Dang, just wanted to vent, my couple little nvidia cards are barely making over electricity cost. (making $1.50 a day) Crazy how quickly things tanked since I got back into it a month ago.

Well, mining is mainstream now. It's like anything else that becomes mainstream. You've gotta find a niche or you'll just be 1 step behind the guy with deeper pockets and more heavily invested.

Cool, sell your GPUs as used.

Eventually it will happen. Mining will tank.

Getting there, i see more and more AMD cards on ebay as profits are extremely slim. Break even is very long. If you are just starting now, i have bad news.

profits tanked so much its not even worth it anymore

heres my 1 rig, 4 cards, making a measly 2.04/day

Ugh.... what are you mining with and what is your electric rate?

actually, i just noticed that i have been making the same amount of btc/day before and after it tanked

so really i am making the same, the only difference is bitcoin isnt worth as much at this moment,

Is that true? I never really look at the BTC, just the USD, and its dropped 40-60% at times.

What 4 gpus are those? I'm doing the same with one 1070. Dual mining has seemed to be less profitable to me, I unchecked all those coins that dual mine.

my etn rigs are still VERY profitable and my zcash rigs are beating electric by a fair margin. and remember price right now doesnt matter, it only matters what you sell at.

Its not TOO bad. I'm doing about $165/day (if I was to sell what I make each day which I'm not), and my monthly power cost is about $1,000. So about $4,000 net profit each month. Sure, its not like December or January, but definitely still profitable. Of course of you paid 2x retail for your cards, the picture would look different...

Even at ~.13c/kWh, i am still quite profitable.

As profitable as a few months ago? Naw.

Future millionaire? yeah.

;-)

Stop worrying about USD/day.
I guess thats all I really care about because I am not holding. I am just getting some extra cash for tuition bills.

How many gpu's is that?

Was there ever a time you could mine, say, 1 BTC a day with a single top tier GPU? Asking just to gauge how badly I missed this mining boat.

there was a time when you could mine thousands of BTC with an average laptop. you're about 9 years late to the party.

He probably has 70-80 1080ti's for that amount per day.

Nah, I got:

26 1080Ti
12 1070Ti
17 1070
21 1060 3GB
1 1050Ti
2 Antminer S9

BTC dropped a lot today (currently at $8,576) so I'm down to $152 right now according to Awesome Miner.

That will do it. Nice way to spend almost $50k. Do you have pictures of this monster farm?

Right now the rigs are scattered around the house to provide heat although I still have to leave windows open since they provide too much heat, even when it is below freezing outside, lol. I'm working on creating a space for all of them in my detached shop building, so they will all be moved there this spring as soon as the weather turns warmer. I started purchasing GPU's last August and managed to get most of the 1080Ti's at under $700 and the 1070's at under $400 (as low as $340). Those were the days. In all I got a little under $40k in the rigs and everything has ROI'ed at this point.

I use HIVE OS and here's a shot if the GPU miners:

And Awesome Miner where I track earnings in real time:

Right now I'm doing NiceHash, but it varies. I was doing ZCL for a few weeks leading up to the BTCP fork, so I'm holding both ZCL and BTCP waiting for something to hopefully happen with those. Sometimes I'll cash out BTC on a daily basis when it is on a downward trend, and hold it when it is rising. Sometimes that works in my favor, sometimes it doesn't.

That Hive OS looks interesting and I love the GUI. I have 24 1080ti and 12 1070ti most ran Nicehash however I have now gone back to mining Zcash on Nanopool. I will have to checkout that Hive OS, thanks for the pictures..

My ETN is crap these days, hopefully it goes back up. It's about 1/2 of 2 months ago.

Last big stock market pullback 3 weeks ago, I spent about 6k on stocks... already made 1,000. Not really sure crypto is where the money's at.

to me this is a long term investment, yes the market is down at the moment but 1 year from now 2,3,4 years the value will be higher. Just gotta HODL and pay that electric bill out of pocket :)

Maybe, or maybe the valuations of all the present cryptocurrencies will flounder as the market space evolves. It's wildly wildly wildly speculative right now.

I mean I'm sitting on my small beans, but let's be realistic.

The 1050ti is key. I hope that doesn't crap out on you. ;)

HiveOS is awesome bro, def check it out

I like SMOS. But HiveOS I don't know. Done a little reading so far. And makes me wary of it. It looks like it's Russian made, I could wrong. The way this world is I really don't trust a lot. Look at Trump, and the Russians. And having to use the first gpu in first 16x to hook monitor to. Do you lose any hash? And to monitor you have to use telegram. I like SMOS website to monitor. Being free if you have only 3 rigs doesn't when have more then 3.

Lol definitely! I use it mainly for testing stuff, but when I'm not, you bet its giving up its ~190 Sol/S for the cause. lol It is a MSI GAMING and has a better cooling solution than my crappy Zotac 1060's which have a single fan heat sink with no neat pipes.

As for HIVE using the 1st GPU, I have not noticed an impact unless I have a direct session going to a particular rig. It is no where near like when RDP'ing to a Windows rig and doing a 4k session. That will shave off some hash in a heartbeat!

No perceivable hash loss. This is coming from SMOS. I absolutely prefer HiveOS over SMOS just based on the level of reporting, remote management, and customization.

FYI, if you ever need a market pullback, just let Verge run his mouth on the internet :)

Back in 2010, with a couple of 4870s, and later with 6970s, I was pulling in BTC at a good rate. Thanks to MtGox, and Deepbit mining pool, I lost 90% of it.

Was coming here to chime in that in 2010 with a 5870 you could mine about 0.25-0.5 a day.

This was when it cost B10,000 for a pizza, and it never made sense to me to spend effort doing this.

Mining pool hub with Awesome miner, standalone mining clients, such as Claymore; there is so much more out there that's more profitable, it BOGGLES ZE MIND! (and I'm not butt-hurt about nicehash, but I did read about the hacked disaster that it is :) )

Because I'm in a good mood, I'll take this even further. Check out this guy's playlists:

https://www.youtube.com/user/breezeprz/feed

He has absolutely detailed, step by step explanations and instructional vids on how to get set up with Mining pool hub, as well as how to get set up to mine specific algos and coins. He must work in tech support somewhere, cause if you can't follow him, I can't help you then.
Enjoy your no-bullshit profits :)

Please, post your feedback in this thread, I'd be curious...
