Well honestly $$70 over MSRP is less than the typical $150+ over MSRP that cards are currently going for. So i guess this is technically a good deal.

LOL, here in europe the cheapest 1070 available now is $800 So I wouldn't lift my nose up at that price.

No it isn't. MSRP on a FE 1070 is still $399. I'm guessing the MSRP on this card is $399-$429 depending on the price of GDDR5.

$50 over what it was before the mining craze and a good $100 less than any other GTX 1070 makes it a good deal right now. Again, if I absolutely needed a higher end card right now I'd get it without hesitation.

I don't see the point of mining on GPU anymore. It takes to long to get ROI now when 1080ti are getting around $2 a day and dropping. Sure if you already have the hardware but why buy new hw at this point.

I have been looking for a standard 1070 at ~ $450.00 and under for months and could not purchase one until a month ago. Got it for $429.99 and was happy I did. Still kicking myself for not getting a 1080 when they were around $450 about 6-7 months ago.

Anyways just getting a new card at a reasonable price close to MSRP is difficult.

I agree, I have not been able to justify buying one right now as it is literally going to take over a year to get ROI.
