Forza Motorsport 7 thread

At this rate the game should be stable by next Christmas. I keep getting the annoying jackpot payout ringing after races. That's on top of random crashes now.
Don't click through the reward menus between races so fast and you shouldn't have the sound issue.

This seems to circumvent the issue, but it's still ridiculous that we event have this type of problem at this stage in development (months post-launch).

Whats funny is that none of these issues exist at all on console.

Every xbox is the same. The settings of the game are locked. When you have to make the game scale in quality on a shitload of different hardware types you have issues. Not making excuses for T10 by any means. Ill certainly admit this lauch is probably worse then FH3. Just stating why xbox doesnt have the same pains as the PC.

The jackpot payout sounds is definitely happening on the Xbox as well, started after this last patch.

Yeah it happens on my X. The sound is actually the SP (Seeker Points) being "paid out" at the end of a single player race... just wait until the little animation of them being added to your total is done before going to the credit/XP rewards screen.

But generally the console version is much more solid all around than the PC one.

Well some good luck for me I suppose, I finally finished the single player campaign (not 100% completion). Played for ~2.5 hours without a single issue. The game is fun when you can avoid the bugs. I really enjoy playing the 'regular' length races, which just gives enough laps to learn and maximize each track. It was nice not to have any rage inducing game crashes during the longer races. I'd like to go back and complete the rest of the races at regular or maybe extended length.

nvidia dropped a new driver on wednesday which im downloading now.

Also i got tired of the creators update notification and updated to that. That brought a new issue where the game crashes right after you launch it. I found out deleting a DLC, the VIP pack or any small file size portion of the game and redownloading it lets me play the game. So if any of you are having that issue there is a workaround.

I was thinking about getting this game but not sure if the deluxe or ultimate versions are worth the extra money.

And I still have my Xbox 360 wheel and pedals that work in Win10, this is a pic from last year or so playing Grid or Grid 2 with it.

This is quite possibly the best Forza game I have played. Btw always have mods active since 20k mod pack usually nets you about 50-60K credits so totally worth purchasing mod packs for credits.

Game is absolutely dopey dope. I finished trophy 4 and am on my way for trophy 5. I am having a blast with this game. 10/10.

I have found the perfect drag racing track. Its not any of the actual drag strips either Those suck and are never as fun as you and a friend going on a track with a long straight and just drag racing each other over and over. The biggest issue with that is traction. I have noticed there is a traction value for each track and it does vary. Some have more traction then others. Well on some of the drag strips they make it have alot of bite around the starting line and that added traction fades aware as you put more distance between you and the starting line. The area of effect on that is like around 120 ft id guess.
teal stripes and red ones. These are painted lines and should be slipperier then the road but thats a whole other argument. The teal ones are the same traction as the track. the area where the red ones are is high traction. You launch from the second strip from the wall going the opposite direction and the first overhead ETHAD beam shadow is pretty much a 1/4 mile.

Ill post pics. Ive tested this with the 2000HP GTX and it spins but it is also hauling major ass until it hits the teal then you have to throttle control the power.
Beginning and end.

Just finished the main campaign of this. I absolutely loved my time with it. Very well implemented keyboard controls (no lag). Cars are amazing. Still sad to see some hot cars not on there like McLaren 675LT, 720S, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Lamborghini Urus (the real one), etc etc. But there is still plenty on there to like. What I also did not like is the hypercar implementation where they completely nerfed the Ferrari La Ferrari (no Aperta also), and FXX K. They also nerfed the P1 and P1 GTR speeds. All imo.

10/10 game still.

I agree on the hyper car implementation. In this specific class especially I hate the homologation system. If I'm racing La Ferrari vs. P1 vs. 918 I want their factory characteristics shining through. Not this, randomly upgraded so they're roughly equal but not quite realistic crap we have to deal with.

That said, I love the FXX K. I'm going back through the campaign now and redoing a few of the 'Open' series using it.

Separate topic, December update and car pack came out yesterday. I'm not impressed. However I noticed on other forums that the 2017 Porsche GT3 RSR is available as a driver upgrade reward. Pisses me off that I can't just go buy any/all cars in the game, but really glad to see this one added.

Have to say, the DLC so far has been extremely disappointing. No cars so far that I actually want to drive. The Porsche 935/78 from November is basically it.

Agree with this. As soon as they started doing this in Horizon 3 I quit playing it. To see this bullshit back in 7 and even worse has me very upset. It's why I have not been playing it much.

Its good I didn't purchase the car pack this time. I have been disappointed in all my car pass purchases since Forza 5.
They can eat my dick with this nonsensical crap. Only car I am remotely interested in is the Porsche Cayenne lol.

Picked up the game for $38 this weekend. Tried it on PC first, the FFB with my Fanatec was not impressive at all. Need for Speed (2016) still has the best FFB of any racing game I've played recently. I switched over to my X1 since I have a g920 mounted to a playseat. Much better, but the g920 just doesn't compare to a Fanatec wheel. It'll get me by for now.

Game itself is great as usual. I'm still getting used to homologation. Ran really smooth on PC and feels about the same on X1 surprisingly (not an X).

Keep in mind peoples value in the car packs do vary based on personal taste/preference.

If I were to choose between FH3 and Forza 7... Which would you guys say is "better optimized" on the PC? I do like forza 5...

Both run fine. I get 70-90 FPS at 1440p maxed out.
Forza 7 has a habit of being slightly sluggish during loading menus but that’s it.

As KickAssCop mentioned, they both run great. However they are very different games. Forza 7 is much closer to a traditional racing sim vs. FH3 is very much an open world racer.

I’ve been playing FM7 on and off on both PC and XBOX One X.
I wish Turn 10 rework/tune HDR implementation. Given the superior hardware resources they have on PC and XBOX One X platforms (compared to PS4 Pro), there’s no reason for FM7’s HDR to look subpar compared to GT Sport.

Seeing GT Sport’s HDR on PS4 Pro, it’s amazing what a talented/skilled developer can pull off from an inferior hardware platform.
Compared to GT Sport’s HDR, FM7’s HDR looks subpar/duller.

Also, on PS4 Pro and XBOX One X, both games run at 30fps in replays. However, GT Sport uses very nice DoF and motion blur effect, it’s more pleasing to watch.

You all have a recommendation on a wheel that clips to your desk and some pedals to go with it specifically for this game? I had some trouble getting into it initially and think that could help. I have maybe 5 hours in it and I bought the ultimate edition o.0

What are you using right now to control the game? Wheel FFB kinda sucks in Forza, at least until you tweak a whole bunch of settings which are overwhelming to a newbie.
