believe. There are a ton of posts in this thread showing temps on all these various setups.

So what exactly happened there? Went from being custom watercooled with a 120 rad to aircooled with sleeved cables?
This case is full of surprise ! :)
Yesterday Water, today Air, tomorrow Water...
...and again and again and again :ROFLMAO:
(the cure)

Did you finish your sleeved cables?

No, not yet, for the custom cables I'll need several days to dismantle all the components, measure everything, make/cut/sleeve the cables, test the new cables and then reinstall everything in the case. This is too valuable "game time" that I'd rather spent gaming now I'll see what the future brings

if anyone has a Zotac card with an Asus AURA sync compatible motherboard, I just did a mod to enable the full rgb
capabilities of the card, not just the 6 or 7 ones in the spectra firestorm utility from Zotac.

Obligatory little video montage with epic music:

Images of the mod in the video description. Enjoy!

Post the review when it arrives :)

Sure. I'm going to be comparing it against the l9i though. That's all I got.
Pretty happy with l9i's performance tho. 8700K [email protected] getting 60c delta T in prime95 8K in place FFTs 10min run right now.

Got the c7 cu just because copper looks cool :D t's probably going to be 2 weeks till it arrives.

And now that the c7 cu is finally out, just need that silverstone 500w fanless unit to come out.
My build is going to double in weight with both of those in there.

edit:
Wow nice! Is that 8700k delided? I'll prolly grab an 8600. No ryzen asus mitx to be found in my country + still a price premium for 8600k and above leaves me no choice.

It's delidded with CLU inside the IHS, but no other mods.
